Sparkles introduces ‘Breaking Dawn 2’ trailer at the VMAs: OMG, awful?

Ah, Twihards. Let me appeal to you! Let me enjoy your Twihardy company! Robert Pattinson appeared with some of the Breaking Dawn Part II cast last night at the VMAs. He had been scheduled to appear for a while, I think, and Kristen Stewart was mentioned as a possible guest too, but at the end of the day, she had to be in Toronto for On the Road. Was she missed? Judge for yourself with this video of the cast introducing the new trailer/clip from BD 2:

I think it reads like Sparkles and the Also-Rans. I’m sure all of those actors will be sad to see their Twilight paychecks end, but Sparkles seemed like, “Haha, my last time introducing anything for this GD series.” He seems… relieved. Like the weight is slowly being lifted off his shoulders.

Anyway, on to the clip from Breaking Dawn Part II. OMG THIS IS AWFUL. It looks SO bad. Too bad to even hate-watch, I think. I don’t understand why the special effects are so budget? Why does “Bella flying to the mountain lion” look like an effect created in five minutes (while hammered)?

Hahahaha. This is going to suck so hard. And it’s going to make SO MUCH money.

    Just LOL.

For all of you who love to diss Twilight and it’s cast, keep it to yourself for there are millions that love it and Rob has said time and time again that if it wasn’t for Twilight he would probably be a shoe salesman. Don’t got to see it if it offends you..hummm..I wonder how many who hate it will sneak to the theater to see it because you can’t talk about it if you haven’t seen it. Projected to make 1.2 billion. How’s that Twihaters”?

      • Cherry says:

LOL x2, Jane… ‘keep it to yourself for there are millions that love it’? So because there are so many people who love the Twilight-series, we -the ‘others’- are not allowed to laugh when a god-awful new trailer is released? Ok, then.

      • ojulia123 says:

You are telling us that we are not allowed to express opinions that don’t agree with yours?

The Internet: I don’t think you understand how it works.

Also: That movie looks HORRIBLE – just like those terribly written, ridiculous books. LOLx3!!!

      • iheartjacksparrow says:

Jane – I don’t know where you’re getting your projections, but it’s not from a reliable source. The highest grossing Twilight was New Moon, which made $709 million worldwide. The first Breaking Dawn made $705 million worldwide. For BD2 to make $1.2 billion, that would mean it took in more than several Harry Potters, several Pirates of the Caribbean, Toy Story 3, The Dark Knight, etc. It will open at #1, but it will be extremely front-loaded and fall like a rock in week two. If it makes $700 million it will be surprising.

      • Anname says:

Jane, I think I have said this to you once before, but you will NEVER win an argument trying to defend Twilight. There is way too much ridiculousness in it. Just enjoy the absurdity of it all, like Rob does!

      • someone says:

LOL. this post just made my hangover a lot more tolerable. i’m actually laughing out loud. i don’t want to make rude comments about those who genuinely enjoy twilight (although i have every right to, helllooo welcome to this thing we call the internet), but THIS is an example of why i cannot stand most of their fans. they’re crazy and defensive. if you love it so much, good for you, you should not be offended when people bash it. if you truly think it’s a wonderful movie, negative comments shouldn’t bother you. or are you feeling a little insecure ? just saying. again, like everyone else is saying, everyone has a right to an opinion whether you personally agree or not, and THIS IS THE INTERNET AND YOU’RE ON A BLOODY GOSSIP SITE CALLED CELEBITCHY LOL…like what did you expect?!smh

      • Sarah says:

Yeah TWIHATERZ! Robsten 4eva you are just jellies Twilight is tha bezt and itz gonna make more $$$ than u will eva see ok hate on haterade becuz we are Twlights unicorn soldiers and Robsten is our rainbow!

…did I add enough Zs or does the Twihard regulation committee require more?

      • Janet says:

Honey, the last I heard the First Amendment is still in effect, and if I want to say the trailer stinks I will bloody well say it, here or wherever. Deal with it.

        P.S. The trailer stinks.

      • Nudgie says:

What’s wrong with selling shoes? It worked for Al Bundy…

      • yariettt says:

@Jane, what are you even talking about? Rob was already in Harry Potter 4 . . he was a somewhat well-known actor . . you crazy!

  2. muffin says:

i think it looks entertaining. ANYTHING has to be better than part I. that was god awful stuff.

