Your skin then overcompensates by becoming extra oily. Her advice is not weird. It is what a dermatologist would say. She’s right! I have oily acne prone skin. It definitely works! Unless you're doing some sweaty or dusty activity after washing your face at night, there's no reason to wash off your skin's natural moisture barrier (just to smear on artificial moisturizer). I apply make-up in the morning, too, and have seen no increase in blemishes from skipping the morning face scrub. A mild, non-astringent toner might be a good compromise for the wary or oily-skinned! I've been washing my face with Dial soap since I was thirteen. Then I rinse the bejesus out of it, get every bit of soap off, rinse some more, pat it dry and slather on jojoba oil. That's it. I left 50 so far behind I can't even remember it any more, and I don't have any wrinkles.
