Henry Cavill with unruly curly hair & sweatpants at LAX: would you hit it?

Here are some photos of Henry Cavill at LAX several days ago. Just because. I know some of you really like him, and I thought these were decent pics of him. With his glorious curls and his sweatpants, I kind of think he could pass for a relation of James Marsden, right? I’ve never really noticed the resemblance before. I do think Henry is actually more attractive with some scruff, with his hair kind of wild (and so curly!), and low-key in sweats. I would hit that. Hard. I just realized he falls into my “Dong Kryptonite” criteria: dark hair, light eyes, with an accent. Oh, yes. Come to me, Henry.

Anyway, Henry got name-checked several times in the comments of yesterday’s “Who should play James Bond next?” post. I’ll admit it… I don’t think Henry would be very good as Bond. He can do period-dramas, he can probably even do superhero movies (he’s Superman, after all), but I don’t think he could play James Bond. He’s just too… clean and uncontroversial. He’s perfectly vanilla, you know? That’s what made him a good choice for Superman, the most vanilla of all of the superheroes. Henry chatted with TMZ at LAX – the same time as these photos were taken – about being the first English actor to tackle Superman and whether his curls were real.

The accent is definitely a plus. If he sounded like James Marsden, I wouldn’t be into it.

  1. Danny says:

He is devine, just from physical point of view he’s perfect. He’s nice, polite, doesn’t act like an asshole(looking at Pattinson/Stewart) and is naturally beautiful.

Watch his Dunnhill commercials he did couple of years ago, he basically plays Bond in them and is better at it then all those other options.

    • Aliasvaughn says:

I completely agree. Those Dunhill commercials show it in full. It’s not a coincidence that he was the last man standing against (HORRENDOUS) Daniel Craig for Casino Royale, and Martin Campbell was expecting to do the movie with Cavill, not with Craig. (In fact there is at the very least one scene in the movie that had been written for a way younger Bond than Craig). Cavill is the ONLY choice that makes perfect sense for Bond at this point. He has the exact Fleming looks, the charisma, the style, and he’s a good actor. He better be the next Bond!

      • acp says:

Henry Cavill = gorgeous. No way will Hollywood pick him now to play James Bond after passing him up already; especially since he is now Superman. Rumour has it that Idris Elba (in the BBC series ‘Luther’) may likely be the next Bond. Idris is so stimulating to watch, on every level…

    • Jen34 says:

He is totally devine male perfection.

    • Liv says:

God, I do find him hot. But I’m afraid he’s a bit dumb. Don’t know exactly though, just a feeling.

      • McLane says:

        WTF are you talking about?

He is articulate, polite, dimplomatic in his answers and a gentleman.
        Go read his interviews.
He attended a pretty expensive boarding school that he wouldn’t have gotten into if he didn’t have good grades. He also wanted to study history and speaks fluent French and can converse in German and Italian.

You confuse being professional and staying by the topic of his films for boredom. Too many actors try too hard to make themselves interesting by telling ridiculous jokes and anecdotes and end up looking like douchbags. Prime example Robert Pattinson, Joseph Gordon Levitt, James Franco and even M. Fassbender.

Henry doesn’t like drawing attetion to himself, he’s pretty reserved.

      • LAK says:

@McLane – Pattinson went to a pretty good school too.

      • Liv says:

        Easy, I just said it’s a feeling 😉

I’ve got the impression because his exgirlfriend and his now girlfriend (?) Gina Carano don’t seem to be that bright. There’s a rumour that Carano’s voice was replaced in Haywire, because she was that bad. And I read a few statements of him in interviews which made me wonder.

But hey, I’ll be happy if he’s hot and intelligent 🙂

  2. Carolyn says:

I’ve seen The Tudors. Oh my gosh yes I’d take him in a heartbeat.

Echoing Danny…Henry’s Dunhill ads are hot hot hot. He was second in line to play Bond, funnily enough.

