Anne Hathaway is still really blonde: does she need a hair intervention?

Here are some new photos of Anne Hathaway in NYC. She was with a friend and they went shopping at Haute Hippie. Annie has been popping up in NYC often enough over the past few weeks since the Met Gala, but these are the first candid photos we’ve had of her since she changed her hair to this dramatic blonde. While I enjoyed the blonde on the Met Gala red carpet, I’m not so sure about it in everyday life.

I was kind of hoping Annie would just be blonde for the Met Gala and she would go back to a brunette shade soon after, but as the weeks go on… I guess we have to acknowledge that this is her new look. Perhaps she’s keeping the blonde for her part in Christopher Nolan’s new sci-fi film, Interstellar? Annie will be working with Jessica Chastain, Matthew McConaughey and Michael Caine, and Steven Spielberg is producing. Does bleach-blonde = futuristic sci-fi?

I hate to say it, but Anne needs to take some hair tips from Miley Cyrus – dark roots will make her blonde look so much better and less washed-out. That’s my advice for Annie. And I actually think she’s taking my advice, so I hope she listen to this.

The other advice I heard on fashion police this weekend (home sick and was bored) was that Anne’s problem is that she’s still doing her makeup like she’s a brunette. And you do makeup completely differently on someone who is a blonde. It’s the reason her red carpet looks have looked so off IMO.

But yea, she needs something at the roots or a darker blonde.

That’s totally true, when you change your hair color you often have to change your makeup. I have really dark hair (naturally) and I’m gradually going a bit lighter for the summer and my hair stylist told me “don’t forget to consider your makeup.” Mind you, she doesn’t seem to be wearing any in these pics so…yeah. :p

That said, I do agree that darker roots would definitely help her here.

I’d guess she thinks this shade is fun and different but I cannot imagine a less flattering hair color on her. She needs to change it, imo.

I think she looks cute, in a hipstery way, and she looks happy, which I particularly enjoy. Good for her!

I think she looks cute here too.

And her friend is really pretty – those sunglasses look like they were designed for her. I wish I had sunglasses that looked that good on me

I’m with you. The short brunette hair made her look kind of dumpy. She’s got a little spark now that she hasn’t had since the Oscar blowback started.

I think she looks awesome. Pre-hair makeover, if you had asked me what I’d think of AnnE with short platinum hair, I would have laughed my ass off.

But this bitch is working this haircut like nobody’s business.

      I agree.

I love it also–it’s like Draco Malfoy grew up to be one hot woman. I mean that in the most complimentary way possible.

    Dibs on the sunglasses!

  5. Shelley says:

I think she looks cute…She looks a lot better than other bolndes…eg Michelle Williams

      I couldn’t disagree more.

    • Belle says:

I have to disagree as well on this one. I don’t hate Anne’s hair, but if we are comparing, I like Michelle’s MUCH better.

      • TheOriginalKitten says:

+1. Michelle is not the right blonde to compare Anne too. Michelle owns the blonde pixie cut-it’s her trademark look.

She’s kind of known for her dark hair & eyes (and big smile). She’s unrecognizable with this hair and it’s super unflattering for her skin tone.

  7. Lee says:

she looks like Chris Hemsworth’s wife now

  8. Tessa says:

She did it for a movie she’s filming soon, I think. At least that’s what I heard, so it’s possible I’m wrong.

  9. BLA says:

I just want someone to tell her not to wear rubber leggings. Get some pants, girl.

  10. lisa says:

the color and cut – she’s all nose and mouth, like a barbra streisand pacman

her natural color was pretty, let it grow. please.

  11. siobhan says:

I kinda like the blonde and her friend is really cute.

  12. Aria says:

Not everyone is born to be A BLONDE. Anne is one of them. Thank God she’s back to her normal weight. She looks pretty and healthy again.

  13. anneesezz says:

She is just as annoying as every other hipster douche living in Brooklyn. And, I can’t believe her friend is smoking.

  14. Mayday says:

    The problem is the SHADE

Her hair and skin are the same color.

I’m sure she could pull off being a blonde if it was the proper shade, Or she got a tan.

The hair skin and teeth are all the same color – dude needs to start drinking more wine.

  15. Sarah says:

I just think it is nice that she looks happy. She’s looked miserable for at least 6 months, though I attributed part of that to her Oscar campaign role of “tortured artist.” Then, it continued – perhaps in response to Hathahate. But she looks happy here and I’m glad for her.

  16. Ramona Q. says:

Ugh, that big cold core on her bottom lip! How bout some red lipstick on breakout days, Anne?!

  17. kim says:

Is trying to be michelle williams cute, but failing?

I guess since I don’t personally know her I can’t say it goes with her personality. Although she does come across as a sociopath, so maybe the hair does belong with her ….crazy loves crazy.

  18. serena says:

She looks like a ghost with blonde hair.

  19. xxx says:

Er… Plus another factor to consider is that bleaching the cr*p out of your naturally dark hair is not great for it, so you really need to wait for a while and then gradually transition back to brunette in order to minimise the damage to your hair. Going white blonde for one night then back to brunette the next day would probably make your hair sizzle and die.
