Here’s a hodge-podge of Cannes photos that I thought you’d enjoy. They’re from various events over the past few days. Let’s start with the current Cannes Girl of the Moment, Zhang Ziyi. Zhang has been everywhere in Cannes so far, and she’s part of the jury for Un Certain Regard. Zhang started out at The Great Gatsby premiere wearing a short, spiky (gross) wig and a pants-ensemble by Christian Dior. I hate the outfit, and I loathe the wig. The short green dress is from the jury photocall, and it’s Giambattista Valli. The black-and-grey Carolina Herrera ball gown is from a premiere last night
Berenice Bejo in Louis Vuitton at the Le Passe photocall today. I’m sorry, but this ensemble looks like a (fug) pair of pajamas.
Freida Pinto in Sanchita at a premiere last night. Bad color for her, I think, but the design is okay.
Sonam Kapoor in Dolce & Gabbana at The Bling ring premiere. I’m sorry, but I hate this.
Liya Kebede in Alberta Ferretti. Doily fug.
Robin Wright at the Cannes premiere of her new film, The Congress. The dress is meh and I really wish she would just grow out her hair a little. She can still keep it short, that’s fine with me, but it’s TOO short.
Fan Bingbing in Elie Saab. Everything this chick wears is SO saccharine.

I liked Sonam’s outfit, she works it, it is appropriate for this red carpet.
But I agree with you re: Fan, she really needs to lay off the fairy princess gowns just for one time.
I really like Sonam’s dress too! It’s cute and gives her a lovely little waist.
It’s a lovely dress, and she looks beautiful in it — but all the same, I couldn’t help but think of inverted teacups when I saw it.
Robin wright looks stunning. I’m not a ball gown person so the others are meh or fug- the chicky in the back ground of Frida pintos pic has a great skirt.

I love Zhang Ziyi. I think she is one of the most beautiful women alive. Also love Liya Kebede and Fredia Pinto. All three ladies are so stunning.

Zhang in the Carolina Hererra is very cool. The rest of the dresses are FUG.
And ditto on Robin Wright Penn’s hair. I am so sick of short hair on women. It is not punk. It is just plain ugly – unless your name is Halle Berry!

Yep… I don’t mind short hair, but her ‘do could definitely be edgier or more stylized. I loved HoC so much that I can overlook the slight matronly vibe I get from her current cut.
Overall, she looks awesomely sophisticated… not sure if it’s right for the event (given everyone else’s red carpet attire) but I’d love to wear her entire outfit!! And I adore Ziyi in the green GBV. *swoon*
I don’t know who Liya Kebede is, but I do know that she is not impressed. At all.
Also, I love Robin Wright’s envelope clutch! And although the wig was unfortunate, I kind of like Zhang Ziyi’s Christian Dior outfit. I like the colors in the top and would have liked it more as a dress, but it seems like she was just trying something different and having fun by switching it up.

I have pointy-tip pumps fever, and these pictures are not helping – at all. Zhang Ziyi in that green frock looks like the most beautiful wood fairie.
I have to admit I don’t get the pointy toed thing at all. But then I have size 9 feet, so…
I bet you’d look great in them! I wear size 6, and the construction of the shoe is actually not that striking in a small size.
Robin needs to let her hair grow long again. Short hair does not look good on her.

Not sure about her acting skills, but Zhang is certainly stunning. Agree about the bitch vibe though. She is pretty much universally disliked in China – at least according to every Chinese person I’ve ever asked.