    • Victoria says:

The duke of Suffolk! Yes I’d hit that. I think he’s on my list or I must add him pronto

      • Gaia says:

When Duke of Buckingham catches him and his daugther f-cking and he says:”You violeted my daughter” and Henry responds in that cocky manner “No, no, she bagged”. I died, oh and he was competely naked.

      • Chris says:

Do you know how long I’ve had Tudors in my queue but haven’t gotten around to it? OMG, I am watching it TONIGHT!!!

    • stellalovejoydiver says:

I prefer him with his Tudors figure. I think he looks better with a leaner figure than buff, but he seems to have slimmed down a little bit now.

  3. dooliloo says:

Hit it with the strength of a Kryptonian fairly applies here! LE drool…

  4. Gaia says:

No offense but how can you compare this Adonis
    http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_x136d22U-k/TtqAUAXY4kI/AAAAAAAAGaw/cWEAV0u_s8s/s1600/Theseus_Henry_Cavill.jpg

with the bland dude that is J.Marsden.

  5. Gaia says:

His character in the Tudors was James Bond in the 16th century and his sex scenes were hotter than anything from a Bond film.

There’s nothing vanilla about him. If being polite and non controversial is that to some people then I’ll take him.

  6. Molly says:

Yes, he is totally hot in my books! As for TMZ, why do they ask the dumbest questions???

  7. CamColty says:

Yes yes yes. All day long.

  8. Mia 4S says:

I’m optimistic about Superman this time around. I look at him and can “see” Superman; much like with Christian Bale you could “see” Batman.

I hope it works out for him, he’s hot! 🙂

  9. Waldemar says:

    sigh.

To wake up and see that face first thing every morning…

  10. Mary says:

Wow, how has this guy never been on my radar before? He is yummy. In that third pic, he kinda looks like Matt Bomer.

    • Sara says:

Watch the Tudors, the first episode alone will give you an orgasm or a heartattack.
The Immortals is also awesome, his body is godlike in that film.

  11. only1shmoo says:

Oh YES, this Henry is definitely schtoopable! I agree that he’s a bit too squeaky clean and ‘vanilla’, but if he had a rough streak to him in addition to his physical perfection, I’d be a raving lunatic over him, so it’s probably better this way.

  12. Abby says:

Yes. I always get him mixed up with Matt Bomer, but I’ve LOVED him since he was the son of Jim Caviezal in The Count of Monte Cristo. Swoon.

  13. Gracie says:

I read something somewhere about how he ridiculed one of his fan’s friend or something like that, because she was heavier, so since then, no way.

    • Gaia says:

That’s bullshit from ONTD, take a look at his ex fiance Ellen Whitaker, that girl ain’t a twig, actually she’s very curvy almost chubby.

      • Gracie says:

That’s never stopped someone from making disparaging remarks about someone’s weight. It’s all so common, the person who ridicules heavy people, when he/she used to be heavy themselves or have heavy relatives.

      • Jane says:

So your judging him because someone said that on the internet and there’s no proof that’s actually a fact?

I’ve never seen anyone saying anything bad about him.

Usually there’s a pattern in someone’s behaviour that shows up frequently and that was the only time something bad was written about him.

    • Debra says:

and I read that because he was heavy as a child and was picked on.. that he is more compassionate about things like that… someone would have to have him on tape before I would believe he was making fun of a fan’s weight

    • Jenn says:

Yeah because everything you read on the Internet or the tabloids is obviously true…

      • Gracie says:

It’s just my opinion of him, calm the hell down. It could be true or not, it’s how I feel. Lest we forget, this is celebitchy.

  14. Gwen says:

Yes, I’d hit it and yes, he could and should be the next Bond.

  15. emmie_a says:

IMO there’s no comparison between Henry Cavill to James Marsden. Henry is a hot hunky guy who I’d hit in a second and James is just another pretty boy.

  16. Vee says:

    Henry! Love him, so delicious!

  17. Gm says:

    OMG YES!! Would hit!

  18. Amy says:

He is so gorgeous, like a greek god!
I read somewhere that he is now dating Gina Carano from Haywire, apparently they have been seen together a few times on what looked like dates. But who knows…

  19. MJsinAustin says:

yes! over and over and over again.

