I was pleasantly surprised by the reaction to my admission yesterday that I don’t always find Chris Pine repellent. Shock! I actually think Chris looks really sexy and quite dashing with this beard, and he’s aging really well. He doesn’t seem so much like a Hollywood pretty boy trying to be a big boy. He seems more confident and comfortable these days. Let’s see, how old is he? He’s 32. That’s a good age for most actors. And Chris will probably continue to stay on this level too – not quite A-list, but he’s about where Ryan Reynolds is. No better, no worse. Except Pine heads up a profitable franchise (Star Trek) and Ryan does not (haha on The Green Lantern).
Anyway, these are new photos of the Star Trek Into Darkness premiere in Berlin last night. This is yet another tentpole franchise film which is being sold and promoted first in Europe and Asia rather than America. Is that how it’s going to be from now on? I hate that the American media doesn’t get first dibs on the promotional tours these days. As for these photos, Chris continues to look really good, right? Damn. I’m turning into a Pine fan-girl. What is happening?!
Did you happen to see the latest clip from Star Trek Into Darkness? It’s all Benedict Cumberbatch and Chris Pine. Cumby is the terrorist, Chris is the “good guy” Captain Kirk. Chris doesn’t get me hot in this clip… but neither does Cumby. So it’s a wash right now!
I’m also including pics of Zachary Quinto (because I know many of you crush on him, but I’m not really into it), Simon Pegg (who lost some sexy with that suit), Zoe Saldana (in Balmain ‘gina curtains) and Alice Eve (in a cheap-looking Emilio Pucci).
PS… I didn’t choose photos of Chris Pine squinting on purpose to illustrate some kind of point. He was just squinting IN EVERY PHOTO. I’m over it already!! LOL.

If Jack Ryan is a hit (probably will be) he will move up the list even more. Good because he’s waaaaaay more appealing to me than Reynolds and many others for me at this point.

I’m actually starting to lose my biscuit tingles for this movie. And, blasphemous as this may be to CB land, I’m not sure Cumby is going to be that good in it. In all the clips, he comes across as a little bland and generic. His strength, as an actor, lies in his quirky energy, and that seems really repressed here, and not in a good way.
Eta: I also hope there’s more to the movie than blowing stuff up and tense conversations in the glass dungeon.
I wouldn’t worry. Aside from the standard anonymous Internet whining the actual overseas reviews are running very positive. Lots of fun, very emotional, etc. I just want to see it now dammit!!!
(Weird aside but while Iron Man 3 is getting very strong reviews, if you read the Internet chatter only you might think it was the worst thing in human history! Why is everyone in such a bad mood?)

I hope Iron Man 3 is good. I like all involved. I couldn’t even finish the second one. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I’m suffering a little RDJ fatigue. I’m ready for him to switch gears and keep it interesting.

No @T.Fanty I haven’t seen it yet…although I do have a lucky SOB German friend who has and she adored it (Surprisingly funny but she also cried at least once, was one thing she said. So that’s a good sign)I meant the few overseas bloggers and magazines who have reviewed have been majority very positive.
I guess my point was a lot of people online seem to be commenting on this and Iron Man 3 (among others) without having seen them yet. It’s annoying.
I’ve loved Chris Pine since “Bottleshock”, a cool little movie about California wines winning over French wines back in the 1970s. It’s a fun movie and he was really good in it. And like wine, Chris Pine is improving with age. Yummy.

@Fanty – I am still hoping that Cumby’s villain will be more in the Loki schoolhouse (= total awesomeness and screen domination). But at least there will still be THE VOICE.
Anna – that’s my concern. But, it’s also apples and oranges. Loki worked because Whedon never lost his sense of humor and the project thrived on that. Abrams isn’t a funny guy, which is fine for an action movie, but from a Cumberbitch perspective, a bit of a shame.
well, I have no interest in Star Trek aside from Cumby – I didnt enjoy the last one at all (and it was in the pre-Hemsworthian era, so even Daddy Kirk was lost on me), and I only started caring about this one after Cumby joined in. So…here’s to hoping, still…(and only if I find a theater in Moscow that plays it in Eng)

I will concede that the skirt it interesting (and a beautiful color) but the top makes her look an usher at a drag queen movie house, in my opinion. They are too bold together and cancel each other out. Plus, she does not look confident in it, she looks unsure and if you wear something like that, you have to own it.
I think CHarms response to the pap problem is his Instagram account. Plus, I am hoping for an Eyre sighting more than a pap sighting.
He doesn’t have an instagram account, someone proved it to be fake. I think? Who can tell these days unless the celeb confirms it themselves.

I so want you to be right but there are WAY too many old family photos/private photos. The only way _I_ could have the same IG account is if someone broke into my house and stole the archives…so I dunno. I want to believe it’s fake but the proof is in the very close-up photo of ‘Princess India’ on the beach.
Interesting – I will await what you sleuths find out. There is a lot to what Anna says, though – there are a great deal of family photos that I can’t imagine could have come from anyone else.
See, I don’t care if the object of my affections whores himself to the paparazzi or some social media account only because I love to look at pictures of people I find hot. Even shots with Remora are shots of CHarms so yay for me (and she really is pretty, if not conventionally so) I suppose if Mr. Rochester went back to the b!tch in the attic and I was looking to fill his seat at dinner, i would care more about these guys hustling their wares, but as it is, I just love to see their wares. I really am that shallow.
The only thing that cocks my brow is CHarms has been so vocal about not wanting to be on social media and why – so why did he start an Instagram account? Hypocrisy makes my biscuit go dormant more than fame-whoring.
