These are the new, epic photos of Kristen Stewart at last night’s Toronto premiere of On the Road. Before we get to the fashion and stuff, look at her left hand! When Kristen was photographed at LAX two days ago, headed to Toronto, she was wearing a cast on her left hand middle finger. What happened to the oh-so-sympathetic cast? I’m examining the finger in these photos, and it looks kind of bruised and swollen, so I guess she really did mess up her beloved middle finger somehow and she just opted out of wearing the cast on the red carpet. Either that or she was only wearing the cast in the first place for sympathy? No, of course not. She would never!
Kristen’s dress is Zuhair Murad Fall/Winter 2012 Couture Collection, and the red carpet heels are Jimmy Choo – of course, Kristen is still super-hardcore, so she changed her shoes just as soon as she could (I’ve included a photo of Kristen post-premiere, in her high-top kicks). As for her general vibe… I’m looking through the photos from two different agencies to get a sense of her mood and her “look”. In many photos, she looks like the same old sullen girl who seems like she loathes the attention. But in some photos, she was smiling, and in others she looked kind of worried and repentant. She also looks kind of tired to me… which very well could be the case. Anyway, pretty makeup (she usually has great makeup), but her hair is kind of blah though. The hairstyle seems like an afterthought.
The New York Times has a great piece on what Kristen was like on the carpet – before she began her rounds, she got a pep talk from a publicist, then she went to the fans and autograph seekers – the Times notes, “Canadians being among the most polite movie crazies on earth, only a very few heckled.” Then she moved on to the entertainment outlets and gamely spoke to them – all told, she was on the carpet for 40 minutes, apparently.
Meanwhile, in a poorly timed piece of gossip, the Snow White and the Huntsman DVD is out, and everyone is talking about Rupert Sanders’ “director’s commentary” included on the DVD. Rupert apparently points out his wife, Liberty Ross (who played Queen Eleanor, the mother of Snow White, COUGH), and then goes on to praise Kristen’s performance extensively. Yikes. I do not think she looks good here. I was expecting way way way better. She wears smokey eyes so well, why would they make under her face? She should have come out looking fierce and owning it. I didn’t expect this… for me, it misses the mark.

I agree, her face is always gorgeous. I just feel like this styling is kind of bizarre for her and isn’t doing her any favors. She does look tired, but I think it’s the makeup/hair. Well she and RP and RS must still be apart since according to the October Vogue article, she doesn’t feel the need to wash off that smell and her hair actually looks pretty clean here. That’s about the best I can say for this look.

Brown, your statement is just laughable. If you don’t think she looked gorgeous at TIFF, you’re entitled to your opinion; but so am I, and in my opinion you are just blind. The dress was beautiful and feminine. Tiny as she is she looked long and lean. Her hair was sleek and her make-up soft. Her face is thinner,but she hit the mark, hard. Seriously, you must be joking. She has a beautiful face, the weight loss trimmed her waist and she has an enviable figure now. And as I said in previous threads, no bolt-ons, just a push-up bra. Rob will be back,trust me, he’d be a fool not to.. A guy who licks your under arms is deep into you. He’s going to have a hard time getting over her, if he ever does.

This is the first thing I thought..where are the boobies? Her PR people had a chat with her before going out on the red carpet and I am sure told her she had better smile and greet her fans. As soon as she saw her fans accepting her back into the fold, she really put on the smiles and when Josh interviewed her and asked her something, she said..”damn right” so Kristen was not changed by this, she is too jaded by Hollywood to quit doing what she wants when she wants. Makeup can sure make up look a lot different. She has heavier brows and her face has lost so much weight, it is angular instead of soft. Pulling back her hair doesn’t accent her face, it accents her ears. I bet she doesn’t weight 90lbs. The dress is beautiful and it does look like it’s hard for her to smile but I am sure she had been lectured to look contrite and to smile. The scandal sure did a number on her and now how Rupert talks about her on the dvd will start it all over again. Oh well, you are supposed to learn through your experience.

