Here are some photos from about a week ago of Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise out with one of Suri’s school friends (according to one of our photo agencies, but that can’t be right) for a spot of shopping. Notice that Katie has a new pair of fug booties in her arsenal, and I imagine we’ll be seeing those for at least the next year or so. Also, while Tom Cruise is alternatingly so lonely and miserable and cruising for da ladies, a new story from Radar would have us believe that Katie has decided to lay low and not leap back into the dating game for awhile. While this will come as very sad news for those of you who wish she would just get back with Joshua Jackson already, Katie has decided she’s had enough of the opposite sex for awhile, and she’s not merely referring to “old geezers” like Tom either. Call it the Gollum effect:
Katie Holmes is enjoying her new life being single since her divorce from Tom Cruise and has no plans on dating anyone anytime soon, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.
“Katie is just flourishing in her new life,” a source close to the situation tells Radar. “Yes, there have been some dark moments but she was more than ready to embark on the next phase of her life post-Tom Cruise. Katie felt that her professional career suffered because she was married to Tom and that she didn’t have the final say in her acting roles. Katie is currently busy preparing for her role in Dead Accounts.
“Katie believes in love and hopes to get remarried one day but has absolutely no plans on dating anytime soon. Katie is devoted to being the best parent possible to Suri [Cruise] and continuing a smooth transition into their new lives together. Katie knows bringing a new man into the situation would only cause more stress for Suri right now and the actress is still recovering from the end of her marriage to Tom.”

Can one really blame Katie for not wanting to jump back onto the market so soon? Her last experience culminated in her transformation into a mail-order bride where she was essentially married to both Tom and David Miscavige. She’s probably got a good case of PTSD to work through, and dating would obviously only complicate her recovery. Yes, I am saying that being married to Tom Cruise and his cult was a highly traumatic experience, and there’s also the distinct possibility that she had sex with Tom too, which couldn’t possibly have made things any easier. Hell, Tom probably shouted “I feel the need for speed!” at crucial moments. Poor Katie probably needs a good, long break before she’ll ever be able to sleep with anyone again after that little nightmare.

I love the way she always looks like a real mom. Good for her! She appears happy and probably is wise enough not to bring a new man around her daughter for a while.
After finally managing to get away from my controlling, abusive, nasty ex, I didn’t introduce anyone new to my child or ‘lady parts’ for 3 years. Gave me time to get the help I needed and focus on my child and I. Best choice I made, and now I have a much happier home life.

The first sign to me, was when he encouraged her to switch from Oscar Blandi to Ken Paves as her hair dresser. Who fires OB for KP??? What man tells you were to get your hair done? I think of this bc her roots are showing again.
That said – she does look like a real mom now! And Suri a real kid! Leggings!!! A cardigan! She’s dressed like my six year old!!!!
Exactly! And notice how she is wearing weather appropriate clothing and even a sweater? Gone are the days where Katie had to just let Suri make her own decisions because she is an old alien living in a child’s body: AKA Scientology Child Rearing 101.
Now Katie is her mom and makes the choices for Suri-as it should be.

And walking on her own! As far as the price tag on her stuff…she’s the kid of one of the richest man in America, no one should really expect not to be upscale. Just age-appropriate.
If this is true, it’s smart. Focusing on her daughter and her own healing is the best thing. Who needs a man to complicate things!

90% of the time she doesn’t even look like she’s showered – and those boots she was wearing all the time….(which looks like she finally got rid of)….her hair, sometimes if looks like she doesn’t even brush it.

I’ll pull a brush thru my hair in the morning and call it done. Sometimes without a shower, just a whores bath in the sink because it’s easy and quick.
I’ve also been known to wear the same shoes for months at a time. So what?
She looks fantastic and her kid doesn’t have that scared, pinched look on her face anymore.

I think taking a break and focusing on herself and her family is the SMARTEST move she could make for herself. I’ve had way too many friends who jump from one long term relationship to another. Not dating is sometimes much healthier.

Waiting for her to use up her 15 minutes. Although you may all descend on me for saying this, I never felt the way she divorced Tom, then paraded herself for symathy as if she was the innocent victim and even using Suri for in the custody battle was in good taste and it put me off her.
I m not a fan of TC, but I’m not Team Katie either.

Well, your’re entitled to your opinion, though I’m not sure how she “paraded herself for sympathy” If anything Tom is the one I see running to People Magazine with cover stories about his “lonely life”.

I don’t think she had a choice if she didn’t want to end up like the other victims of Scientology and there are many documented victims who’ve lost their children (look at Nicole Kidman)…But I understand that if you don’t believe all those rumors her behavior seems manipulative.

For me its this she wouldn’t have gone to these extremes if she didn’t feel she had no other choice in the matter. I mean if she was putting on an act why didn’t Tom expose it?
I mean if he had nothing sinister to hide I know the Vulture article you’re referring to and I don’t agree with most of it anyways. When the grandson of the founder of Scientology and the niece of Miscavige support Katie in leaving Scientology and Cruise for that matter that means something or are they all liars.
Regardless I do wonder if there’s any truth to the rumor that Katie is going to change Suri’s last name to Holmes.

Katie really, really looks happy and so does Suri. Remarkable difference vs. previous (pre-divorce) photos. She looks like a lot of moms and even has some gray hair in that close up. After Tom and CO$ I would be completely gray. I wish them nothing but the best!!! Go Katie.
Scientology should not bear the full blame. Tom is a verbally abusive control freak, who kept Katie isolated from her family and friends. That alone would be traumatic.
