CB and I couldn’t stop laughing about this In Touch Weekly cover yesterday. It might be In Touch’s greatest cover ever, although I think the bold, all-caps headline would be even more amazing if it read “BITCH, HE GAY”. For the record, I’ve never been on the conspiracy train for Kanye’s alleged homosexuality. I think Kanye is mostly heterosexual, and it even pisses me off a little that a brother can’t be into fashion, jewelry and fur without a bunch of haters thinking he’s gay. But the “Kanye Is Gay” rumors are definitely out there, and if you believe them, God bless. You should enjoy this story, which includes these little nuggets of HE GAY:
*Kanye is sort of/kind of shacking up with Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci, according to In Touch. That’s what “online commenters” are claiming and In Touch is just repeating it!
*The “online commenters” (probably you bitches) speculated that Kanye is “in a romantic relationship with the man who designed her controversial Met Gala dress, Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci.” So Kim promptly “freaked out”.
*Kanye actually lives “down the street” from Riccardo in Paris, but Riccardo and Kanye “spend countless hours” together in Kanye’s Paris apartment.
*An insider claims: “Kanye is obsessed with Riccardo. They have a very deep bond.”
*Riccardo, like any true drama queen, designed a hideous dress for Kim because he wanted to make her look bad on purpose. Because he “resents her and really did want to make her look hideous.”
*Kanye doesn’t want to spend any time with Kim because he’s kind of in love with Riccardo and Kanye would prefer to spend all of his time with Riccardo.
*A friend claims: “If it turns out Kanye is involved with Riccardo, Kim will be utterly embarrassed — more so than she’s ever been in her life.” O RLY?
*Riccardo “recently purchased an apartment less than half a mile from Kanye’s in NYC’s Soho neighborhood.” Side-eye on that one.

First of all, go back and read what Riccardo said about Kim post-Met Gala – he loves her. He adores her. He was really proud of the dress he created for her and he refers to Kim as “the future wife of a really good friend of mine.” He seems like a really sweet guy. I’m not saying that Riccardo and Kanye are or are not hitting it, I’m just saying that I don’t buy that Riccardo had a moment of stone-cold bitchery and made Kim look like a couch just because he resents her.
Anyway, I’m actually interested in seeing if Kanye sues In Touch over this cover and cover story. Has Kanye ever sued anybody? Usually he just takes bad press in sullen silence. Maybe not this time!

I tend to analyze body language of most people I come across. It’s amazing what you can learn about couples and friendships without having to say a word. There’s a markedly different aura between a couple just having a bad day and a couple that is just lacking a connection. With that said, it’s unfortunate for Kim.

Having spent some time in the theatre departments at a couple of schools…well, let’s just say homosexuality/bisexuality is well-represented, and the official entertainment media machine would like you to think that almost all of these people are straight, which just doesn’t jive.

This was many moons ago, but long time friends of the family moved to LA. The husband was an actor, did commercials, soap work, etc.
Anyway, a bunch of us in high school were fans of a handsome actor that turned out to be his friend. He got us autographed photos, etc.
But he did say that his friend was subjected to the casting couch despite not being gay. And that a lot of actors, who are starting their careers, are pressured for sex in order get roles. That it’s a lot more hush-hush than the female casting couch, and even worse, some of these powerful gay men like the fact that their victims/actors aren’t gay.
Of course, I’m not saying that Kanye was victim of it, nor that he’s gay. Though he does look cozy…lol. But rather these straight men who have these gay rumors following them… a casting couch might be where it started.
That said, the theater does have a higher percentage of gay men.
But “people” have been saying for YEARS that Kanye is gay. I figured he plays for both teams. But straight – no way!

