Isaiah Washington says: I am an idiot, please don’t fire me

I wanted to avoid talking about this, because homophobes are so 1987, but Isaiah Washington called his co-star on Grey’s Anatomy, T.R. Knight the f word while they were on set back in October, prompting a fight with fellow star Patrick Dempsey, who came to Knight’s defense. Knight has since come out of the closet, making Washington look like even more of a douche.

Then during a Golden Globes interview, Washington invoked the terrible f word again while denying that the incident happened, and tried to backtrack by saying how much he loves the gays.

Their other co-star Katherine Heigl chimed in, saying Washington should STFU about it and not ruin everyone’s special night. ABC was forced to issue a statement saying they have a good work environment and don’t condone Washington’s behavior, and Washington has finally apologized with a statement admitting that he is the idiot that everyone has been calling him.

Here’s Heigl’s second statement about it. She says they need to stop talking about it, it’s hurtful, and that T.R. is her “best friend in the whole world.”

Can they fire this guy and can we move on now?

  1. It’s not all bad Isiah, at least Mel Gibson isn’t weighing in with his two cents about how much he identifies and sympathises with you.

    Be glad for small favours.

  2. The topic has BORED me to the point where I don’t even want to WATCH the show anymore. It’s the LONGEST drama. It’s like a scab that doesn’t get cured. But what suprises me, is that this kind of stuff happens in EVERY work environment.

This is NOT about the “f” word, it’s about a group of adults who can’t work together and their bickering is going to hurt this show.

Personally, this should have been settled months ago. Shondra Rhimes should have killed this feud a LONG time ago. My advice to Isiah — you should not leave the house without your publicist to tame your mouth. Same goes for Katherine Heigl — the camera is not place to reprimand co-workers — no matter what “camp” you are on.

Had this been taken care of, TR Knight would have not gone on Ellen for a sympathetic ear.

Hope this gets cleared up and we can all resume our lives.

  3. Isaiah Washington is awfully hot with sweet torso which he gladly goes shirtless with all over GA … and his wife is stunningly gorgeous … I think he should get some gay friendly points back for that … mind his ps and qs …and do a gay role with gartutitous nufdity … and then everything is even steven …

  4. I really seems to me to have influenced the show. I used to love it, but somewhere along the way it lost “the funny”. Now it’s just angsty and dull. I feel bad for T.R. because I think doors were really opening for him before as an unlikely but cute leading man. They’ll be shut now.

  5. I wouldn’t have cast either one of them. People like to watch shows with hot men. T. R better hope he can keep this job, because producers don’t like to cast gay men in straight roles. Its been in the tabloids forever, which cements my belief that most of the stuff in the tabloids is true. As for Isaiah he’s a has been anyway. I everytime I try to watch the show I get really bored. The writing is horrible. It’s not in the caliber of ER, but people are watching it for the bed hopping or it makes their dreams come to life that fat and ugly people can get laid too.

  6. Listen, I hear everyone. This season the show has jumped the shark. There was something not clicking with me this season. It has NOTHING to do with this gay drama. I dont’ care who called who what. So what if TR is gay. I don’t know.. this season is dull…

SOme shows go through a “funk” and it’s Grey’s year I guess.

  7. Get over this shit and quit making this bigger than what it is. I think it is quite interesting that he is the one of the only black on the show. People seem to think this that important to make it an serious issue. He has a right to his first admendment speech folks. Like it or not. When Michaels called everyone a nigger I didn’t hear this much shit from these people on this blog stand up against that shit. Believe me I had a gay brother, however, I don’t think calling someone a faggot is that deep. Perhaps dude was already out on the set and everyone knew it! That argument is between those two. Get over it!
