Selena Gomez wasn’t her usual fresh-faced self on the red carpet of the MTV Movie Awards. Her dress was Julian McDonald with lots of gold embellishments and drippy fringe, and even if it was a little bit shapeless for a party frock, Selena pulled that part of her ensemble off in style. Her shoes were very blah though, and she should have gone with black strappy sandals instead of nude, peep-toed pumps.
I think this dress was tied into Selena’s look for the night since she later performed a barefoot, Arabian-Nights inspired rendition of her new single, “Come and Get It,” which was meant as a tribute to Britney Spears’ “Slave 4 U.”
Overall, Selena doesn’t look thrilled to be at this event, but that could be because her hair is tied back so severely, and her makeup is very cat-like, which contributes to the stiff effect. Selena doesn’t look bad in this dress at all, but it’s just not a very fun look for her like we’re accustomed to seeing.
JWowww looks like she’s trying out for the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” show. She brought grumpy Roger along too, and I have to wonder what he thinks of his fiancée’s increasingly immobile face. This gown is way too much for an MTV event, but I barely even noticed it because of J-Woww’s frozen lips and cheeks. She can barely even crack a smile with all of those fillers.
Snooki and her outrageous veneers were present and accounted for as well. This dress highlights Snickers’ new slimline figure and is much better than the usual leopard-print or hot pink fabrics that she chooses for her everyday attire. Dresswise and shoewise, this is a classy look for Snooki. It’s too bad she had to ruin it with all that massive hair and, yeah, the teeth.
Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola showed up with Ronnie Ortiz-Magro in tow. This dress is seriously underwhelming and looks like something Sammi would have worn to go clubbing at Karma in Seaside, NJ. She was truly the prettiest girl on the “Jersey Shore” program, but here everything is very lifeless. Even her hair manages to be boring. Poor Sammi and Ronnie — everyone’s forgotten about them already.

I have no love for Selena Gomez (probably because I’m waaaay too old for her demographic), but I feel lumping her in a post with the Jersey Shore cast is just wrong.

I have never seen one episode of Jersey Shore, but you know why I like JWowww? She is SUCH a Tom Hardy fangirl! So she can’t be all bad right?
I guess Hardy is a bit of a juicehead/gorilla on the outside but he’s so much more on the inside.

Those veneers gives new meaning to the expression “Horse teeth”. My goodness, they are huge, she really should file those suckers down.
Selena looks great from the neck down, but her hair completely ruins it. The braid shape is weird, her crown is over-raised and the sides are too tight. Sigh. It’s a terrible style.
But I disagree with you Bedhead about the nude heels. Black would have ruined the look. The nude is perfect, they give her legs amazing length.
And I loath the messy fish tail braid look. Why is that even a thing??
Snooki and J wow look horrible! Their pictures completely threw me off. Money has not helped them at all. I like Selena’s dress but I agree the heels should have been different.
Snooki looks one of those little dolls I had growing up that were tiny and had hair down to their calves. Not the look.
Snooki’s lack of a jaw cannot handle such huge veneers, 3 tons of hair extension, and all those fake eyelashes.

I wish I would never have seen Selena Gomez “perform” live. Why do all these Disney stars insist in being thriple threats? She’s a decent actress. Leave the singing to someone else.
She’s awful live! Her music is great but the girl cannot sing and she is/was a TERRIBLE dancer. She can dance better now, but go watch a performance of her im a slave for u britney cover and all u can do is cringe. I don’t think she’s a great actress or even decent, but worse actresses have done more and have successful careers so it’s not a big deal. She should hunker down and focus on studying acting. She’s more concerned with making money, buying crap, and having people thinks she’s hot. She’s as much a vapid famewhore as these jersey shore people.

She looked cute and everything, but Selena’s performance and her comments about it are downright offensive. I thought she was better than this.
My 9 yr old loves her so much, but luckily doesn’t follow her outside of wizard repeats…keep hoping for her to move on, though all the disney ‘starlets’ seem to head in the same direction sooner or later.
I’m surprised there was no mention of how offensive Selena Gomez’s performance was. The addition of the Hindi music wasn’t in and of itself bad, but the performance was essentially ‘dressing up as a generic Brown/Indian-ish stereotype’ which, while it may seem innocent and probably had benign intentions, has a long history of racism behind it and often flattens a rich multitude of cultures into a rather offensive mess. (Also, the heavy past of sexualising and exotification of Brown skinned women – note the ‘sexy harem girl’ theme going through here – can’t be ignored.)