The two men are much closer together physically than Kanye and Kim ever are in public. The two guys are leaning into each other in every picture I have seen and the other guy also has his arm around Kanye in every picture I’ve seen. Kanye doesn’t even walk *beside* Kim, nor does he lean into her or hug her. So maybe the rumors are true.
Kanye is such a narcissist I don’t think he’d be closeted. In his mind he’s utter perfection, practically a god, and everyone who thinks otherwise is just dirt on his shoe. There’s no reason for a personality type like that to keep a secret like this, they can’t even imagine a reality where they don’t get exactly what they want.
Besides, hooking up with Kim is more damaging to his reputation than being gay would ever be.
@Jess – While you do make valid points, I still think you’d have to consider the ‘genre’ he’s been (& wants to continue being) successful in.
I believe there’s still a lot of ‘stigma’ attached to being gay, when it comes to the hip-hop genre. There’s such a ‘tough guy-big pimpin-macho’ aspect connected to rap music.
That does NOT mean I believe all hip-hop artists or fans are against homosexuality or would write someone off for it. Just that not everyone who is into that kind of music would see an artist or their work the same, if they found out they were gay.
This. Definitely. I love rap & listen to a LOT of it (everything from old Biggie to braindead Gucci to underground acts like 100s) & the homophobic slurs here & there always make me mad. They seem to happen less and less (except, you know, if you’re stupid Tyler the creator… He’s so annoying), but they happen, and it sucks.
It’s definitely possible he’s gay, who knows. If he is, it could be an amazing thing for the genre of rap for him to come out of the closet. There are great gay rappers out there (Cakes da killa comes to mind) but Kanye is well regarded in the industry and if he was gay & came out, I don’t think it would hurt his career. I think he’s so established in history at this point, it would change the conversation. But maybe I’m just an idealist. 😉
Oh god yes. Listen to some old DMX and it’s painful. My husband was thoroughly sad–we listened to a lot of it growing up and you hear it, just don’t process it at that age.
Still, I don’t know. I think the black community is slowly becoming more accepting of gay people. Hell, my family went from, “YOU GOIN’ TO HAYLE!” to, “mild dislike” in 5 years. It’s kinda shocking to see. Baby steps.

While I’ve always been totally ‘liberal’ about such issues, my family (at least a large part) is very religious/conservative(/frustrating as hell). But slowly but surely, they’re improving.

FWIW, I don’t think the pics of him K&R are “proof” they are more comfortable with each other. I think Kanye is comfortable in front of cameras if he feels like he wants them to be there. (Think back to some early pics with Kim – he was smiling in those, too. I am thinking of the Halloween pics, specifically.) I think the problem is NOT that he’s gay, it’s just that he’s pissed off about the ever-present paps who are there after being called. And he has figured out that he has been totally used by the Klan. He looks furious to me in almost every picture with her. I personally believe Kanye is bi and the sad thing is that he chooses not to live his truth. He’s now involved with and made a child with a woman whom he obviously doesn’t love. Hopefully he will get the balls someday to live a more authentic life, whatever that may be.
I think she/they also lied about her due date and that is why he is hanging around now because he knows that kid is coming and coming soon. Two years, my brother got backstage passes to a kanye west concert. Anyway, he went some of his friends and their girlfriends. Kanye didn’t even make the effort to talk to them but granted them the opportunity to take picture with him. But he got angry when the guys tried to take with just them, he said he’ll take picture with the girls because taking a picture with only a guy or a group picture of just guys was so gay. Quote: “He ain’t no homo!” that were kanye words. To top it off he invited the girls to stick around but didn’t wish that boys presence. Is kanye gay? I don’t know but the kardashians are trying to ruin him to protect their own.

Well if you look at the body language between Kanye and Tisci versus that of Kanye and Kim, Kanye and Tisci look more like a couple. I think they are lovers. Just saying. I almost feel bad for Kanye…I think one of the reasons he is so angry and uptight is because he probably resents having to repress his sexuality.

I neither know nor care if Kanye is gay. But the story is amusing because one of the ways the K Klan tried to smear Kris Humphries very early was to try to spread the rumor that he was gay…That was back when Kim was desperately shifting stories every other day, trying to find one that people wouldn’t instantly think was ridiculous to explain her 72 day marriage after the wedding of the century.

Last year, on a primarily liberal rap/hip-hop & rap poetry/ politics/etc discussion group, someone posted a question asking how they would react upon finding out a major rap star is gay. Majority of people in this group are bright/college-educated, well-informed black 20-to-30 somethings—yet between a lot of responses concerning the macho nature of rap—most of the men & women said they’d prefer not to know. And those were among the more open-minded reactions.
