Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber welcome another son

Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber have welcomed their second child, a baby boy, on Saturday in New York.

“I can confirm Naomi and Liev had a baby boy yesterday,” said the actress’s rep.

A couple since 2005, Watts, 40, and Schreiber, 41, already have a baby boy, Alexander Pete Schreiber, born July 26, 2007.

There is no word on the baby’s weight or name, their previous son was named Pete after Naomi’s father. Wiki reports that the boy is named Nicholas Isaac, but the source listed doesn’t actually reveal the baby’s name. If that’s their new son’s name, they’ve chosen something sensible and classic that defies the unusual baby name trend.

Naomi and Liev declined to sell their first son’s baby pictures, although they happily allowed him to be photographed at two weeks of age when shopping at Brentwood Country Mart. Naomi has also never confirmed either pregnancy, allowing her blossoming belly to do the talking for her.

Congratulations to Naomi and Liev on their new arrival!

Congratulations to the couple! I genuinely like these two – they work in a very quirky way.

I had a feeling the baby was due soon when naomi’s mum arrived in new york city. congratulations to liev and naomi! 😀

Thats great! I’m really happy for them. I love Naomi, and i love that she is her own person and always does her own thing, wish more peeps in Hollyweird were more like her.

I love both of them as actors. Just the other day I saw ‘Mulholland Drive’ and was stunned by Naomi Watts’ performance. If they do half as good as parents, then there’s a lot of happiness to come!

The “unusual baby name” trend that led Minnie Driver to name her son “Henry”? Or Reese Witherspoon & Heather Locklear to go with “Ava”? Come on. Just like your local elementary school, some parents like more traditional names and some parents go farther a field. It’s not a celebrity thing, it’s a parent thing. Watts and Shreiber named their first son Alexander Pete, it’s unlikely they’re pulling out some horror like Zuma for number two.

They are one of the few couples I like. I wonder if they will try for a girl in the future.

  7. Leandra says:

They seem the type of people who would pick a name more livable for the child -unlike the ghastly ones some have picked – Zuma Nesta or Bronx Mowgli. Even Nicole Kidman’s choice of Sunday Roast is quite awful…oops I mean “Rose”

I’m very happy for them, they’re both great actors and very nice, down to earth people. Nicholas would be very nice, IMO. I’m tired of weird celebrity baby names.

  9. Kaiser says:

Ohhh… congrats. It seemed like she was pregnant *forever* – I wonder if the baby was late.

Hope they do name him Nicholas, it’s one of my favorite boy names.

I love how she never confirmed her pregnancy. I just think its so funny!