Agree 100% I am normally meh on both KS & RP but never found her to be that attractive or great of an actress, but occasionally she does really “hit it hard” but not here. That 1st photo of her profile? ouch. Maybe it’s the lighting in addition to some weight loss? She’s always been thin, but as some one up thread said it seems to make her face appear longer. Either way, between this appearance and her vogue photos I say big thumbs down

Her face is definitely different. It could just be the weight loss. Though her nose looks different to me. Wasn’t there a blind item recently about a starlet who’d had some cosmetic surgery done and hadn’t been seen recently? Maybe she used her time out of the public eye for some subtle tweaks to the bridge of her nose.

Why does everyone think people in Canada are so polite? I’ve lived here my whole life… we’re kind of dicks where I’m from.
And my God, most just HATE on American’s to no end (not me). It’s insane.
However we have had a LOT of American’s come to our town in Nova Scotia asking how we get to the mainland once the ocean freezes up, and asking if they can bike to PEI in a day, asking about our igloos and sled dogs. So I suppose some of the time they hate on America because of a few idiots ruining for the rest.

@Erinn – I know what you’re saying. Re: being polite, I think that Canadians tend to be more deferential, Americans more assertive. It’s not a rule, but it’s prevalent enough that it seems to be a thing (and neither tendency is better than the other, they’re just different).
As for the anti-American vibe, yes, I’ve seen it and heard it, and most of the time I’ll call people on it. I think that because American culture is so prevalent thanks to the movie & entertainment industry, some people take the anti- stance as a way of defining their own culture. I hear them say, “We’re not like Americans because we don’t do X,” or “because we do X”. As if the only way to define your culture is to say what you are NOT. It’s a very negative, reactionary mentality. Try telling me what you ARE, or say “I am” this or that.
For all the stereotypes about rude Americans and polite Canadians, I’ve travelled a lot in the States (best road trips ever!), and I think I’ve shocked some Americans with my potty mouth when I get angry at the automated gas pumps. In my experience, Americans can be the most friendly and outgoing people you’ll meet, even when you’re just a random stranger. I’m Canadian and I love my American neighbours!

Kristen walked the carpet and did all her press with Garrett. She also “checked in” with her publicist twice. She signed a tonne of autographs and posed like it was a twi convention.

as it is TIFF, personal questions are not the usual at those kind of things. of course the instructions forbade personal questions, because it’s not that kind of an event-besides, Stewart and Pattinson always had instructions against personal questions-even on Twi premieres and conventions.

Lainey said pretty much said what I said in comment 16, no one knew if Kristen was going to do the press line until the last second (and local media said they had not receive any instructions on questions). She talked to her publicist and Garrett and it seemed like the decision was made then.
Either way, she did her job.
I read on the internet about the heckling but I didn’t see or hear any of it. There are 3 more people on this thread who were there and they didn’t say anything about heckling either.

I was there last night to watch the movie, and all the actors came out for a QandA after the film. They asked Kristen if it was difficult to play the role and she went into a very awkward speech on the difficulty of the overt sexuality of the role. She basically said that the sexual freedom of the role was liberating, which was kind of interesting given the situation. Everyone on stage was very supportive of her and Kiki was petting her like she was a crazed mental patient.
The movie itself was kind of disappointing, which possibly was due to the fact that I was falling asleep due to the the hour long delay because of the red carpet. Kristen was her usual one-dimensional self, but Garrett Hedlund was really great as Dean Moriarty.

A friend of mine who was in the press line said they weren’t given the usual warning about “no addressing her personal life”, so she may not have planned to do press at all.

It is pretty much modus operandi for the stars to come up for a QandA after the film, so she must have been prepared. She was awkward, but no more so than I have seen her in other interviews. I also forgot to mention, she dropped the Fbomb which is also pretty usual. I do think she did fine in the QandA and I was glad no one asked her any questions about her personal life or made any rude comments.

I, with my own powers of deduction, gained through years of being in relationships and having friends in them, concluded that the guy who was in a four year relationship with her, licks her underarms, and doesn’t wash her smell off is not going to let her go over kisses and hugs, as public as they were. Many people have been in love and have left relationships whilst STILL being in love because the relationship is toxic for them.

