Amanda Bynes claims In Touch published ‘fake altered photos’ of her drug den

Ugh. Okay, let’s do this in chronological order (sort of). In Touch Weekly’s cover story this week is all about Amanda Bynes and her Spiral of Sketchiness. Amanda has been in NYC for months, acting shady/crazy and tweeting constantly. She’s been threatening to sue anyone who reports on her antics and she’s taken particular aim at In Touch Weekly for running a series of unflattering articles. And you know what? I’m STILL not sure if all of this is part of some performance art or if she has legitimate mental health issues. No… let me say that a different way. I’m sure she has legitimate mental health issues. But I’m not sure if she’s also “playing up” and famewhoring in addition to her mental health issues. So here’s In Touch’s story:

As late-night revelers opened the door to Amanda Bynes’ large but sparsely furnished NYC apartment for an impromptu party, they were shocked by what they discovered inside. Exclusive photos obtained by In Touch appear in this week’s issue, exposing the troubled star’s party life. Photos taken inside her apartment during a long night of partying reveal her disheveled living conditions, and Amanda herself atop a bare mattress, smoking a joint and obsessively refreshing her phone’s Twitter feed. She is also pictured applying her makeup and dancing (much like her infamous “getting-ready” Twitter video that went viral), with a strange man “dancing behind her, and smoking weed with her,” says “Joe” to In Touch, a photographer who was inside Amanda’s apartment that night, who doesn’t want his real name used.

“She probably gets so high that sometimes she won’t even leave her house,” claims photographer Giovanni Arnold, who was also at Amanda’s apartment that night along with “Joe.” “One minute she’s cool and down-to-earth. The next, she’s totally different — indecisive, and she can’t hold a conversation,” he tells In Touch. “Mentally, she’s all over the place.”

Despite Amanda telling In Touch she doesn’t have a mental disorder or drink or smoke pot, Giovanni and “Joe” claim Amanda had plenty of marijuana in her apartment. “Weed was everywhere,” says Giovanni. “On the bed, all over the floor.” Giovanni also alleges she did cocaine when they were at her place, although Amanda denies it, telling In Touch, “They’re the ones into drugs, so they bring drugs, but I don’t do them.”

Drug claims aside, it would be hard for Amanda to deny the conditions in which she lives. “Her living room is basically empty,” describes “Joe.” Blinds hang on three windows near her bed, while the other windows are spray-painted black. (“It’s almost like she couldn’t bother to get more blinds,” says Giovanni.)

After her impromptu photo shoot, of which “Joe” says, “Her dress was tight and sheer and you could see her bra — she seemed to like that,” the party continued into the wee morning hours when Amanda kicked her guests out around 5 a.m.

[From In Touch Weekly]

Jezebel read the cover story and they say one of these photographers hooked up with Amanda too, although they didn’t sleep together and she woke the guy up at 5 am and said, “Honey, you have to go home now.” You can see some of the photos from her “drug den” here at Jezebel.

So, obviously, Amanda got on Twitter to correct the record. She tweeted: “This ugly faced woman @JessicaFinnNYC is the one who bought fake photos of me & put that picture that looks nothing like me on the cover!” And she also tweeted this:

That’s not my bed! Those aren’t my toes! My toes are pedicured! I just did an exclusive interview with intouch last week, now they bought fake altered photos by that ugly black man in the photo or someone who knows him! They used an old shot of me on the cover with a bad angle of my old nose before I had surgery to reshape my profile and to remove the webbing from my eyes. I have to sue because that’s not my apartment, those aren’t my clothes! They morphed photos of my face onto someone’s body to ruin my life! I have to make a big deal of this and sue because that’s not me! I care about my appearance so I have to defend myself! I look like a different person now that I had surgery! Why did they put an old shot of me on the cover? I don’t look like that anymore! I only want photos of my gorgeous new nose on the cover of tabloids and real magazines! The photos in this issue are fake and mocked up! I don’t care enough to keep talking about it. Just assume that I f–ked the boyfriend of the editor of intouch because they f–king hate me!

[From Amanda’s Twitter]

Yeah. Is there anything else to really say? Let’s see if I can find some photos of Amanda post-nose-reshaping and post-eye-de-webbing. Oh, right – Amanda threatens to sue people if they don’t use her Twitter photos. So here you go.

    the pierced cheeks are gross

    • Agreed. I hate most piercings but these are the ugliest I’ve ever seen. Yuck!

