what made me angry about that is that I live in the Appalachian mountains and there is a lot of poverty in this area. School lunch is sometimes the only complete meal some of these kids will get in the day. And yes, a lot of them hunt for their food. We get the first week of hunting season off because so many kids skip school anyway. It isn’t for bloody sport; it’s for survival. Not to mention the deer population is killing both itself and other populations off by consuming any green tissue it can find. Like it or not we’re part of the ecological cycle too.

I thought that was the name of one of her brothers? The baby one? Interesting names in that family. Though I do think Bristol is a pretty name but I guess I’m slanted towards any name that starts with a “bri”.

Also, I don’t think PETA’s move was particularly malicious. Sending someone a baby shirt and a bib then issuing a press release that they sent it is kind of slimy (mostly because of the press release part) but it’s not like anyone is really expecting Palin & Co to pick up the vegan torch, what with that whole ‘hunting from helicopters’ thing. I thought the article was about PETA dumping paint or something on their fur-lined parkas or that creepy bear rug in Governess’ Palin’s office.

I know a lot of you are vegetarian, but for those that choose to eat meat…but like to diss on hunters and hunting…you should really stop doing that.

MOST hunters, and by most, I mean a vast majority, hunt for food. They kill their prey cleanly and humanely. They use every single last BIT of the meat from the animal when they have it butchered.

The lives of the animals they hunt are led in the wild. The animals they hunt are free and living as nature intended until the moment they are shot.

That is NOT the life the cows, pigs, and chickens that provide non-hunters with their meat get to live.

The next time you use store-bought animal flesh of any species to cook with in your home…remember that (unless you buy NOTHING but carefully-chosen products from select and specific organic family farming coops that use humane farming practices) you are participating in institutionalized animal torture and perpetuating a cycle of revolting cruelty and misery to animals that makes you MUCH more guilty of animal rights violations than any hunter in this nation. Add to that the environmental atrocities and disaster that are spread by industrial meat farming in this country, and we should all collectively hang our heads in shame as a nation.

Read. Know what you’re eating. And keep your judgments to yourself unless you know what you’re talking about.

Watching Bambi does not impart a knowledge of what hunting is.

PETA is a bunch of idiots that run around with adolescent rages and passions. They damage animal rights every single day with their thoughtless and ignorant, bellicose activities.

Their antics are a primary reason that people roll their eyes when educated and effective animal activists try to educate the public.
