I haven’t seen new photos of Renee Zellweger or heard ANY gossip about her in months. The last photos we have of her are from the Met Gala in May. But she appeared like a wood sprite last night in NYC for the 29th Annual Fashion Group International Night Of Stars. Renee wore her favorite designer, Carolina Herrera. Much like Halle Berry, Renee’s style is kind of stuck in the same place it was a decade ago. It’s not such a bad thing – she knows what looks good on her, she knows her body. I will say this… Renee’s face looks really good. I’m sure she’s Botoxing, but she’s not overdoing it from what I can see. She looks oddly less squinty too…?
Renee is 43 years old right now… and am I the only one who kind of misses her in movies? For a while there, she was doing really great work. She doesn’t have anything coming out this year. Or next year. Allegedly, she’s going to be doing a third Bridget Jones film (Bridget Jones’s Baby) at some point. Sigh… so she’s probably at this event just because she felt like having a night out. What’s going on with you, Renee?

I like the look better with the jacket, although I do like the structure of everything overall – L’Wren Scott is a great designer. And her makeup is a mess.
And here’s Viola Davis and her husband. V looks good in this black-and-white Max Mara dress! I like when she goes without her wig, but I do have a question: this is a tint, right? She’s getting her natural hair tinted or dyed? Because I don’t like the shade she’s using – I think she should go darker.

It’s sad that any woman over 40 or even 35 in Hollywood gets less work because of their age even though they can act circles around much of the younger girls … there really is no one young ( Maybe Kiera ?) who can act and be under 30 these days.
Whats going on with Hollywood, we need more than fit bodies and pretty faces to make a good movie!

i know! it’s like her eyes are so light blue, that it blends with the whites of her eyes, making the entire eyeball area look neon blue. it’s always freaked me out.

I read that Renee agreed to sign on to a 3rd Bridget Jones movie but only if she wasn’t contracted to gain weight.. WHY!!!
She looks so much nicer with a bit more meat on her. She looks a bit ouchy like this… Plus you need less botox etc if you have more weight on you!
Probably because yo-yo dieting with a lot of weight isn’t good for you? Wrecks your metabolism, makes it harder to lose weight and maintain consistency. Mila Kunis even said she gained more weight after Black Swan, because she had to lose so much for the role. Then when she stopped extreme dieting, her body kind of rebelled.
She gained and lost 30 pounds for each of the other movies… that takes a toll on the body. I’d definitely say no way to the third movie.
personally, think she looks AMAZING with the extra weight, but that’s just me. Since she wants to stay at her thin weight, she should be free to not gain 30 pounds.
While I might watch the 3rd movie (particularly if it has Colin Firth), I have to say that the 2nd was already underwhelming, so I can’t see where they’re going with it. The first movie was great IMHO, but the character or the way RZ portayed Bridget in the second movie was like a parody, everything was exaggerated, including the way she looked.
She could stand to gain 10 lbs., but the 30 lbs. she gained for Bridget Jones was too much for her body type. She had rolls, which is never a good sign.

Renee looks the best she has in years. She was looking too skinny for a while there and then she had that terrible haircut and dated B-Coop. What happened to her career?
I do think that Viola’s hair is dyed that color. A bit darker would look great but I love her either way. She and her husband look like such a happy, dignified couple don’t they?
There have been rumours for years that Renee is bulimic. Bulimics who purge tend to have puffy cheeks and large squared jaws.
If u look at pics from early in Renee’s career, the entire shape of her face has changed. She used to have a longer face, and a more pronounced chin. However, the thinner Renee got the more puffy her face and jaw became. In reality, it should be the opposite. When someone loses so much weight that their collar and back bones are jutting, their face should look gaunt.
What is even more convincing, is that when u look at Renee’s pics from her Bridget Jones days, when she gained 20-30 lbs, her cheeks were actually less puffy than they were when she is thin.
IMO, she is looking much better because she has eased off the purging. Her cheeks are less puffy, which makes her eyes look larger. As well, her jaw is not as squared and her chin is returning.
You could cut meat with Renee’s collar bones seriously. And her, madonna and SJP must use the same ghastly trainer because I just dont see the attractiveness of this new found type of lean and almost gamey body. i could see if they were athletes? i dunno if im maknig any sense or maybe im not old enough yet although im 38 and not that far behind but there is no way i want to look like these women.

My Mama is the same shade as Viola and she LOVES that hair color…any darker and it kinda matches too close to the skin…and generally the mindset is to make the color POP!!!

Just so you know, not all asians have small squinty eyes.
Americans equate Asians to south east/east asians.
Asian Pacific Islanders (Samoan, Tongan, etc). do not have small eyes. And the men are totally hot!
I absolutely love SJP dress, it looks great on her, her skin tone, hair it all is a good look! I wish she would skimp on the eyeliner a little.

I liked her dress/jacket too. I like Renee’s dress except for the neckline. I think I would prefer on the should better. The faux-portrait affect is interesting but the prominent collar/shoulder bone is detracting from it.

Surprisingly I miss Renee too…wierd. And SJP – FOR THE LOVE OF GOD – LAY OFF THE BLACK EYELINER. That is all.

Her personal life seems to overshadow her talent, which is rather sad.

It looks like Renee might have had some eye work. A lot less squinty for sure. I like that dress on her though. SJP’s look works better with the jacket, but it’s still…SJP. I second everyone’s motion of far too much eyeliner too.

