People Mag: Adele, 24, is “laying low & nesting” ahead of giving birth

Adele surprisingly covers this week’s People Magazine. That’s the power of Adele! She’s been laying low for months, then she quietly recorded the theme song for the new James Bond movie, Skyfall, and the song shoots to #1 and suddenly we’re all talking about Adele again. Anyway, I keep saying that Adele is due at any moment, and I really believe it. Maybe she’ll give birth within the next month or so? And maybe it will be a glorious ginger! Here’s hoping. Anyway, here’s an excerpt of People’s cover story:

Adele may have pleased fans by – finally! – returning with a new single, the James Bond theme “Skyfall,” but the singer has something bigger to be excited about: motherhood.

“She is just thrilled,” an Adele source tells PEOPLE in its latest cover story, about the Grammy-winner’s private world and how she is prepping for her first child.

As the 24-year-old pop star awaits the birth of her baby with boyfriend Simon Konecki, 38, she is happily remaining out of the spotlight.

“She is totally laying low and nesting,” says the source.

Insiders also reveal the secrets of how her chart-topping single came about – and what a joy it was to work with the mum-to-be.

“She spent a lot of time working on it and getting it right,” Skyfall producer Barbara Broccoli tells PEOPLE, adding that Adele even read the movie’s script. “But she was worth the wait.”

[From People]

I love the detail that the Bond producers let Adele read the script. The 007 scripts are kept under close watch, and sometimes the actors don’t even get to read the whole script. But Adele got to read it. And did you know she’s a major film buff? She talked about that in her Vogue interview earlier this year – she loves the gritty films of the 1970s. I’m sure she adores Daniel Craig, who sometimes seems like he stepped out of the 1970s (in a good way).

Oh, and some genius used Adele’s song over the Skyfall trailer. It’s epic!

    I. Love. Her. Always.

    She’s so gorgeous.

  7. Lulu says:

I really don’t get the massive hype with this woman, sure she has a good voice but i generally can’t listen to her songs more than once without wanting her warbling to stop. I also don’t like the new bond theme, just sounds droney and boring to me.

I agree. I enjoy hearing her now and then but there is no way I could listen to a whole album. She is beautiful and has a beautiful voice but for me, only in small doses.

    Her hair…is to die for.

  9. ahoyhoy says:

That trailer is GREAT! They really know how to make you want to pay full price for a movie! The last shot, when he straightens his suit–is PERFECT.

The trailer (and film presumably) is SO ‘Bond’—the exotic locations, foot/car/helicopter chases, explosions, multiple beautiful women, the gunplay, the obligatory scene with Bond in a tuxedo…
This Daniel Craig series of Bond films have been so high quality.
I never thought I’d like a blond Bond. And I thought he was ugly before I ever saw him in motion. Hubba hubba x1000.

  10. BX says:

Adele’s face is everything. Just everything. She is so striking.

  11. Black Pearl says:

At the risk of being yelled at, I have to say that I dont get the hype for the new song, I like Adele and everything but the song is terrible. I was really eager to listen to it after reading about it on Celebitchy but I was very disappointed after. *ducks*

    • telesma says:

I didn’t like it at first, but I think it’s growing on me.

    • kristiner says:

I agree. I like Adele a lot but this song is boring as hell. But today it was on the radio and I found myself singing along.

It’s not hard when she says “if the sky falls, if it crumbles ” on repeat.

But it is awful. The key is just too low to show her voice. It should have been higher like Rolling in the Deep

  12. judyjudy says:

She’s pregnant? She’s only 24? I always thought she was older, probably because she carries herself so well.

    • rainstarr says:

I knew she was pregnant but I thought she was close to 40 with good skin, and that she thought she might have trouble becoming pregnant. She is fine the way she is, but she would be one of those people who, if she looses weight (for whatever reason), will truely look 10 years (at least) younger! Her soul-ful voice sure doesn’t sound 24. I love her voice, but colour me shocked. Surely she’s 34?! Sorry, it is morning her in New Zealand and I’m feeling catty!

    • Ravensdaughter says:

I think it’s her ripe, sexy, sometimes world weary voice-how could a 24 year-old sing like that?

  13. gee says:

She looks outstanding in that last picture. I love her so much.

  14. lucy2 says:

For all of her success, she really has stayed pretty low key and private, hasn’t she? She could have been out running around Hollywood like an idiot every night for the past 2 or 3 years, but she never did all that. Even more reason to like her.

I’m really looking forward to the movie, and the more I listen to the song the more I like it. If it weren’t a Bond theme I probably wouldn’t as much, but the tone of it is just perfect for that franchise.

  15. EmmaStoneWannabe says:

She is a goddess. One day, people will be referring to her voice and music the way people have for years about Etta James and Ella Fitzgerald. True beauty. True icon.

  16. Co says:

    Love her! A TRUE artist.

  17. Star says:

I’m so confused…when she announced her pregancy, she said she was due in September.

I think she had the baby already.

  18. Izzy says:

I love Adele. I love her voice. I love her face. I love her hair. There just isn’t anything about her I don’t like (well, OK, I don’t like that she smokes, or did smoke, but whatever).

  19. the original bellaluna says:

Gorgeous woman; gorgeous voice, and I wish her a healthy and happy delivery!

That African American Bond Girl is BEAUTIFUL! And Ralph Fiennes…le sigh. 😀

    • Ravensdaughter says:

Isn’t that Thandie Newton? No, it’s Naomie Harris (checked on IMDB), but she reminds me of Thandie Newton. Both very beautiful women!

    • Ravensdaughter says:

…and in other news, Sam Mendes directed. Remember “American Beauty”? May have to shell out movie theater money for this one!

    • DM says:

      erm..shes English.
