Jennifer Aniston was one of presenters-to-watch before the red carpet even began. Everybody had such high hopes, and then she arrived on the red carpet and everybody was like, “Oh. Now I remember. She always looks the same.” When she first arrived, I only saw her from the waist up and I thought she looked so much like THIS – an old Emmys look from, like 1999. Like, I thought she was wearing the same Prada gown that she wore more than a decade ago. But this Valentino was different – it was a different kind of gown for her. She usually doesn’t do the big, full skirts. But other than that, it was exactly the same. I can’t believe she didn’t change it up AT ALL with her hair or makeup – there was nothing “special” about how she styled herself for the Oscars. It was so weird.
Speaking of EXACTLY THE SAME, Justin Theroux put his hand on Jennifer’s stomach and now everyone is like “OMG PREGNANT”. Decide for yourself. I do like Justin better with a beard – although it looks like he’s trying to copy Ben Affleck and George Clooney, right? Like, this looks exactly like Ben’s beard.
Also wearing a shade of red (but it looks more coral here)? Kerry Washington in MiuMiu. This was actually one of my favorite looks of the night! Kerry did something to take away those horrible bangs she had throughout the Oscar season (maybe the bangs were detachable?), and her dress moved beautifully. I think she’s gained some weight back after looking too slender as well. All in all, Kerry was one of the best looks of the evening!

Frenchy, idk… she def had a nose job and lost a LOT of weight, which can really change a person’s face. But pluck out half of those eyebrows and get some quality make up people and she looks about the same. She is SUPER thin and would look so much better with 5-10 lbs.. I love her. LOVE her..lol..

I really can’t tell if she’s had nose work done, or just painfully skinny. But it does seem like she’s had a very pinched-lip thing going on for a while. It’s totally distracting.

I disagree. I like the whole look. She doesn’t look done or overdone like everybody else. She looks fresh and lovely. I like the dose of nonchalant and “I don’t care” attitude. It’s nice to see her wearing strong color. BTW beard is a beard. There is no such a thing like “Affleck beard” or “Clooney beard”. You are just mean.

Jen’s hair always looks so brittle and broken. You can see the broken ends fly up on the top. Why is that? Sun or brushing damage?
A beard is not just a beard. Certain men really make a style beard their own and then we associate that shape and style beard with that person. We’ve all done it. You’re just not aware that you have.

Jennifer can’t win either way. If she’d gone all out, with a big, spectacular gown everybody would have been like: ‘Ow, look at JA being all LOOK AT ME while she’s not even a nominee.’ I liked her look, actually. She looks classy and modest and a lot more festive than all those nude-colored-gown ladies.
As for her being pregnant: ugh. I thought we already established that she’s not interested in having kids.

It’s called ‘Stumpy.’ I’ve always thought she looked that way when in strapless dresses. People need to realize that Jennifer Aniston is only a couple of inches taller than Reese Witherspoon. But Reese is (usually) dressed appropriately for her body type and height, ‘and’ she has a waist. The blue dress Reese wore last night, however, was inappropriate for her height and body. I was surprised her stylist let her leave the house in that dress.
Jennifer has always tried to dress ‘taller’ than her height (hence, all of those 5″ heels), probably hoping the illusion would keep people from realizing just how ‘stumpy’ she really is. The illusion was easier for her to keep while she was younger, but at a certain age ‘short’ people just look short (Dustin Hoffman, Tom Cruise etc).
And before you guys start in, this isn’t hate (I really don’t hate Jen, I’d just like her a bit more if she stood on her own two feet) it’s just observation and my opinion.

Maybe her jaw, but not her cheeks. My sister has the same face shape, complection, and prominant cheek bones. And when she lost a lot of weight, her cheek bones became very visible, like Kerry’s. Thank goodness she gained her weight back.
Some people’s faces looks better with more meat on it, and Kerry is one of them.

I agree the hair and the gown were a bit mismatched but I, personally, don’t think she looks very good with her hair up in anything more than a ponytail, which I think would have been inappropriate for the dress and neckline. She dresses safe, like I do. I can’t pull flashy off.

But that hair argh!! She needs to sake her hairstylist.. Its either a case of him being too lazy or she just refusing to go out of her comfort zone when it comes to her hair.
A better hairstyle and a statment necklace would have made this overall look pop

I don’t know… She has naturally wavey/curly hair like mine, and I just took a flat iron to mine out of boredom, and I had a bunch of those little short fly-ups too. And for the record, I don’t use a brush ever, or color my hair. And I use a LOT of good moisturizer. We have had Santa Ana conditions here in CA and the dry air can make anyone’s hair stand on end!

I’m surprised that people are surprised that she did and looked the way she always does and has. If she was going to make some change it would have happened by now.
And the whole baby watch is old. I don’t think 44 is old by any means. But for a woman 44 to be having her first child is huge and her fans should really stop. I thought she had another movie lined up.

