Johnny Knoxville was married?

Johnny Knoxville and his wife, Melanie, have separated after nearly 12 years of marriage. They have a daughter, Madison, 10. Johnny Knoxville was married? Am I the only one who thought this clown was single? Who would put up with that guy for so long?

Knoxville’s not going the regular separation route. This fall he moved with his girlfriend, a former waitress, two doors down from his wife and daughter. It looks like his estranged wife will put up with quite a lot:

Johnny, 35, and his new girlfriend, a former waitress at NYC’s Mercer Hotel, have moved just a couple of doors away from his estranged wife, Melanie Cates, and their 10-year-old daughter, Madison! “They’ve been living together since the fall and are staying near his wife’s home,” an insider reveals. “They’re really in love.”

In December, 2005, when the Dukes of Hazzard movie had been out to critical acclaim for several months and Knoxville’s affair with Jessica Simpson was old news, he told Parade Magazine “The secret of staying married 10 years to the same woman is Melanie. She’s just a good girl.”

When that interview was conducted, Knoxville lived in Hollywood. He’s probably still there and that’s where he lives a couple houses down from his ex. I was picturing them as a big happy faimily in a NY City apartment building, where they wouldn’t even have to go outside to visit one another and could just walk down the hall.