Cheating is not excusable-and I’m talking about her cheating on her bf. But, as someone down the thread said, she showed her remorse, and she ruined her relationship. What do we truly know about her, Sparkles, or any of those people? Nothing, and I don’t see why should I pass judgement further than that. It’s a study in human nature how she can’t win:if she looked totally awful, people would scream she’s not professional, if she looked great and smiled whole time-people would say it was planned and how dare she look good-she obviously hasn’t cried enough! all of this is just silly! julia roberts actively wrecked a marriage, claire danes hooked up with her now-husband while Parker was pregnant with his child…and we don’t give them so much flack (including me, I just can’t hate angela chase;)

I agree what she did was pretty horrible but I don’t think she should be burned at the stake. I think if some genuine gossip happens during the Twilight promotions happens I’ll be all ears but honestly I could care less about her on her own. Oh and I’m pretty sure she is awful in this movie like she’s been awful in almost every other movie I’ve ever seen with her in it.

People keep missing the point of why she is being shamed (and I think it’s gone way too far). It’s not that she cheated on her boyfriend. It’s that she had an affair with a married man. Even if she had no boyfriend, this would have been a huge story. She was caught in a public clinch with her married director, old enough to be her father, and she knew his wife and two small children. THAT is what has people worked up into a lather.
That said, its time to move on. She expressed remorse, lets see how she carries herself going forward.

I’m feeling the dress, big time. Don’t care for the makeup though. In that department I’ve seen her looking far better. She definitely appears to have lost weight. Alot, in fact. I have to take back what I said about bolt-ons here a week or so ago. Must have been the bra, since there’s nothing in these pics that would make me suspect that now. She’s got a new bodyguard. She’s almost always with one of the same two guys for several years now, but this man in the grey suit is new.

I liked the dress on her, and with no smoky eyes her make up was softer.
I do not wish her ill, but I still don’t like the fact that people are “proud of her” at this point. She did a rotten thing, and for people to congratulate her for showing up to do her job seems wrong to me. I don’t think she should have been heckled, but this fawning love by some bothers me. It’s like some fans are endorsing her hurtful actions.

After so much pretentiousness, justifications for her moody behavior and general ungratefulness of media attention, fans and boyfriend she needs to learn to appreciate things. I hope she thanks the stars for those fans that are so supportive. Not the crazies, the real good fans. She didn’t use to be as nice as she could have been. I know this from experience with the sighing and rolling of eyes when I met her for a fan meet and greet in May. First time she disappointed me and made me feel bad. Did not see that coming.

I can’t even blame her for changing into sneakers. I’m 25 and I hate heels and get out of them ASAP. I walked around my reception in off-white Chucks and my wedding dress last weekend–no use in having my feet hurt for the sake of fashion *all* the time.
As for everything else…meh. You ever see someone that looks like someone you know and don’t particularly like in real life? Sadly, this is how Ms. Stewart is for me. I mean, maybe she’s nice in real life (interviews are a bit to the contrary but who knows?) but I can’t really muster more than “Meh” about her on the positive end of the spectrum.

Here’s the thing that still irks me about this whole situation… why does everyone feel the need to coddle her? Even last night Garret was being “protective” of her when they were doing press, but the why?
Did she make a mistake? Of course she did, a big one. The thing is, up until now she has prided herself on being so authentic and hardcore, well why not act like it? She is young, but she is still an adult, and if you’re going to make adult decisions you need to be prepared for the consequences.

The dress is conservative for her. She’s usually minis, plunging necklines, thigh high skirts. I think her team told her to dress modestly to beat back the trampire meme. So far no major incidents on the red carpet, thankfully, but she did get razzed (certain mags and blogs are going to leave out that detail) so she’s not out of the woods yet.
Speaking of razzed, Kevin Hart clowned Stewart at the VMA’s last night (no surprise). Apparently the MTV brass was none too pleased (Summit must have blew up MTV’s phone) but cooled off because the cast, namely Rob, was not in the audience or at the venue when he cracked on her. Well, they know about it now. The cast and the studio are going to have to suck it up and deal the crass jokes and potentially dangerous promos and red carpets now until BD2′s premiere. Summit is going to have to shell out some money to make sure the venues they sponsor are secure. And some people say what she did is no big deal.