Nicole Kidman & Naomi Watts are her contemporaries, and they ALWAYS change it up on the red carpet. They both take risks with hair, make-up, and gown and it’s refreshing.

I too wish Aniston would do something with her hair (and I think the dress was a nice step outside her norm, and would have been great with an updo). She must have serious hair security blanket issues, such that she only thinks she’s pretty with it down.
But Kaiser, I can’t believe you liked Kerry’s look. I thought the dress was cute but nothing special, and I found HER hair way more irritating than Aniston’s — it didn’t even look like she’d bushed it! And I really don’t think she’s gained any weight, she still looks scary-thin in her face and upper body.

I don’t know if you saw or watch E! and their ‘off the red carpet’ path to party, but you could clearly see the tracks from her extensions in the back of her “amazing” hair. There was a big chunk stuck/parted around the extension. It was pretty funny to see because everyone forever has been all OMG about her hair. And, btw, I’m surprised no one tried to get a better picture of her massive cloudy quartz looking ring..??

Not impressed with Aniston’s dress. I didn’t really know what to expect, and I have to hand it to her, she did surprise me. But it’s boring, weirdly cut, and a too orangey shade of red. Not pleasing to the eye, and the very full skirt clashes with her lowkey styling.
Also, her belly seems to be bulging under that tailored bodice… I’m predicting another round of bumpwatch. To those that say it’s not possible to conceive at 44 : my aunt had her first child at 44, without any fertility treatments. So it is possible. However, it’s not easy, and she would need to be trying, which seems highly unlikely to me. She just doesn’t seem interested in children. So, I say not pregnant, and wear some spanx, lady !
As for Kerry, meh. It’s not ugly, but it doesn’t stand out that much either.

I liked Jen’s dress – perfect for a presenter. Her hair and makeup looked good, but for everyday, not the Oscars. I agree a bit more effort there would have been nice.

Aniston’s make-up was bland yet what was up with the overdone and clumpy mascara? Looked horrible.
For whatever reasons Aniston doesn’t want to highlight her facial features. But at some point she needs to just go with it – someone like Anne Hathaway is also far from beautiful with some odd features but she accepts it and goes with it and Anne usually ends up looking stunning.
Same sense of masking with Aniston’s hair – she doesn’t want to risk showing her ears – they are huge.
Red dress or not Aniston behaves like she is hiding. She is quite the contradiction because she seems to seek attention but she also betrays a reluctance to go all out from her hair to her washed out face, to her slumpy posture, to her insecure and inarticulate speech. She didn’t go into decades of therapy for nothing it would seem.
Sadly for an actor, this reluctant or reticence shows in her acting.

I really liked Jen’s dress. Very different from her normal choices. She should have changed up her hair — gone really full or a nice loose chignon. On the whole I thought she looked great. I like Justin’s beard. They make a very attractive couple.

I like JA’s dress; very pretty. I also like her hair and makeup. I like her natural look; prefer that over caked-on makeup and too-tight clothes (see KK). Can you imagine what KK would have looked like? Also like Justin’s beard. Also her “belly” might be due to her age; it’s harder to take it off as you get older and she might be relaxing on her workouts like most of us do when we have a steady bf.

Despite the blandness of the make-up you can see in close-ups that her make-up does look caked on – especially the eye lashes. The facial make-up is clearly visible and it’s not natural looking.
How can her skin look that rough when she has spent so much attention on it – she has herself said she has laser treatments to smooth it out and it’s clear she uses fillers and who knows what else.
Unfortunately I think she just has bad genes for skin.

I have to ask: Why was Jennifer Aniston at the Oscars? I don’t dislike her by any means. But she has never been nominated, she makes boring movies and she’s not a particularly talented actress. Sally Kirkland has more of a right to be walking that red carpet than Aniston does. Not all those who participated in the show walked the red carpet. Russell Crowe an Oscar winner and 3 time nominee who performed last night chose to skip the red carpet. Unless I missed it I also didn’t see Barbra Streisand walk the red carpet. Did Meryl Streep walk the red carpet – if she did I missed that as well.
The red carpet should be reserved for nominees and past winners and nominees.

Yes she has, but very,very rarely.
It is mostly down, and when she wears it up it makes her face look worse than usual because you can see how weird the shape is.
Most of the time half her face is covered in her hair.
And her saying Kim Stewart calling her homely ruined her night and her constant wearing of scarfs over THAT chin tell be she has problems in the coincidence department.

When has Jennifer Aniston ever worn her hair up out of her face?? And I’m not talking about “Friends,” where the decision wasn’t hers, I’m talking about events or on the Red Carpet. I would dearly love to see pictures of her out and about with her hair up. Photos?

You know… I think if she wore her hair up, she and we would find she at least has an interesting face. Trying to conform to the increasingly narrow definitions of beauty is doing none of us any favors.