RZ would look so much better with even just 5 lbs more! The cut of the dress is nice, would have preferred a deeper shade of blue, maybe like a cobalt blue.
Oh no, the color looks good on her complexion and coloring, but it doesn’t do anything good to her body. It makes her shoulders look kind of boxer-y, if that makes any sense. As to SJP, normally i love nearly everything she wears, but this dress looks so bland and outdated on her, she should get back to her stylish, fashionista self. She looks tired, she should smile some more.
ITA on RZ’s dress, I really don’t think it does much for her figure besides accentuate how thin she is. I’ve seen her dressed in fuller skirts and it balances her out much more.

Whatever Renee had done it looks great. Clearly she’s been “refreshed” but she doesn’t look unnatural. Maybe she took some time off to let it all settle in?

Sara Jessica Parker was always offbeat looking but so so cute in her twenties and thirties. But as she lost the fat in her face as she matured into her forties, her face just looks harsher. I saw her in an interview yesterday outside and was surprised at how much older she looked. She still has amazing style and classy woman.
Renee’s dress is a beautiful color, suits her fair complexion, lovely fabric (what is the fabric?) and design. Can’t fault the dress though think it would look better two inches shorter on Renee. Silver bag and shoes would have been a nicer match. Her hair is darker in these photos than it used to be. She is looking radiant though.
That color is gorgeous and especially so on Renee. And I like the style of the dress as well.
I don’t know about the Botox, but her skin tone is definitely better. She used to have blotchy red skin and this is a great improvement.
I think Renee always looks well put together. I don’t see her as dated, but classic. She also wears a lot of vintage.
Like her dress, love the shoes and purse (they go with the gold jewel in the back of her dress) and love the ring.

I have such a soft spot for Renee. She’s truly talented. I want her to keep going and make more memorable movies. I don’t want ageist Hollywood to abandon her.

Both Renee and SJP need weight on them stat. Renee is lucky in that she has a nice round face which doesn’t age badly when you’re that skinny. When you have a more chiseled long face like SJPs, aging combined with being really skinny just does not look well. It looks gaunt

When my scroll hit SJP, I jumped out of my chair…got flashbacks of her as a witch from Hocus Pocus. THAT FACE. I cannot.
On 1st glance, before clicking on this article, I thought she was Kidman.
And ooohhh Aucoin! The first (and only) “coffee table” book I ever bought was his. I still have it. I remember lookngn through it as an early teen girl and wishing I could have him put my make-up on just for one day!

Wow, Renee looks great – I think she had some eye work done, and she looks fabulous. Much younger than she is too. I don’t mind the dress, but I miss the old CH designs, in recent years I haven’t cared for them.
Viola looks awesome as always, but I agree that darker hair would be even better. Love her.

Renee does look good, but the dress looks like it used to be a nice colour but then faded in the wash. SJP’s outfit is much better with the jacket.
Renee is PERFECTION in these pics! Wow! And I really like SJP’s outfit when worn all together and I think her hair and makeup look great. (I love the highlights/lowlights/ombre shading of her hair and the long flowing waves and deep side part.)
Viola Davis: I see a gorgeous woman in a frumpy, polyester-looking, ill-fitting dress and hair that looks like it was burned off in a fire. Now I do not know anything about this woman, so it’s easy for me to be critical. It’s just a shame to see someone with such a beautiful face and lovely skin making her presentation in a bad outfit and unflattering hair! (Sad! Get her a makeover S.T.A.T.)
I agree, Viola’s dress looks cheap as does her jewelry. The purse and shoes are ordinary.
I love Renee’s dress, but girl should eat something already. Too boney. And she’s got the same “old” hands like SJP. And SJP can quit it with the eyeliner, she’s no longer filming SATC2 in the Mid East.
Renee always looks like she’s halfway into a sneer. I just don’t understand how that happens.

WOW! Renee Zellweger looks really great here. I had never seen any of her movies in her heyday, but during her hiatus I’ve seen Chicago and the Bridget Jones movies…she’s really talented. She was pretty cute back in the day, but this is the prettiest she’s looked since.
I agree with some of you, she looks better with a little more meat on her. Same goes for SJP… a few extra lbs is good as you get older, to fill out your face and body to avoid looking like Madonna lol.

Did anyone see 30 Rock last week? Jenna’s storyline perfectly illustrates this 40-something actress quandary. I thought it was both funny and sharply poignant.

SJP’s dress is interesting but the ensemble is overdone by a striped jacket AND bag! Too many stripes! Plain dark red or black jacket and a clutch bag would have looked better. SJP never seems to get her hair right somehow. It shouldn’t be longer than the bottom of her neck, just on her shoulders.

Loove Renee…she looks amazing for the first time in a long while. I like her with a little meat on her bones. She was scary skinny for a while. When I scrolled down SJP made me jump out of my skin. I find it interesting that Renee is getting so many compliments for an obvious visit to a plastic surgeon, yet SJP is mocked to the ends of the earth, and we know she continually resists the urge to go under the knife. Personally I admire SJP for her choice, just as I feel sort of sad that Renee felt she needed the work done.
I don’t think SJP knows quite how to present her naturally aging face, I am sure there must be someone in the business that could show her how to wear her makeup so that her aging features are accentuated rather than exaggerated.
As for Renee, I am not sure her younger appearance is going to do much for her career, what do you do with a baby-voiced taut-skinned ultra thin 40ish actress these days? She’s not going to be winning any roles away from Jennifer Lawrence (who is like a younger version of herself) and her peer competition is Roberts, Kidman, Watts, Berry, Witherspoon, et al, and they’re not exactly setting the house on fire lately with box office smashes.