    • Ducky La Rue says:

And that was where I stopped – watching one was hard enough. Sometimes, I still remember the headache it caused me (it’s like PTSD). 😉

Oh wait – did you mean Part I of Breaking Dawn? Girl, you are made of stronger stuff than me! I never made it past Twilight.

  3. Lm says:

Sorry, this video is unavailable in your country.

    Sigh.

  4. irishserra says:

It is so terrible. So, so awful. And I feel like I HAVE to see it simply because I’ve seen the others and I feel like I need to see it thru. *sigh* I’m so pathetic.

  5. Deana says:

It’s so frustrating – every video you’ve been posting won’t work for me because apparently it’s “not available from my location”. Goddamn you, Canada!

  6. Anname says:

Did anyone have great expectations for this trailer? It is a Twilight movie, goofy and mindless. Pure cheese but I am totally entertained.

I feel for poor Taylor Lautner though, back in 2009 he was supposed to break out like Rob, but now he is in the “also-ran” category. He seems like such a nice guy but he does NOTHING for me onscreen or off.

    • A says:

I’ve always felt a little bad for Tay Tay. He’s obviously not very good, but he’s as good as Ashley Greene…yet he’s pretty much being wiped from all future projects. His agents should have gotten him some supporting roles in action films, and then worked his way up.

  7. Trollontheloose says:

Peter Facinelli looks likes he’s about to make a move..

  8. Van says:

So weird that Vogue article hasn’t made a bigger splash. I 100% believe she is not talking about Rob.

    • A says:

Just my guess, but if she really said that (it could have been a dumb joke, and the writer decided to stick it in afterwards to create more controversy)…well, it sounds like someone who is mentally ill… Even when the girl was high, she still ducked questions and hid in dumpsters. Then to come out and say something like that…? She’s immature and selfish, but being out in the open like that when cheating? I’m seriously starting to think she may be bipolar and was having a series of manic episodes (erratic behavior, promiscuity). Maybe the studio, maybe her PR person are trying to hide it….crazy “Bella” probably would be even worse than what they are trying to spin….Nevertheless, someone in her life who cares about her ought to get her some serious help and focus on her, not her career.

      • mel says:

Its my understanding that she made the comments off the cuff – not in the interview. I’m not really sure I think its fair they included that comment in the interview..but then again she should be careful what she says. I seriously doubt she is bi-polar – you do understand that mental illness comments should not be tossed around lightly..its a very serious condition and one that should not be confused with a girl who has an immature mouth. 🙂

      • A says:

@Mel. Yeah, I get armchair psychiatry is not the greatest. But the girl is still acting totally erratic. She’s always been immature, selfish, and often high. However, her latest behavior (some may chalk it up to solely being immature and selfish) seems downright insane. It’s why a hell of a lot of people were totally baffled as to why she would do something like that in public when she would hide all over in the past. It’s possible that since Liberty Ross was big British model way back in the day, she still has some friends at British Vogue so they decided to stick an off the cuff joke KStew made to stick it to her. It’s also possible that KStew is bipolar. The illness often comes across in a person’s early 20s, and hallmarks of a manic episode are promiscuity and erratic behavior.

  9. Van says:

    • Anname says:

Is it actually released yet, or were those just early scans?

I think she is talking about Rob and overcompensating out of guilt.

      • A says:

@Anname. Same here. I seriously wonder if she’s having some sort of mental breakdown though (manic episodes, as bipolar usually pops up around her age). She was often high, yet managed to get through interviews and avoid the paps. Suddenly, she’s cheating in public and giving insane soundbites? No matter how immature and selfish she may be, that kind of erratic behavior is just odd. Like I said before, someone who cares about her (a family member, a good friend) should check her into a looney bin even if that pisses the Twilight studio or her publicist off. People who care about her should start thinking about her, and not her career.

  10. booboocita says:

I’ll see it. Not a major Twi-hard, but I have a habit of seeing series through to the end, be they books, movies or TV, and having started, I’ll see it through. Besides, I sorta enjoyed Part 1.

I think Elizabeth Reaser has a decent career ahead of her, playing mom and maternal types. She just has that warm and caring vibe. Peter Facinelli will eke out a living in minor parts in movies and on TV. Jennie Garth’s career appears to be resurging; if it gets any hotter, expect Peter to start making reconciliation noises. Ashley, Kellan and Jackson will model and do small parts until their looks give out; after that, it’s strictly Lifetime movies. Taylor will muddle along until he ages out of his fan base. Given his sunny disposition in interviews, I can see him having a career like Mario Lopez.