Jennifer looks understated and I think it worked for her. However, I do think I would of went with a softer color to highlight her perennial hint of tan she always sports.

I understanding she was a presenter, so being too flashy would be ‘uncool’. BUT man, can we please have some variance in the hair for these kind of events. I mean i’ve seen her do a bun, a pony tail and gorgeous waves. Could it have killed her? she’s selling hair products! Look like it, please!
Otherwise, i really like the gown – it’s not her usual style, and she was glowing (Celebitchy as usual gets the worst shots – go to gettyimages for better ones).

Even as a presenter for 30 seconds, JA looks so out of place among “real” actors. Yes she makes a ton of movies, but lacks movie-star quality. TV – specifically, a big ensemble – is where she belongs.

Also, she did not seem at all happy to be there. She seemed uncomfortable walking the red carpet (perhaps because she was “only” a presenter), and even her presentation seemed a little off.

I liked Jen’s dress, but I agree that a loose chignon and a side part would have looked better…ooomph it up a bit. That hair down look is a bit tired on her now. Actually, I don’t that that poofy look suits her…she would have looked better with a slimmer dress imo. Her looks dry at top too. Hm. I don’t know, maybe she just can’t be bothered.

How old is JA? In her early forties, right. Getting pregnant for the first time will be a difficult task. Surogacy would be more likely for her if she wants a child. I don’t understand the constant pregnancy stories and don’t follow her enough to know if she is the one playing the press as suggested. Is this so from those in the know?
I like the color of the dress but wish like many that she would have done something different with her hair.

the best joke of the night wasnt from Seth! it was that Jenn presented the award for hair and makeup!!!!!! she was in her “Friends” hair, and didnt even use some “gel hands” to smooth the top down!! Plus her tan makeup makes her look like “tan mom”. sorry, would it KILL you to cut the hair? What, did she have a heart attack when Keri Russell cut her hair and said “NOT ME EVER”? i mean, at this point, she should realize she will never do anything but present, if she doesnt cut the dumb Barbie hair and maybe have her face cool to pale and play a serial killer or something!!! Does she have NO ONE telling her, “enough with that hair already”?????

Ok BESIDES that the camera wouldnt pan back even a quarter of an inch during Hathaways speech so she didnt show her Madonna cones, was Maniston, stuck in the ’90′s, giving the award for hair and makeup, while doing “that thing” where she sweeps the front of her hair out of her eyes. Jennifer Aniston was such a bore! she looked exactly as she looks for any event. I hated Kerry’s hair, there was something wrong with it, but the dress was gorgeous. I also think Justin looks a lot better with a beard.

I actually love the dress & the jewelry. However, I think the hair ruins the whole look! It is way too casual of a look with such a beautiful gown.
I don’t know if it was the lighting or bad make up, but she truly looks like she has done a number on her face with all the sunbathing. IMO, there is a huge difference between aging gracefully & sun damage. I can’t put my finger on it, but she doesn’t have a ‘healthy appearance’.

Completely agree.
Had this dress been on a tall, slender woman like Charlize it would have looked great. But on Aniston it looks frumpy and stumpy.
If she had worn her hair in soft waves like Reese or had it up off her face the whole look would have been much better.
On a plus note, her man friend looks much better with the beard.

What the most people dont understand , if aniston does something different with her hair, an up do or something like this, you would see the very manly shape of her face and thats what she trys to aviod since shes been compared all the time with angelina and we all know she cant win. shes not ugly but if the media compares you all the time with someone like The Jolie, come on, who wouldnt be uncomftable with that? We can look at older pics, jen had her hair up and a pony tail and her face looked very very manly.

That is because she IS boring.Jennifer’s movies are boring and so is her personal style,hair make up,etc.She is an expert in playing it safe.Jennifer would no more wear an exciting dress than star in a good dramatic movie Like The Impossible or Zero Dark Thirty that could actually get a nomination.

I usually stay far away from anything Jennifer Aniston, but this dress was….so awful. The only thing I can think of when I look at her is that it looks like she was out with friends trying on bridesmaid dresses. That weird moment when you’re standing in a dressing room in a really pretty dress trying to imagine what a pair of great heels and the right jewelry and hair would do for it. It’s also way, way too young for her. Not that I’m saying she’s old, but this is suited for someone much more youthful and elegant, not beachy and laid back.

The fabric of JA’s dress is so odd – like recycled plastic. I don’t like the color of it, at least, not on her. But Justin – HE is the true bobblehead here! What an unappealing, stubby, oily looking man he is. He looks peevish when he isn’t smiling and forced and creepy when he is, with (I think) badly done fake teeth. And his body is so oddly disproportionate in clothing – not going to even think about him without!

Just to be truthful for a minute and not quite as bittchy as usual. The flowing red dress on Aniston made a fantastic contrast in the circle of black on the stage. It was the perfect choice and I thought her simple long flowing hair was a nice match for the dress.
