Liberty Ross complains to friends: ‘You have no idea what I’ve been through’

Here are some new photos of Liberty Ross leaving a dentist’s appointment yesterday, looking much more covered up than she did at the Vanity Fair Oscar party. Remember that? Liberty wore a dress that was completely see-through from the waist up. She was “advertising” as my mother would say. Like, I put a lot of emphasis on my boobs and my cleavage when I’m dressing, but I would never have the balls to basically have my boobs flapping in the wind in the middle of a huge Hollywood party. So maybe we should give Liberty some credit for being hardcore? Or was it just super-tacky? Anyway, Us Weekly/Hollywood Life has some interesting details on Liberty’s actions throughout Oscar night – apparently she was complaining about all of the crap she’s been through and then she was surrounded by male models.

Liberty Ross looked stunning at the Vanity Fair Oscar party on Feb. 24, rocking a see-through revenge dress, but the model, who filed for divorce from her philandering husband Rupert Sanders just one month before, is still upset about her current situation!

According to Us Weekly, while she was at the Chanel dinner at Madeo on Feb. 23, Liberty, 34, got choked up while speaking to another guest, saying, “You have no idea what I’ve been through. It’s been horrible.” She was clearly referencing the upheaval her life has faced ever since Rupert was caught cheating with Kristen Stewart.

It wasn’t all tears for Liberty that night, though! An eyewitness at Mario Testino’s preview at Prism Gallery, held the same night, told HollywoodLife.com exclusively, “Liberty Ross arrived alone, but was quickly surrounded by men once inside. She hung on the upstairs outdoor patio and got chatted up by three handsome male models.”

As previously reported, Liberty’s trying to move on from her public humiliation, choosing, instead, to focus on her children. “That girl’s extremely mature,” our source told us. “She’s handled all this public tragedy in her life with grace and humility for the sake of her children. I toast to her.”

“All she’s focused on right now are her children [Skyla and Tennyson] and her future,” the insider said, adding, “She’s spoken to Rupert by phone and the conversations were all business – trying to discuss the arrangements for the children.”

“The good thing about Liberty is that she’s not upset anymore,” the source said. “She’s had time to get over the initial shock and awe of it when it was exposed last year and the divorce was the nail in the coffin.”

[From Hollywood Life]

Beyond the male models chatting her up, I still think Liberty is kind-of dating legendary music mogul Jimmy Iovine, who is super-rich and like 25 years older than her. I think Liberty is just having a moment of having her cake and eating it too – she waited patiently until she got over the shock of her husband’s infidelity, then filed for divorce, and now she’s living it up and seeing what opportunities are out there for her, sexually and otherwise. Good for her.

PS… Those stonewashed jeans with zippers are making a comeback, aren’t they? UGH. Those were popular when I was a kid.

She does look nice and she should not have any problem finding a men. I wish Demi Moore would have retained her dignity like Liberty did after getting cheated on and dumped by Ashton. What a nice ride she’s Liberty got.

  2. Deb says:

Not crazy about the jeans but love the red bag & flats. She’s totally a class act. I wish nothing but the best for her.

    • Scarlet Vixen says:

“Class Act?” Um…the woman showed up to an Oscar Party practically naked. That’s pretty much the opposite of ‘class’ in my opinion. That dress was beyond gross.

I had those exact jeans, btw. In 1988. I was 9. They looked great with my neon pink & green high-top LA Gears. 🙂

      • Chicagogurl17 says:

Same age. My LA Gears were those horrible gold metallic ones and I went everywhere in my white denim guess jean jacket and ankle zipper jeans.

      • zeldafitzgerald says:

same. i was 16 and they were skin tight – i had to pull the zip up with a coat hanger. luckily i was about liberty’s size back then

      • TrustMeOnThis says:

Stop it, you guys. I got MARRIED in 1988! (I was only 21… but, still!)

I was not, however, wearing acid-washed jeans. Or LA Gears. I was an arty girl.

      • LAK says:

my favourite niece is currently prancing around in my LA Gear high tops.

I barely wore them when i had them in the 80s, so they were practically new when i gifted them to her.

ps:- my parents’ attic is full of clothing i refuse to throw/give away so it is a treasure for all the young ones since it’s come back into fashion.

  3. marie says:

no, what? I hate those jeans, they are simply awful. next you’ll tell me they’re bringing back L.A. Gear

  4. Jules says:

Yawn……….spare me. I am sure some woman hiding in a woman’s shelter feels your pain. Get over yourself.