I sincerely believe that Rob has a chance at the serious acting career he wants. He was pretty darn good in Cosmopolis. He needs to get better at picking roles for himself, though. Bel Ami did him no favors. And Kristen … hmmmm. Who knows? Maybe if he grows the hell up …

    • Katija says:

I could totally see Elizabeth Reaser getting on some successful TV series. There’s something really non-threatening and appealing about her. She was quietly brilliant in Young Adult.

      • Holly says:

She’s been on The Good Wife as a guest star, and it’s a nice change of pace.

I think several blind items have Peter F having impregnated a costar who is about ready to go public (I was eyeing her tummy in the leather dress…), but it’s “complicated” since he’s got a girlfriend on the side, blah, blah, blah…

I can see her career pretty much ending if she really is about to become his next wife/baby-mama.

  11. mel says:

On one hand I can only imagine the cast is relieved and ready to move on – even though most cast members seem grateful to the fans and the opportunities that emerged from the franchise. Rob looked totally awkward…after how many years he has been presenting at these shows can he not get it together?

  12. Reece says:

My friend told me last year she’s dragging me to/through this sh*t again just cuz Lee Pace is in this one. She’s blabbing about it for months! *sigh* I question our friendship at times like these. 😉

But I shall exact my revenge in Dec with The Hobbit AND Les Miserables. 😀

Rob sounds more over it than anyone. lol

    • Katija says:

Ha! Joss Whedon is so not my cup of tea (don’t jump down my throat, Whedonites! You guys are more intense than Twihards!), but my best girlfriend dragged me to “Cabin” and “Avengers.” I told her that “BD” and “Les Mis” would be my revenge. Muahahahahahahahaha!!!

  13. RobN says:

    I didn’t realize it was a comedy.

  14. Dani says:

I still can’t wrap my head around the concept of this movie.

  15. Bina says:

Can’t wait to see NuttyMadam’s reaction to this one.

  16. j.eyre says:

How did they get Michael Sheen for this How did they get Michael Sheen for this franchise?

  17. FreeSpiritedGirl says:

I must say I was a Twihard. When I watched Twilight (part 1), I went crazy. But after New Moon, my excitement started to die. Lol! I loved the books but not the movies. But after Twihard Meltdown, all my eagerness and excitement to watch this movie has died completely. I am not going to watch BD2. I can’t bear to watch Kristen Stewart. I wish there was some other actress playing the role of Bella. I can’t stand her flat acting, lip bites and eyerolls anymore.
This trailer is awful. Bella looks stupid while hunting. The only person that made me smile while watching this trailer was Mackanzie. She is a really gorgeous little girl. 🙂

    • Anname says:

It may be cliche, but it’s all about Rob for me! If he weren’t part of the series, I would have lost interest a long time ago.

  18. Janet says:

Wait a sec, you mean they invented a big climactic fight scene for the movie? Well, I guess that’s better than the book where they all stood around yammering for half a day and then everybody turned around and went home.

This movie looks totally like wait-for-cable. No way I’m spending a dime to watch this.

    • Holly says:

Is this really how the book series ends? If so BWAH! and you ought to review books–hilarious stuff!!

  19. DreamyK says:

None of the movies was all that great. I went to see them, but when it was decided to make Breaking Dawn into 2 movies..I peaced out.

In fact this movie looks so bad, I doubt people would even want to kite it off the internet ^^

  20. NM6804 says:

Yeah, I’ll see it but they won’t make a buck off me though :D. Hehe…

I skimmed through Big Dreck part 1 and it was so awful but the birth was scary/exciting enough to watch.

What’s left for the second one? Will it be skim-worthy?

  21. Katija says:

I am so excited to see this Taylor Latner kid make sexy faces at a seven-year-old. Am I going to hell?

  22. Kate says:

In the whole world there’s not enough facepalms for the last part of this trailer (from 1:19):/

  23. I.want.shoes says:

Never made it past the first half hour of the first movie, so I won’t be seeing the last one.

But I am relieved that the series responsible for catapulting some of the most untalented people into fame will be ending soon!

  24. Lisa says:

Oh Rob, so cool and mysterious in Harry Potter, I always knew this American Tw*tlight malarky would bite you on the bum some day. Now you’re a laughing stock. Should’ve stayed in Britain!