  20. momoftwo says:

I had never found him attractive until this video! You are right – the scruff…the curls…the accent… He is so much hotter in action! And he’s taller than I thought he would be.

Wow – now I’m excited for superman!

  21. aims says:

He’s been on my list for a long time. He’s hot as hell, and not a prick. I’m also a sucker for an English accent. I also heard, he and his fiance broke up! Back on the market people!

  22. Eve says:

I think he can’t act his way out of a wet paper bag.

    • Elle says:

That’s actually not true. He’s a great actor when he’s not trying to be an action star.

His best scenes on The Tudors were the quiet, romantic scenes. That is his strength.

Problem is…he seems to be trying to be an action star and he’s a forgettable, awful action star.

He’s actually perfect for Superman if the Superman franchise plays up the Clark Kent persona and the Lois/Clark love story. ( Which is what they should do since that’s the one thing that makes Superman a much sweeter franchise than many of the other generic hero franchises. ).

I just think he seems to want to make the wrong kind of movies.

      • LAK says:

It’s a pity then that Zack Snyder directed this upcoming SUPERMAN because action is all he is good for and creepy, unnecessarily mysogynistic depiction of women.

Has anyone ever notices that there is a rape or near rape scene in all Zack Snyder’s films??

my heart sank when i found out that he was the director. i really wanted to see Cavill in this role but i can’t watch Snyder films.

      • Eve says:

        @ Ella:

“That’s actually not true. He’s a great actor when he’s not trying to be an action star”.

I expressed my opinion, therefore *MY* truth — hence the fact I started my original comment with “I think” (it’s right there, very clear). How can you say somebody else’s opinion isn’t true? That doesn’t even make sense. All you had to do was saying you disagreed with me, not something like that.

I repeat: I THINK he can’t act his way out of a wet paper bag. Wooden, lacks charisma and sometimes downright risible during dramatic scenes. His “acting” is awful, almost painful to watch, in my opinion.

Even worse than Robert Pattinson, that’s how bad I think Cavill is.

    • Christina says:

      Eve, you’re 100% correct.

Physically, Cavill is close to perfection. As an actor, however, he’s simply terrible. So wooden and unconvincing that he made Jonathan Rhys Meyers look like Lawrence Olivier in ‘The Tudors’. And Rhys Meyers is no great shakes in the acting dept either!

It’s lucky for Cavill that he looks the way he does. Because if he didn’t, he’d probably be stacking shelves in his local supermarket. Certainly not making millions as an ‘actor.

      • Jane says:

        Complete nonsense.
JRM overacted in every scene. All he did was screaming. Henry played his character totally opposite and his character was the only one that grew as a person and changed. I loved his calm demeanor.

      • Christina says:

I never said JRM was a good actor – you’re right, he did completely overact. That doesn’t mean that Cavill was any better. In my opinion, he was completely unconvincing, and portrayed no complexity whatsoever. Being ‘calm’ (whatever that means) doesn’t mean you’re a good actor.

Some of the scenes where Cavill and JRM acted together were so bad they were good. There’s a scene, where Cavill approaches JRM to tell him of rumours about Anne’s behaviour with men. ‘What is truth, Charles?’ JRM inanely asks, as the former dumbly frowns. Unintentionally comical.

  23. Debra says:

I don’t care if he’s scruffy in sweats, or clean cut in a 3 piece suit….with a buzz cut or messy curls….He’s HOT HOT HOT

  24. GoodCapon says:

He pulls off the scruffy look.

The Tudors wasn’t really that good, I’m not ashamed to admit I only watched it because of Henry

    • wild flower says:

I freaking loved the Tudor series. I had a hard time accepting JRM as Henry VIII because he’s too small. Henry should have been Henry!

  25. bns says:

Sorry, but I don’t find him attractive at all.

  26. LadyAnne says:

    HELL YEAH !

  27. Stacie says:

He’s so damn beautiful ! He makes me smile and swoon . 🙂

  28. Mirella says:

    Hell yes!

