This is just an FYI – Sofia Vergara is blonde now! Sofia tweeted the above photo yesterday to show off her new shade. I think this is probably closer to her natural hair color. Sofia has said in several interviews that she dyed her hair brown when she came to Hollywood because no one believed that a Latina would naturally have blonde hair. It’s not the Hollywood stereotype! So she dyed her hair darker, although there are several early-modeling shots of Sofia where you can see her natural dirty-blonde hair.
So, considering it’s close to her natural color… I like it. I’m glad she didn’t go platinum-blonde, she went for more of a caramel-honey blonde, and the shade suits her skin and eyes. I’m assuming she’s done filming Modern Family for the season because I think this might be too big of a change for the Gloria character, right?
Incidentally, we got a funny/gross tip yesterday from someone who had some dealings with Sofia’s fiancé Nick Loeb several years ago. This tipster – who wants to remain anonymous – says that Nick “is indeed a complete d–k and tool. He is nothing but arrogant.” The tipster also claims that at the time, Nick “had a book of women he screwed and at the time it was something like 800. He did do drugs, and much more.” ALLEGEDLY!! I mean, last year there were some sordid reports of his womanizing, his affection for hookers and orgies, and his love affair with sweet lady cocaine. But Nick denied all of those reports. But did he ever get around to suing anybody? Hm. Anyway, this is the guy that Sofia is going to marry. And she’s going to have a baby with him too. Via surrogacy because she doesn’t want to mess up her body.

I was in Miami at the same time as Sophia – I didn’t know her, but used to see her around and her hair looked exactly like this then…. All of ours did since it was the height of the foil highlight, lol!

Bella – I admit I’m a sucker for foils – give me my late ’90s, multi-tonal beachy blonde hair any day. Especially since I found my first white hair a few months ago and now it’s turning over so fast – highlights keep me from having to dye it every two weeks to my natural dark brown.
A lot of people around me are doing hand applied/balayage highlights right now.

Here’ s what some don’t know; Sofia was actually born a natural blonde. She was told to dye her hair dark to look more Latin. That’s messed up right.

I’m very fair with blonde hair but because I live in Australia, I never really go in the sun so my hair is a sort of dark blonde or perhaps light mousey brown (I am assuming from looking at my regrowth) so I get foils to restore it to it’s original colour!

Come on. She was blond at 19. At 40, her hair is brown naturally. I am sure, like my sister, her hair darkened over the years.
I’ve seen a pic of her as a young girl (think this was on the Daily Beast or Gawker yesterday) and her hair was more like a mousy brown/dark, dark blond. Not “blond blond”, you know? But lighter than it is now.
As for her hair getting darker, who knows. My hair color seems to have gotten lighter as I’ve gotten older apart from the grays I’ve got now, and my hair is naturally that mousy brown shade. It’s faded somehow.
I do like this shade on her, however.
Either way, she looks gorgeous. Whoever did the highlighting did a fantastic job, it looks pretty natural and not overdone.

I just love her and I think she looks great! Love the hair on her and yes I do believe that is all her own hair. It is so refreshing to see someone who is 100% real from her hair to her toes. And she can act too!
Looks great! I always think women should go lighter as they get older, especially Latin women. Dying you hair dark as you get older looks odd my MIL and SIL do this and makes them look so hard. In the words of the great Lorelei Gilmore ” “Dark hair is like a big arrow pointing out what is wrong with your face.”
Why do you talk about Sofia’s decision to have a baby via surrogacy as a decision about keeping her figure? Realistically, she is 40, which is hitting the VERY tail end of the age spectrum for a feasible healthy pregnancy + baby.

I don’t know much about her, she’s not that popular here in Europe, but there are facts emerging from her interviews that made me wonder.
Frequent trips from Colombia to Miami as a young model, self-declared admiration for the Scarface character plus the shady boyfriend rumored to be a cokehead.
I also vaguely recall a blind item form some time ago about a successful breakthrough actress that made it in Hollywood by basically being a coke supplier.

Frequent trips to Colombia to visit their families by Colombians is not rare. Especially for those that live in Miami. It’s only 2 hours by plane and airfare is really cheap.
