Agree with several of the rebuttals above. Sounds like completely made up nonsense. They’ve had a good professional relationship for years and it’s unlikely to suddenly disappear.

Instead of paying in dollars, these d**ks shld. be paid in ego allowance. He is a good actor after I am into the movie & forget it’s Crowe, which in and of itself good acting. He is a self-absorbed, egotistical jerk. Tom Cruise is a jerk in his way, yet he consistently shows on set, ready to work & pleasant to work with. Stay in New Zealand and earn your money there where you spend it rowe.

Agree with HEL, I think this story is complete and utter bullshit. Russell might be opinionated and hot-tempered but he’s also a professional. He gained weight for Body of Lies, not because he decided to let himself go, re: the part about Ridley telling him he’s too fat. The current long hair is for Nottingham.

You aren’t taking this story seriously, are you?

It was lifted directly from an episode of Entourage, in which Ari Gold tries to get the director of a movie fired because he is messing with his client, Vince. As a result of the conflict, the project is canceled. The Entourage writers should be demanding royalties from the Post.

Beyond the obvious plagiarism, there are multiple holes in the story. Crowe couldn’t get Scott fired from the film, even if there were some mythical falling out. As the director, the film is Scott’s project. Although Body of Lies did modestly at the box office, Crowe and Scott’s previous film together, American Gangster was a hit. Besides which, Russell Crowe is no Ari Gold.

How can they be “clashing over Crowe’s on-set antics” when they haven’t started filming yet?? Ridley is also a grumpy arrogant sod, which is why they like working together – as Ridley and Russell have said on more than one occasion. This story is a load of rubbish.

I believe the saying is don’t bite the hand that feeds. Russell would do well to remember that. I imagine that LA is small enough that if Ridley wanted to, he could probably make it difficult for Crowe to find big budget/big director roles. Or maybe not. But he should remember that he’s a professional and not a 12-year old girl