    • Hubbahun says:

+1 You do get the impression that she is LOVING the attention and that the end of her marriage is merely collatoral damage. She’s as much a famewhore as her husband or KStew (whose behaviour I’m not condoning by the way). It’s a cliche but it IS the kids I feel for 🙁 “Hey Mom, remember when you got your hooters out on Oscar night??”

    • Chickie Baby says:

Oh, sure we do! We know what it’s been like—it’s been all over the press for months! I doubt much of the public really cares. There are far greater tragedies in the world than “what she’s been through.”

Miss Liberty, get over your self-absorbtion, pull up your boot straps, and move on. The best thing you can do is put it behind you and work on your career, and making sure your name is associated with impressive things—not the embarrassment your ex-hubby dragged you into.

    • shewolf says:

      My firsts thoughts exactly.

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

      Ha ha…so true.

  5. Cecada says:

Kind of find her annoying now not sure why

    • Anonny says:

Because she’s milking this for all it’s worth, when the classy response is no response at all.

I’ll give her a pass on this one because her comments were overheard (vs. made to the media), but she’s very close to draining the well of public empathy.

      • pastyousayyouneverknew says:

I hate the way Hollywood makes things that are everyday occurrences for everyday people a massive deal, I’m finding it really hard to believe that she is milking this for all it’s worth. Not saying she’s the first person to use her personal life to advance her fame but I had more respect for her until recently.

      • NOWHEARTHIS says:

People like you scare the sh!t out of me. The erasure of the line between fantasy and reality seems to be complete in your world. How do you know that: “…..her comments were overheard…”
Thisis hollywoodlifeDOTCOM that brought you this story. Do you really seriously believe that HW “overhears” anything from any celeb?

  6. Harpreet says:

Can anyone ID that gorgeous red bag??

  7. bea says:

I think you summed up her situation nicely, but I still think that Oscar party dress was wrong. Had an air of desperation and gawd was it ugly.

  8. MonicaQ says:

“Tennyson” is still a boss name. Then again, probably because I had to memorize “Charge of the Light Brigade” in MCJROTC class.

I can only imagine that fight behind closed doors: “How can you do this?” “It was one time, I’m sorry!” “What about all the other times?!” and on and on.

Still on #TeamDoYou. Hell, I probably would’ve crawled in a hole and never came out until I had to take my kids to school or something if I was her.

  9. lem says:

she really bugs me. I don’t like KStew at all and I think what she did with Rupert was really gross, but this woman has destroyed any real sympathy I had for her. Between her oscar dress and her halloween costume, I feel like she’s loving all of the attention. I wish she’d dress appropriately and get the therapy she needs to work through this without showing her T&A all over LA.

  10. lucy2 says:

It must suck to go through that, sure, and for the most part she has been pretty reserved about blasting him. But the dress was super tacky and inappropriate.

  11. Mayday says:

I can’t stand when wealthy people wear ripped clothes.

There are people around the world who have no choice but to wear ripped clothes and would GLADLY take something not tattered, I don’t care how “fashionable” it is.

  12. Zorbitor says:

Infidelity in Hollywood???? I am shocked!! Shocked I tell you 😱

  13. TheOriginalKitten says:

I guess I’m alone in liking the jeans. Ugh. I feel ashamed but I got a bit excited seeing torn jeans popping up all over the stores. My mom would scream at me if she knew this (“why would anyone PAY for destroyed pants?!?!”).

Yeah I know she’s had her missteps with some overly-sexed ensembles but overall I just really love this woman’s style. She does a good job at (generally) dressing age appropriate but still looking edgy. I’m 34 and have a tendency to dress way too young so I’m always struggling to find that perfect balance of *not-matronly* but *not-teeny bopper*.

    • marie says:

I can get behind the ripped/torn jeans, I still happen to have some of those (so comfortable) but I always hated the dang zipper ankles.

      • Another Ann says:

Ditto. Ankle zippers just never looked good on anyone. I do remember the days of artfully cutting, tearing and fraying my own jeans though. Ah, memories.

    • LahdidahBaby says:

I SO agree with you, OrigKitty, in several ways: I love ankle zip jeans again–faded ones, at that (torn, not so much). In general I love Liberty’s style, too. So what if she’s acting out a bit, showing the world she’s still got it after they all saw the paps’ pics of her husband going down on a sulky young actress in a car? She’s got a beautiful body, she’s looking for male attention to soothe her public humiliation and (no doubt) her heartache at being cheated on and losing her marriage and her family life as she knew it! So why not dress to get attention? Why should anyone moralize about her style? Why not save that kind of judgment for Rupert?

