Here are some photos from the Paris photocall and premiere of Iron Man 3, with only Gwyneth Paltrow and Robert Downey Jr. selling this thing at the moment. Where’s Guy Pearce? Where’s Ben Kingsley? Dunno. What I do know is that Gwyneth is giving me a headache. Goop wore this Erdem Fall 2013 look which I thought was a jumpsuit, but it’s a matching top and pants made to look like a jumpsuit. I’m sorry, but how is this look not a total failure? It’s hideous. The only good thing I can say about it is that the cut it good. Beyond that, terrible. And the center part… Goop, I can’t. As for RDJ… handsome. Funny. His association with Goop almost makes her tolerable. ALMOST.
Meanwhile, Gwyneth revealed to The Sun (how gauche!) how she met Chris Martin:
Gwyneth – who has two children with the Coldplay frontman – recalled how they were being romantically linked in 2002, before they had even met. Then Chris made a joke about it on-stage at a gig and it sent the speculation into overdrive.
Gwyneth said: “It’s funny because people had started writing that we were going out and we had never even met. And then he was in Los Angeles doing a concert and an actress that he had a crush on was supposed to come to the concert. When she didn’t show up, he was so annoyed that he said, ‘Oh, this is for my girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow.’”
“Then people were saying, ‘What’s going on?’ I was like, ‘I’ve never met this guy, I’ve no idea!’ And because of that, because people were writing about it, we ended up meeting at a concert and there you go. So, thank you!”
You know what part I get caught on? There was “an actress that he had a crush on was supposed to come to the concert” and that actress didn’t show up. WHO WAS IT?!!? Now I’m obsessed. Who did Chris Martin want to date and Gwyneth became his consolation prize? Let’s see, this would have been back in 2002, so who was big then, and who would have conceivably gone to a Coldplay concert, and who was single around that time? God, I don’t even know where to start. Drew Barrymore? Kirsten Dunst? Kate Bosworth (cough)? Nicole Kidman?! ANGELINA?!

RDJ looks amazing as always. I hate floral prints in general but I keep seeing floral-print pants in the store and I’m starting to soften my stance a bit. Those pants with a white top might not be so offensive. But yeah-this is overkill.

I would never wear a print like this, but I do like the cut of it (especially the blouse), and she’s probably one of the few who can wear this without looking completely ridiculous.

I don’t like the print, but you are right, the cut of the suit is really nice. Her shoes are really nice too (she has good shoe taste, imo). Floral pantsuits really seem to be a big trend this spring. I’ve seen some really nice ones, but I’m not sure I’m brave enough to ever wear one :D.

Okay, let me just say…I don’t hate Goop’s outfit. I’m not in love with it (I generally hate floral patterns) but I wouldn’t kill it with fire either. I’d probably wear the pants with a simple black top, assuming I could ever afford them ofc.

You might have something there. My daughter’s hair is similar to hers, in that the top layer is damaged and straight while the bottom layers are more healthy and wavy. I itch to take the flat-iron it only to make both layers match, but I restrain myself, because flat-ironing a 9 year old’s hair just feels wrong.

Bad, bad suit. Her hair looks gorgeous wavy – there’s a pic of her from around 1999 or so with Ben Affleck and her hair seemed to be in its natural state. It was beautiful.
At the very least, a side part and blowing it out to give it some volume would really help. And please, try a brow pencil. Back in the day she also filled in her brows and they brightened up her face so much. It seems like she lost her style in the last 14 years.

Why would a woman who can afford to wear anything (just ask her) or has the figure to wear anything (just ask her that too) would choose to wear this? OK, clearly nobody will read this at this very late date…but I LOVE this Erdem suit!! Clearly I’m the lone ranger here, awfully sorry. It takes a certain figure type (like GOOP’s) and the sense to wear plain pumps and spare makeup with something that visually grabbing. She has or has done everything required to make this look work.
Again, sorry, but I could totally ROCK that look with minimal makeup and accessories. Hate away, if anyone actually reads this, I’ve completely brought this on myself.
