What is the consensus on Katy Perry? Would she ever, say, blatantly hit on a married man, a man she knew to be married? I kind of doubt it. But this may be a special occasion. According to Star Mag (eh), Orlando Bloom was flying solo at an event in Santa Monica recently, and Katy Perry was flirting up a storm. She might have even thought she had a chance! Hilariously, January Jones was also at the same party and she too had Orly in her sights. And whatever January wants, January gets. Which is fine because January usually has pretty low standards. I mean, it’s not like she’s aiming for George Clooney (although I would love to see that). Anyway, here’s what went down:
Katy Perry and January Jones didn’t let Orlando Bloom’s wedding ring stop them from some serious flirting at April 10’s Coach Evening of Coacktails in Santa Monica, which Orlando attended without wife Miranda Kerr.
“Orlando was sitting with three businesspeople, but that didn’t matter to January,” recalls the witness. “She went straight for him and interrupted his conversation.”
But an uninterested Orlando made it clear he didn’t want to chat with January, and she quickly scuttled away to down a few more Heinekens. Katy didn’t fare much better.
“She was completely starstruck and got supergiggly when he asked for a picture of her – she thought he was digging her… but the pic was actually for a female friend! Katy was annoyed but agreed to the picture and then attempted to flirt after that, but he blew her off and continued his business chat. It’s clear he’s a happily married man.”

Well… maybe Orlanda thinks he’s a happily married man. Whether or not his marriage is really in good shape… that remains to be seen. I’m not going to build a conspiracy out of the fact that Orlando went solo to an event – married people do that all the time. I will build a conspiracy out of the idea that Miranda Kerr pissed off the wrong people, perhaps by banging the wrong married dude, and that her career is suffering because of it, and when her career suffers, she looks for a way to upgrade. And maybe Orlando isn’t doing much for her career right now? Which has nothing to do with how Orlando reacted to Katy Perry and January Jones. If I saw January’s stone-cold vanilla bitch-face coming towards me, I would turn away too.

Awww, you guys! I love him, too! I’m massively attracted to him. He’s not a pretty boy, by any stretch, but he’s no unattractive, imho. I’m attracted to people more because of their intellect and brilliance rather than looks. No offense to whoever wrote this, but I’m not sure why George Clooney is considered such a “prize” that someone like January Jones wouldn’t have a chance with him. :p And furthermore, what’s wrong with January Jones? She has a reputation, sure, but she’s eons more talented and seems far more shrewd than the bimbos that Clooney usually goes for. I don’t get it…
Well, if this is true, I give him credit for shutting them both down. I’d like to think Orlando is a bit smarter for not publicly going down that path. I don’t know how solid his marriage is since there have been rumors that both he and Miranda have cheated in past.
Yeah why do I feel like this is just pro Bloom, happy marriage PR? Well, this story is kind of ridiculous for one thing. The “first” infidelity rumors about Kerr came out last summer and flew under the radar. It was rumored that she was on vacation w/ a mystery man and not even w/ Bloom and Flynn in South Africa. All that was b/f she was, according to multiple eyewitnesses, flirting up a storm and sitting on Leo DiCaprio’s lap at one of the half dozen events she attended w/ him present. BUT, after Leo-Bieber-Gate, in a very timely manner, rumors came out about Bloom cheating on Kerr too. Bloom btw has said in the past that cheating is not a deal-breaker. Hell, Miranda was w/ a longtime boyfriend, who she called the love of her life, meanwhile according to the cute story Kerr obliviously loves to tell, Bloom was desperately trying to get her number and she gave in (and she called that boyfriend the love of her life MONTHS after she and Bloom were first spotted together). This whole story just reeks of “see Orlando had that most hated, well-known and unrepentant-home wrecker January Jones AND Katy Perry coming after him. But he’s a saint…and his marriage is ok”. I mean really, Katy Perry behaved like that? All any it would mean, if a shred of it is true, is that Bloom isn’t dumb enough to openly show interest at a huge charity event w/ cameras around.
Or it could be that they were just photographed together at a party and the tabloid media is off to the races
@Lia- They could’ve come up with a better story then. Instead the emphasis is on how Jones seemed desperate to approach him and how supergiggly and starstruck Katy Perry was (come on), but they conclude that it’s proof he’s happily married. It feels planted and paid for. The whole non-story has an angle. The whole point is the angle and it’s REALLY in his favor. It just reads like Bloom is super-desirable but he’s a good guy who’d never cheat, he’s oh so happy w/ Miranda (and it’s not like she’s been getting bad press lately or their marriage has been speculated about for months).
Ugh, I get very defensive when it comes to Orly. He was my first grown-up celeb crush. I hated it when he was with Bosworth and loved him with Miranda from the very first rumor – they are lovely enough separately and Tres Adorbs together. I think they make the cutest little family, especially with Flynn, and recent rumors of trouble in paradise have been really bugging me.
Perry and Jones both spell trouble with the trail of men they leave behind. NO no no no no. Stay away.

I’ve always gotten the sense that Orlando really adores Miranda. But regardless of what is going on in their marriage, it’s always a good idea to stay far away from January Jones.

And you know that because? Bloom had the perfect opportunity to get out of his marriage when the rumours were flying about MK cheating on him left, right and center. it is so endearing to see him walking with his wife with his fist in her back at Christmas, not being seen together and for his manager to mouth to them to hold hands at the Oscars. She is all about herself and her diva/demanding ways caught up with her. As for Bloom, he is smart enough not to be caught publicly flirting and if he has someone one the side, good on him. this marriage, if there really is one, will not survive and the one person to suffer will be Flynn.
Oh my gosh – a minnow in the shark tank – poor Orlando is right. This scenario reminds me of that scene in Almost Famous when Anna Panquin and the other characters get bored and Panquin says “let’s go f*ck the virgin.”
There is another story from years ago of Orlando – at his height of popularity – turning down some beautiful model that approached him to go to a party. He was with Kate Bosworth and he supposedly told the model “the girlfriend wouldn’t like that much.” I always thought that was cool.
OH COME ON, I do not need my lady hard-on for Orly to come back. It took me years to move on (sort of. onto Thor)! He is just too freakin lovely.

I just hit google to see his age and some old pictures… and, there they were, all the shots of that gorgeous young thing that instantly made me hot and bothered. IMO I think the problem is his hair. He’s got an awesome hair line and always looked great when his hair was long, a little messy and off his face. Now it’s short and bang-sy. Ugh… aren’t there enough boring white men with unmemorable hair populating the earth??
