Unfortunately, a woman’s fertility declines dramatically after the age of 35. That’s a fact. It’s not to say a woman can’t have a baby naturally at 40 or even 46 (my best friend’s mom was that age), or that a woman can’t have fertility problems at 20, but the egg quality degrades with age. I have no idea where anyone heard a woman is more likely to have twins in her 30′s. It simply isn’t statistically true (though it can certainly happen to individuals). I say all this as someone who has been through many arduous cycles of IVF (and was finally blessed with a beautiful daughter). I think stars are reluctant to admit that they did receive this help, just as they often deny plastic surgery, Botox, etc. This would put them in the class of aging, imperfect humans, like the rest of us. I don’t know what this couple’s situation is, but there are a lot of Hollywood women over the age of 35 having twins. I’d bet that most, if not all, got help.

Tia- I had twins naturally at 41. No drugs or IVF, as did one of my cousins and a college rommate (one was 37 the other 42). Womens bodies work harder at that age and produce more eggs on a monthly cycle. So don’t assume.

She said they didn’t use In Vitro or Clomid. She didn’t say anything about using IUI, Follistism, Pregnyll, Ovidrell, Letrozole…Should I keep going? There are many ways in modern medicine to end up with multiples.

Uhhh, Tia, chances of having twins actually goes up dramatically in a woman’s thirties. I personally know 3 women in their mid-thirties who have had twins in the past few years. Do your research before you consign 36 year old women to the reproductive dust-bin…..oh, and congratulations to the happy couple and God bless.
