At first glance, I was shaking my head at this story (as well as Chris Brown’s crazy Billboard Awards sweater), but there’s a little more than meets the eye. Breezy got into a little fender bender last week in Toluca Lake, California, and the Mail has photos of the incident that show Chris and Karrueche Tran talking with the woman whose car Chris rear ended with his overwrought Range Rover. So when TMZ came out with a story today about how police are investigating Chris for hit-and-run in conjunction with this accident, I just couldn’t see how this was a thing. But wait! It turns out that Chris was a real douche to this woman after the accident. He not only refused to give the woman his driver’s license number, but he also gave her bogus insurance info as well. Here are the details:

BIG TROUBLE for Chris Brown — TMZ has learned the LAPD is investigating the singer, and it could trigger a probation violation that could land him in prison.

What could have been a simple fender bender earlier this week is now a full-blown hit-and-run investigation … after Chris Brown allegedly refused to give the driver he rear-ended his driver’s license #. We’re told he also gave the woman incorrect insurance info.

What’s more … we’re now told Chris copped an attitude when the woman pressed him for his ID, before refusing to ante up his DL.

Brown is on probation for the Rihanna beating, and one of the conditions is that he obey all laws. If there’s probable cause to believe he broke the law by leaving the scene without fully disclosing information required by law, his probation could be violated and Chris could go to prison for up to 4 years.

We’re told LAPD would like to chit chat with Chris … STAT. Calls to Chris’ camp weren’t returned.

Man, what a d-ck move. Obviously, Chris has the money (with or without insurance) to pay for the damage to this woman’s car, but he just doesn’t want to do it. Supposedly, the hit-and-run aspect of this incident will jeopardize the terms of Chris’ probation (he’s still on the hook for beating up Rihanna), but you know the California courts won’t do anything about it. For his part, Chris is denying this story and says the woman’s car suffered no damage. What will happen is that Chris will eventually and begrudgingly hand some money to this woman, and everything will disappear.

Oh, and of course Karruche is back to living with Chris again. According to Hollywood Life, she got tired of travelling for booty calls and decided to stay at his house. Whatev.