    • Rachel says:

Is that what that is?!?! Looks like a mole she tried to cover up. There’s a girl who works at the gas station by my office. I don’t know how long ago she removed her cheek piercings, but she still has the holes from them. It’s definitely… jarring.

    • deehunny says:

They are subdermal piercings. They have an “anchor” of sorts underneath the skin that keeps them in place. An acquaintance I knew got them on her hips/ovaries area. They must chafe when she changes tight pants.

  2. wonderwoman21 says:

I honestly think her delusion is completely real. Girl has problemos

  3. Migdalia says:

I dont know man…multiple personality disorder? Maybe character acting in All That really triggered something. I really cannot believe this is the girl that I grew up with. She was supposed to be one of the level headed ones. Reading that tweet had me in deer in headlight mode the whole time!

    • V4Real says:

I’ve asked the same question. I remember when you hardly ever heard any negative press about her. I didn’t watch her TV show but I had seen some of her movies such as “She’s the Man, What a Girl Want and Sydney White. I thought she was going to have an ok career, boy was I wrong.

      • Rhea says:

I thought the same. No negative press, no sign of trouble then one day she said she would retire and—BAM!!—A whole new different Amanda coming out now.

She was such a sweet girl back then (in her movies at least). This situation is just plain sad.

    • paranormalgirl says:

Playing multiple characters in a television show would not “trigger” Dissociative Identity Disorder.

  4. KaraAngela says:

Seriously…what happened to this poor girl to make her be this way now?! It’s so sad…and I can’t not look away….

    • chibichichai says:

normally I would love a good train wreck as much as anybody else does. however there is just something really wrong about this situation. I just it is morally wrong finding any gratification of this girls have mental health issues. I don’t know why I’m taking such a pious with this one but I really feel for her. maybe it’s because I have work in healthcare for most of my life

  5. k says:

It’s actually really interesting how obsessed with looks she is. I wonder if it isn’t because it’s all she’s known since she was a kid in the business, the focus on the outside. Even when she’s insulting people it’s all about how ugly they are.

I dunno, I think it’s real. I hope they’re able to get her some help pretty quickly.

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

Yeah I know people call her a narcissist but to me, she sounds like someone who suffer from severe self-loathing.

  6. Nicolette says:

WTF has happened to her? Seriously, when did she become so mental and isn’t anyone helping her? Doesn’t anyone in her family give a crap about her, it’s sad.

  7. TheOriginalKitten says:

“Giovanni also alleges she did cocaine when they were at her place, although Amanda denies it, telling In Touch, ‘They’re the ones into drugs, so they bring drugs, but I don’t do them.'”

How often does that REALLY happen? If you’re doing drugs you’re not gonna use at the house of someone who doesn’t use. You’re gonna do it before you come over, in the bathroom or go for a ride so you can get your fix. I mean, get real. If people are doing drugs at her house, it’s almost guaranteed that she’s doing it with them.

    • anon33 says:

      THANK YOU.

Plus, if you “aren’t into” drugs, generally speaking, you WOULD NOT ALLOW people that use into your home knowingly, precisely BECAUSE you don’t agree with using. She is 100% FOS.

  8. Nemesis says:

Did she actually write that or did Michael D write it for her?

  9. LB says:

I love mocking celebrities as much as anyone but this situation isn’t funny. I think she seriously needs help. It’s hard to read about this stuff without wondering about her mental state and why she isn’t getting some sort of treatment.

  10. Mich says:

Based on absolutely no medical training, I think she is bipolar. It is really sad that no one can intervene until she becomes a threat to herself or someone else.

  11. paranormalgirl says:

My best guess without having treated her would be bipolar disorder (with severe mania and less severe depression.) But that’s just a guess from tabloid reports and is not valid in any way, shape, or form.

  12. Pastyousayyouneverknew says:

Looking at this girl makes me cringe. Where is her family in all of this? I really get the sense that she is truly alone in all of this.

    • Kate says:

They may be in denial, but she’s also an adult and a lot of families of troubled adults will tell you that it’s nearly impossible to get them help.

    • nc_magnolia says:

      ITA.

Even if I was legally of age, my parents would have flown across the country in a nano flash if I started exhibiting behaviour like Amanda’s. Where are her parents??

