Does Kim Kardashian wear mink eyelash extensions “attached” to her eyelids?

Over the years, I’ve spent way too much time analyzing Kim Kardashian’s Kat-Face of Doom, mostly in an attempt to understand exactly why and how she looks so weird/different/strange. I remember Kim’s old face, the face she had when she was known solely as “Paris Hilton’s friend”. That face – which, yes, might have been somewhat plastic – was so much prettier and more natural. Nowadays, Kim seems to be showing the negative effects of Botox, of too much electrolysis, of hyper-grooming, of lip injections, all topped off with drag queen makeup (and style). One thing that I (and many others) have noted is that Kim seems obsessed with very thick, creepy, oversized eyelashes. I always thought she just wore false eyelashes all the time, but apparently Kim claimed on a recent episode of KUWTK that she does NOT wear falsies. Er…

When Kim Kardashian bats her eyes, it’s hard not to notice her insanely long lashes. But on a recent episode of KUWTK, Kim said that fake lashes are SO not her thing and that Kanye West prefers a more natural look.

Doubting Kim’s claim of going natural, Star spoke exclusively with celebrity eyelash expert Alicia Hunter. Her verdict? They’re extensions made of mink hair.

“Kim is not only for wearing mink clothing, she actually has the animal fur attached to her body,” says Alicia, whose clients include Dina Lohan. “Kim’s eyes look great – they are always perfect, but they are not natural.”

[From Star Magazine, print edition]

I don’t understand how “mink eyelash extensions” work. Are the mink extensions GLUED in? Is it, like, a surgical thing? I’ve heard of mink false eyelashes before, of course – I’ve always assumed that they were like regular false eyelashes, in that you buy them in strips and apply them on a daily basis. But can you actually get them put on permanently? So many questions.

Say you can get “mink extensions” – does is follow that Kim has them? Eh. It’s so hard to tell what’s a surgical enhancement and what is just awful drag queen makeup. Who knows?

Update by CB: I’ve had the individual false eyelashes applied at a salon, but they were just synthetic and only cost around $35. I was hard on them and they only lasted a couple of days. (I had trouble getting used to them.) Here’s a link to an article by a woman who did the mink eyelash extensions. She said it took a full hour and cost $500. They’re supposed to last longer than the regular synthetic extensions, and can supposedly last two to three months if you’re careful. There’s also some kind of eyelash transplant surgery like Kaiser mentioned that costs about $5,000.

I have heard of women getting false eyelashes glued to their natural ones years ago, but it usually results in losing your natural eyelashes.

Mink lashes are synthetic. They don’t actually use real mink hair for these extensions. If it was mink hair it would be extremely unsanitary and could cause some serious allergic reactions. Mink is just the name of the type of synthetic lash extension. Mink lashes are typically softer and more flexible than the traditional synthetic extensions. They usually are shinier as well. They are individually applied to each natural lash with special lash adhesives and are applied by professionals only. They extensions are adhered to your natural lashes — NOT YOUR EYELID! The full-set application process typically takes 1.5 hours and then you follow up with touch-up appointments every 3-4 weeks when about 50% of your extensions have grown out. Do your research ladies! Don’t get stuck at a cheap shop that will ruin your lashes. Look for top brand names like NovaLash and Xtreme. Most skilled lash artists charge anywhere from 250-500 for the full-set and 75-200 for the touch-up applications.

The mink extensions are individually glued to the natural lashes, lash by lash. It’s painstaking and takes forever, but the results are awesome. Check out KK’s Instagram photos of her “natural” lashes; the comments are highlarious.

You can get eyelash extensions. They are common in the UK. The glue individual lashes to your own eyelashes at the base of each. They don’t really look as fake as falsies though usually and they are human hair or synthetic I believe not mink.

The mink eyelashes are individually glued onto your own eyelashes. You could get the eye lashes at different lenghts and fullness. They last about 4 weeks. I love them!!! I have them to look subtle, but still enhance the look of the eye. LOVE THEM!!

I saw this procedure on a clip of some new reality show. I think the clip was on The Frisky. The show is about 20-something’s in NY tryin to get into the art gallery business, which is apparently very cut-throat (?). Anyway, this girl had the eyelash procedure and they applied each eyelash ONE BY ONE. Crazy.