She’s maybe lost a little bit of weight but she’s kinda small to begin with so even 5 lbs would be noticeable on her frame. Or it could be the hairstyle because I didn’t think she looked noticeably thinner in her LAX pics from a couple days ago.
I like the dress but I don’t really like it on her. I almost always have that problem with her red carpet looks because I feel like her outfits always wear her instead of her wearing the clothes. I know her PR team is trying really, really, really hard to turn her into a red carpet fashionista/fashion icon but, IMO, she just doesn’t look comfortable in 95% of her red carpet looks, which has a lot to do with becoming a fashionista/fashion icon. It turns incredible clothing into just…there clothing. When she’s comfortable in something she can wear the hell out of it (I really liked her LAX look from a couple days ago), she just rarely looks comfortable/good in anything she wears on the red carpet (likely because she’d probably rather be anywhere but on the red carpet wearing thousands of dollars of high fashion clothing lol).

I always find it hilarious when girls drop their heels the minute anything is done (like an event, work etc) and put on sneakers. Dunst grew up in hollywood, so she has inner circle status, i think-ppl give her credit where it’s unnecessary;she’s automatically one of the team.
for that matter, it hink nic cage gets whitewashed over or a side story mention in papers, also b/c he is part of hollywood royalty-coppolla’s nephew….i think that’s the real reason.

The NYT exaggerated, there were a lot of people there, sure, but it’s the typical 9pm opening night showing at Ryerson, any avid TIFF goer knows this. I’d say there was 15-20% more people because of her.

I really do not understand the hard-on for Kristen Stewart – she is marginally attractive at BEST and she has the body of a prepubescent child. INCREDIBLY meh!
Don’t get me started on her one-note, terrible acting. The hype around this girl is baffling.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I see WAY MORE attractive/beautiful girls walking down any given street in NYC on any given day.
If she weren’t famous, she wouldn’t even be noticed here – real talk.

Really? I’ve been to NYC a couple of times-and there are some stunning women I’ve seen (but 70% of them models, I think)-but my friend and I commented how, for such an amount of people, we haven’t seen a lot of stunning ones. I mean, don’t get me wrong-there were pretty people, but I haven’t seen a stunning woman on every street.
Eh, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
and although I’m far from flat, skinny girl-I’m small and under 50 kilos, but I do have curves-I think naturally athletic girls with long legs and small chest can be beautiful. All shapes and sizes can be beautiful.

My comment was specifically regarding this beauty pedestal that people(with the help of the media) have Kristen Stewart atop. She isn’t unattractive but she isn’t incredibly attractive either.
As for the girls in this city – I said any given street, definitely not every street.
My comparison was between Kristen Stewart and the ‘normal’ girls here – there’d be no competition. She’d simply blend in, not stand out like she does due to her celebrity status.
You’ve visited NYC a few times, I was born and raised, live, work and play here and I can most assuredly say that there are many attractive non-models walking the streets (not that kind of walking!).
Then again, maybe I’m biased. Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder.

I’ve been avoiding the Slut Shaming Festival of Kristin Stewart. However, she looks very pretty here.
While Kristen was wrong to cheat on Sparkles, I feel she is more blameless than Rupert. He was the one married with children, yet I have been getting the same vibe that Michael Bay and Brett Ratner give me of he expects sex and lords these jobs over these female actresses in exchange for a bj. That doesn’t mean K-Stew shouldn’t have known better and got herself into this mess.
Kristen is only 22, so I am sure she has learned her lesson about cheating and straying and what it costs. I hope one day she gets out of Hollywood, goes to college and finds some semblance of a normal existence. I think if she stays in Hollywood, it will change her for the worst.

In the final picture she is wearing sneakers and you think that with all that fame, money, beauty, talent…she looks like a caged bird who does not know what being 22 is really about..which I believe is finding your identity in the real world. She is already a femme fatale..and a threat to other women. Pretty soon she will look like Lara Croft .. tomb raider…and steal someones husband out from underneath them and will be toting around seven kids and hating her father. Oh, the road to extreme power and prestige has been paved for her already…but what a strange road it is.