  15. Cordelia says:

i want those glasses, is all.

  16. Annie says:

I know that people probably don’t think she’s been a class act because of the way she’s been dressing and how she attends all those same parties Rob and Kristen do (which I do find crazy), but at least she hasn’t sold her story to a tabloid or a tv show or gotten a book deal, and trust me, she’s had her offers, obviously. Imagine if she did. Kristen and her crazy fans should thank their lucky stars because Liberty knows everything and she could ruin Kristen completely by telling everything she knows. That they did have sex multiple times, that it wasn’t a ~momentary indiscretion, that it lasted months, possibly starting on set, that she heard rumors, and tons of nasty little details like their texts, e-mails, etc. Kristen should be really grateful right now. Any other scorned woman would’ve buried her on her own sht by now. Telling people what she really is like: going to you home and playing with your kids while making the moves on your husband and being super nice to you. And let’s be real: Robert doesn’t know the whole story. I wish he saw how Liberty filing for divorce means something, but Rob strikes me as the kind of guy who hates confrontations and just lets the peopld he loves get away with things. If he read the whole truth he would finally end it, angry that she’s been lying to him.

So yeah, the kstans should leave Liberty alone. Don’t provoke her. A book deal and it’s OVER for Kristen. Look at LeAnn Rimes. She went from an American Sweetheart to a very hated woman.

    • Michele says:

“That they did have sex multiple times, that it wasn’t a ~momentary indiscretion, that it lasted months, possibly starting on set, that she heard rumors, and tons of nasty little details like their texts, e-mails, etc.”

I had no idea you & Liberty were such tight besties, Annie! Surely you must be if you know such intimate details about the scandal! I hope Liberty doesn’t mind you divulging them on the internet of all places!

      • Annie says:

Well Michele, to you Kristen has only had sex with Robert in all of her life, and it’s magical and pure like that BD2 sex scene. In your Lalaland women leave their husbands just for some heavy petting.

Over here in the real world, we all know what happened.

      • Michele says:

“Over here in the real world, we all know what happened.”

Sorry, but nobody knows what really happened other than the people directly involved.

And nobody knows how strong or fragile the Sanders marriage was before the scandal. We also don’t know if this wasn’t the first and only time Sanders stepped outside his marriage. There are no answers to these questions…only speculations made by outsiders.

It’s been over 7 months now. There’s been no new details released. It’s quite obvious the people directly involved don’t want to discuss it anymore. Hell, Liberty has a new boyfriend already and her modeling career is seeing a boost. Good for her!

      • LAK says:

Michele: Annie is an RPatt fan with an overactive imagination as you can see with the fanfiction. Best not to engage.

      • Mi says:

And who are you,LAK?Everybodys here have their opinion,my opinion is that they had sex, because middle aged men love to have sexual affairs with twenty something women, because they know that they wives will forgive them easily(mostly wives do this, unfortunately)but not in this case.If someone thinks that affair + publicly humiliation of wife is not enough reason for divorce, for me this someone is delusional.

    • megsie says:

Michele, we all engage in a bit of supposition here, and often enough present it as fact. For instance, exactly how do you know “Liberty has a new boyfriend already”? You don’t. Your post is no less fanfiction than Annie’s is.

      • Michele says:

It’s been mentioned in the press by various outlets that she’s seeing record producer Jimmy Iovine now. They were recently seen leaving a hotel together in New York during Fashion Week.

Good for her that she found someone new! Jimmy Iovine is very respected in the music industry. He still looks good for his age, too. They make a very attractive couple.

      • megsie says:

Tabloids have reported that unnamed sources claim blah blah. You have no evidence. Pics of Jimmy and Liberty leaving a hotel prove they’re dating? Jimmy has a home in NYC. If he wanted private intimate time with Liberty would they not have met up there? Perhaps he picked her up at the hotel? Do you even know if the hotel they were photograped outside of is the same hotel Liberty stayed at? No. Perhaps they met at the hotel for lunch. Point is, you don’t know. You’re making assumptions. Which is fine, but then you must allow others to do the same. Comparing the many pics of Rupert and Kristen embracing and kissing to the one pic of Jimmy and Liberty walking together, I’d say Annie’s fanfic is considerably less fictious than yours.

      • Michele says:

megsie, why does it bother you so much that it is being reported by many outlets that she is seeing Iovine? It’s probably in very early stages, but I think it’s great she has found someone as cool as him. Don’t you think she deserves some happiness in her life now? She’s not dwelling on the past, but rather living very much in the now! That’s a very healthy outlook to have and as a woman who has felt similar pain in my past, I’m happy for her.

