Sadly it was meant to be a "serious" drama, so I guess that means it was a very bad movie. When it was over, my friend and I discussed how bad it was and if any actor could have done something with the material. We agreed that Nicolas Cage (crazy and broke now, yes, but a great actor in his prime) might have been able to pull out the save but Tom Cruise (Mr. wooden action hero) was a terrible choice for the role. They're not stupid - they just don't have anything to work with (their client is a crazy lift wearing midget who belongs to a cult) and Tom or David M. is probably quarterbacking their every move.