Of course her eyelashes are fake, right along with her nose, ass, hair, boobs, personality, relationships, friendships, perception of reality, celebrity status, moral ethics, ethics in general really…her whole frickin life is fake. The only thing real about her is her extreme narcissism and delusion of grandeur…..gawd I abhor this broad

  12. Jayna says:

Those super long eyelashes have been a joke on her but I thought she said the long eyelashes were so yesterday and doesn’t wear them anymore because, you know, Kanye said so. She seems to have toned the fake eyelashes down to a more natural length most days.

  13. Danziger says:

It’s actually a pretty common practice among other Estonian women, to have separate eyelashes glued onto your own. Falsies, as applied in strips, are rarely used, but the glued minkies are insanely popular here. They need some maintenance and replacement, as they often fall off (with your own lash), but they must be a lot more convenient than the strips. I wouldn’t know, I just wear mascara and pray that I look decent.

They still look fake as f-ck though.

  14. DanaG says:

Maybe cause they are fur she sees them as being natural? Her version anyway I mean they are more natural then her nose, hair etc. Kanye can’t be too bright if he thinks she grew them herself. Kim is looking so bad she just looks fake and she did once look pretty. Kanye actually has made her look way worse and her clothes are just awful these days. She won’t be making any top dress lists ever.

I’ve just had it done for a holiday – not mink, just fakes. They glue it lash by lash onto your lashes. Takes about an hour and looks amazing. Not great for lashes though so despite the fact I love them I’m not planning on keeping them for long…

One of my best friends got eye lash extensions for her wedding. She didbt have to wear mascara so no smudging woes. They looked amazing! If I had crazy amounts of money I would be sorely tempted. And I am crazy frugal. ;)

Kim K used to be curvy previously. That was only one thing I liked about her. Being curvy in skinny and bony Hollywood. But now I think she took her curviness for granted and is jus plain fat. Esp the pic with the belt….she has boobs hanging till her stomach YUCK

  22. Mew says:

Her eyelashes are fake, just like every part of her.

But to get very curved and long looking lashes, curl your lashes tight all along the way (not just one spot) and use waterproof mascara – it’ll hold the curl. Works like magic!

  23. HappyJoyJoy says:

I’ve had the single mink put on, they were made of (colored) fox hair. Crazy expensive but not as rough on your lash bed which is where they apply them and not as heavy as synthetic lashes, so they’re more comfortable to wear. The only thing that irritated me was the glue that they use to put them on, other than that you’re fine, but you have to get the refilled every two weeks or so, other wise you start getting gaps in them, it gets really expensive, but when done in moderation they look gorgeous on. I think Kim over does them because #1 she has the resources #2 not enough class to know a little goes a long way.

  25. As far as the REAL MINK eyelash extensions that KIM has are individually glued on and cost $500 a set not $35 that is clumps of lashes glued on at the same time. Check out this article for more information.http://www.sheknows.com/beauty-and-style/articles/963544/how-safe-are-lash-extensions As far as Kim goes I think most girls are jealous and should analyze themselves and get some real lash extensions.

Wow, very informative. Just googled “Kim Kardashian Paris Hilton.” There are two photos of Kimmy from the side, dancing up on Paris. NORMAL POSTERIOR! Rounded from Spanx but NOTHING like the butt she has now. FAKE! FAKE! FAKE! Why do celebrities lie so brazenly when there are photos everywhere from the past?

To her face…fillers, a lot of them in her cheeks, 2 nose jobs. I think her boobs are fake too. This girl. Sigh

  27. telesma says:

Extensions aren’t attached to the lid. They are painstakingly glued to individual lashes with a special glue that permanently bonds the natural hair to the lash. It takes several hours to apply a full set. And FTR, she’s very obviously had extensions for ages.

  28. gg says:

She’s been doing this for years and has more than most people do in a normal application, resulting in a flutter of lower lashes and practically meshed together with the upper ones. Ridiculous.

Btw, you can’t wear mascara or use a lot of soap or cream with these types of lashes.