      • megsie says:

I think you’ve misunderstood. You called out Annie for making assumptions about Rupert and Kristen’s relationship and declaring them factual. You were right to do so. Annie may BELIEVE Rupert and Kristen had a long term sexual affair, but she has no proof. Likewise, YOU have no proof Liberty and Jimmy are dating. You may believe so, but you have no more proof to back up your guess than Annie does. In fact, you have less.

  17. aud says:

I’m glad she was out and about on oscar weekend. limits how much schmoozing rupert and kristen could do

no kstew at the vanity fair party hahaha

  18. Izzy says:

And I suppose if she stayed home in the wake of the scandal and didn’t show her face in public, Liberty Ross would now be getting trashed for “milking the sympathy card.”

This woman cannot win. Literally. She’s lost her marriage, her family is now broken, she’s been publicly humiliated… and now she’s being slutshamed for her ATTIRE. GMAFB.

  19. bluhare says:

I almost didn’t click on this because the photo looked like Kim Kardashian.

Shut up, Liberty. This has done wonders for your career and you’ve milked it for all it’s worth. Yeah, I feel for her, being cheated on so publicly, but don’t whine about it when you’ve so obviously gone on to make lemonade out of the lemons.

    • megsie says:

I wouldn’t be so quick to assume an increased public profile is fair payment for the personal pain she’s been through, the particulars of which the public will never know. Is that a deal you’d be happy to make?

    • Mi says:

”Shut up Liberty”?Did she tell to the press something about this scandal?

  20. Gwennie says:

These comments are certainly all over the map–some from very, very immature and cynical people, some from people with a grasp of what disappointments “real life” can bring. From someone with a good marriage (with the usual strains) who was suddenly blindsided with a one time “indiscretion” from a husband who professed to adore me, I can attest to the heartache that Liberty is going through. These things often start with a creative effort of some kind, like a movie,or in my case, a community theater project. The participants are dealing with an imaginary, unrealistic story and they begin to get a “crush” or infatuation which fades quickly after the production is over–but often, as in this case, leads to an “indiscretion.” My husband was able to regain my trust after a five year separation, but I didn’t have pictures that showed him draped all over the younger woman to deal with! You simply have no heart, or compassion if you blame this woman! As for her outfits, and this “famewhore” crap, look at all the modeling, charity and celebrity events in Britain, (As well as in L.A.) all the way back to the late 1990’s and you will see that Liberty Ross has been invited, photographed and often featured. Not many models have their wedding featured in Vogue! Not many have graced the cover of Vogue in several countries, Elle, etc. She has always been a little “edgy” in her dress. This woman was courted by Rupert Sanders since she was 18 years old. She has devoted her life outside of her modeling career to him. He has been her only love, and she scaled back her career to advance his! She is from a very stable family and it must have been heart wrenching for her to decide to divorce! You critics better pray you don’t have to live thru what she did–or maybe you should.

    • guest 5600 says:

Gwennie if you’re not Liberty Ross then you’re way too invested in her and her family’s life and know way too much about her.Seriously ,that is creepy that you know what she was doing when she was 18.Now if you ARE Liberty Ross, which is possible because I know some C list celebrities love to read about themselves, then I want you to know that most people took your side after the scandal and still hate Kristen Stewart’s guts. But if you want approval then you can’t go out in see through dresses like an idiot on a reality show.I don’t care who cheated on her,That dress was KimK and Paris Hilton in 2000 trashy.Girl if you want women to keep supporting you you gotta get a stylist and somebody to dress you.She has been a hot mess and you can’t blame K Stew for that.

  21. Shiba says:

She has the most amazing figure. What an immature jackass her husband is, trading in the stunning mother of his children (and half his money) for a nymphet – as if K-Stew is going to stay with him! And if she does, she’s a bigger boob than I have EVER suspected…

  22. Ginger says:

I think she’s flaunting her figure to piss off her ex and if so, good for her! Yes, those kind of jeans were popular when I was in high school. I pretty much stick to the rule that if I’m old enough to have worn the trend the first time around then I am too old to wear it the second time around. But that’s just me.

  23. isjeh says:

liberty like us is human who share her feelings to her friends..she doesn’t capitalize on the scandal and instead handled it gracefully, doesn’t call media to be interviewed or sold her story…for haters, accept it or not, liberty is strong and very classy.