  29. kpist says:

    Oh yeah

  30. Christina says:

Gimme, gimme, gimme!! He is delicious.

  31. Linda says:

Oh goodness I love this man! I hope my future husband looks something like him…sigh…

  32. Kalas says:

He has 4 brothers but none of them looks like him. He hit the jackpot. His mother was a bombshell in her modeling days, he looks like her.

  33. Sweet Dee says:

Gah, I HATE sweatpants. Take them off*!

    *other pants optional

  34. Amy says:

Uh, apart from being a white male with brown hair, he looks nothing like James Marsden.

    He’s gorgeous, but I think I prefer him scruff-free.

  35. jacquie109 says:

Always, all day, every day. That man is incredible!!!

  36. kingkayski says:

I’m willing go back to Tudors era just to hit that!…Hard!

  37. Roo says:

Not getting the Marsden reference either. He’s adorable and I think he could pull off James Bond.

  38. Malaney says:

he was perfection in tudors but sadly america has turned him into a stereotype meathead.

  39. Katie says:

Any day, baby. Any. Day. He’s so gorgeous!

  40. kate says:

    yes, so hot.

and love that he doesnt have to be preppy, hipster or any of that nonsense…..he is just comfortable for what was probably a long flight.

  41. Romy says:

I read an interview with Diana Acrey. She was the key hairstylist for Man of Steel. She said Cavill was the easiest star she ever worked with and has great hair.

  42. j.eyre says:

    *sigh* yes,please.

  43. I'm going to Guam! says:

    He is so dreamy *_*

  44. bigt says:

Yes. Very manly. So much hotter then Marsden or Slowbinder. Fine with scruffy. Big yes.

  45. Chordy says:

I think he looks like a cross between Jude Law & Aaron Rodgers. In other words – perfect Superman!

  46. wolfe1971 says:

The next Bond needs to be Gerard Butler!!

    • Camille (TheOriginal) says:

I couldn’t think of anyone worse than Spittle Butler playing Bond, yikes. I can just imagine him now spitting all over his co-stars while delivering dialogue. Gross.

    • LAK says:

Gerard has already done Bond. he plays a hench man in TOMORROW NEVER DIES. Bumped off very quickly, but he is in there longer than blink and you miss.

  47. LucyOriginal says:

If Cavill is vanilla… Vanilla is my new favorite flavor.

  48. Camille (TheOriginal) says:

He *is* vanilla, BUT he is much, much more attractive and he has something a little bit *extra* about him than all of the Chris Evans/James Marsden etc types ie: charisma. I loved his accent too.

  49. wild flower says:

Holy dimples people. I was about to leave this site and decided to look at the airport video that I’d passed on. He’s got gorgie dimples. Now that’s my kryptonite. Oops, spell check is telling me he’s my krypton.

  50. ToastedSkin says:

he actually reminds me a lot of Justin Bartha. I would still hit it, both of them.

  51. lolo says:

The most beautiful man in Hollywood! I hope Superman makes him a star.

  52. lori says:

Watched the first episode of Tudors to see if he lived up to the hype on here. Ovaries have exploded!

  53. MJsinAustin says:

    ALL NIGHT LONG!

  54. isabel says:

I think he has to improve his personal selections, I mean… have to say that (if it’s true that they were or are dating) I don’t like Gina Carano (not talking about as a fighter, worker, etc) the first word that came to me when I saw a picture of her was s**t, I mean, not a lady :-/ Hope she’ll be happy her entire life but I don’t think-feel that she is the kind of woman for him… Then, the first time I saw a picture of Ellen Whitaker (his ex fiancé) I thought nice but not for him(at least a lady lol) And well, time gave me reason… Thanks God, they didn’t get married (and then a divorce? no please :-/)
    well, it’s just my appreciation…

and also, I really hope Superman will be his BIG time! he deserves it!

  55. kelly says:

He can definitely play Christian Grey after watching that Dunhill commercial!!

  56. Kiki says:

He is handsome but boring. And not much of an actor.

  57. lexi says:

he is very hot, he reminds me of matt bomer