  13. Hannah says:

Well, I don’t understand why her parents haven’t grabbed her, brought her home and detoxed her. (although, in my experience with family members that is easier said than done)

I will say though…as ill as she is…I’m not necessarily buying the photos. They could have said that was an Olsen twin or Stodden.

Either way this is a case of people trying to profit from a very ill girl.

  14. Kay V says:

Sad that folks make a meal off of someone else’s mental illness. Has anyone tried helping her?

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

A more relevant question would be “does she WANT help?”

You can’t force someone into treatment-she has to want to help herself. Currently, she’s deeply entrenched in a delusional state with a lot of denial about her behavior. It’s not going to be easy to try to help someone in that condition.

  15. FLORC says:

The Soup stated it very well with their segment titled Lindsey and Amanda: Drag Race To Death. Who’s going to win?

  16. MAC says:

Not a Dr. She is self medicating being bipolar. She displays a lot of bipolar behaviors. Sorry I just saw others have said the same thing. I pray for her. I hope she does not get put in Jail for drug use when she clearly needs help/treatment.

  17. Lulu says:

Why hasn’t she been 5150’d? She has more than made a public nuisance of herself, with her undressing and behaving in a generally crazy/disorderly manner. I don’t get it.

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

She lives in NYC and a 5150 hold is Cali only. And I’m pretty sure it has to go beyond just acting out or being a public nuisance–I believe she has to pose a threat to herself/and or others.

    • paranormalgirl says:

New York has different involuntary commitment laws. You can be involuntarily committed under the two p.c (two physician certification) in which 2 doctors have to agree that the person is a danger to herself or others. The two p.c. has to be accompanied by an application from a family member, treating psychiatrist, legal guardian, etc. Under a medical certification hold, a person can be held for 60 days. The other way is certification by a director of community services. This hold is 15 days after examination by a staff doctor and for a longer stay, it must be converted to a medical certification hold.

There’s also Criminal Procedure Law and Correction Law Admissions, which requires arrest and then certification.

      • chibichichai says:

thank you for explaining how New York works. I’m from the state and I didn’t even know all of that

  18. Mia 4S says:

I know it’s tempting to yell at her family for not getting involved but people need to realize it is not that easy. She’s still functioning to enough of a degree that I doubt they could get a psychiatric hold on her, let alone a guardianship. Barring that, she’s an independent adult and they could be arrested if they tried to restrain or “grab” her. I know people cite Spears but don’t doubt for a second that things were much worse there than the public was ever allowed to know. Sadly things will need to get much, much worse before they would have a practical ability to step in.

  19. ramie says:

I don’t even remember what she’s famous for, but she needs to go away. Stop giving her the attention she craves & maybe she’ll fall off the face of the earth.

    • hayley says:

i agree with this. i’m certainly not a doctor but to me it seems less like she has mental problems and more like she just enjoys being back in the spotlight. ever since her DUI last year when her name was back in the headlines these stories have gotten more and more outrageous. i think she’s just happy that people are paying attention to her again, especially since her acting career all but vanished.

  20. Original Me says:

What does “webbing” around her eyes and nose mean? She keeps talking about having webbing removed from her face. Sounds kind of paranoid or something.

  21. Skins says:

Shame about this one. She really seemed to have some talent. Stumbled across one of her movies one time and to my surprise, it was really good. She was funny, charming, beautiful, and it was a really funny flick. Sad to see her go off the rails like this. And to see a no-talent like The Cracken get chance after chance and thumb her nose at everybody makes it worst. Hope she can get it together and come back

  22. blaize says:

I do believe that she has some kind of mental illness, but I also suspect that she’s been really playing up her problems and desperately seeking attention. I think she wants to be like Lindsay Lohan, or Britney Spears when she had the breakdown. Lindsay has been a mess for 7 or 8 years now, but you can’t say that her problems haven’t added to her career and increased her ‘relevance’. Same with Britney, although I respect her for getting help and trying to get better.

  23. KellyinSeattle says:

In the last photo, she looks exactly like Octomom.

  25. K-rock says:

Why can’t I see the pics of her apartment “drug den” from the link? Were they taken down or am I just not finding them?

  26. nico says:

Homegirl looks like OCTOMOM in those twitter pics.

She use to be so pretty, its sad
