Cute, but I’m not interested in diamonds if I have cancer.

    • Marty says:

She said he was her favorite actor and would love to meet him one day, I think she was just happy about that.

    • moon says:

It’s still a very sweet gesture though.

But it’s scary she got cancer so young. And it’s becoming more common for young people.

    • Katie says:

I’m pretty sure you’re allowed to still be interested in things other than hospitals, medicine, and doctors when you have cancer.

If I was dying, I would still wear that necklace until the day I died and tell everyone TOM HARDY GAVE THIS TO ME! Whether it’s for a day, a month, a year.

  2. Chicagogurl says:

I rewatched Skyfall last night and that whole movie is just pure eye candy. Sam should film all Bond films.

Tom is such a sweety and dayum the things I would do to those lips.

  3. Anna says:

I first saw him in Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy and his face freaked the hell out of me. Still feel the same way. But he seems like a nice enough guys, and he says pretty interesting stuff in the interviews (I loved his comments last year on ‘experimenting’ with guys – like “dude, I’m an actor, of course I did.”) So ok, he can stay for now 🙂

    • T.Fanty says:

You know, the snaggletooth has been putting me off for a while, as has the chunkiness and quite frankly, appalling taste that made him wear enormous bomber jackets out in public (because apparently, it’s 1992 and he’s off to a party in Basildon). That pic above is the best he’s looked in a *long* time. Bravo, sir.

    • insomniac says:

      He had me at “Inception.”

And I think it’s so sweet that he did that. I hear a lot about celebrities reaching out to children with serious illnesses (which is wonderful too), but I don’t often hear about them reaching out to ill adults.

    • Miss M says:

<– Wuthering Heights. Then, he lost me. Then, he had me back at the puppy pics 🙂

  4. HappyMom says:

Off topic-but did you see the photos on DM of Salma Hayek with her family in Venice? She must have had a breast reduction or had her implants removed.

    • don't kill me i'm french says:

she tried to have another baby so maybe she was under treatement and she has stopped

  5. TheOriginalKitten says:

Am I going to have to get a terminal illness? Is that what it’s gonna take for me to get a date with Hardy??????
    Cuz I’ll do it.

Ok that might have been a bit crass on my part but he is just such a fucking rad guy. Hot, a great actor and by everything I’ve seen, a total sweetheart.

    Never disappoint me, Hardy….

    …or else!

    • marie says:

haha, awesome. That’s a really cool thing he did..

and maybe you could steal the dog and send Tom a ransom demand? that is such a cute dog.

    • T.Fanty says:

TOK: that is *so* bad. If you’re licking a deodorant, or any other household chemical at this time, please put it down and walk away.

Equally bad is the fact that all I can think of is how many Hiddleston girls on tumblr are all wondering how to fake cancer to get a visit.

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

@Marie-I wouldn’t do that to me and Tom’s Love Puppy.

@T. Fanty-the Hiddlestans would gladly be roadkill under Hiddles’ limo if it meant he would notice them.

No elaborate schemes for me-I’m going old school caveman-style, clubbing Tom over the head, and dragging him back to my lair. A gal can’t take any chances ya know?

  6. Marty says:

His fiancée was there too…if anyone cares.

Kaiser you should have posted a link to that Hollywood Reporter round-table video. I can’t believe what Monica Potter said to Kerry Washington!

    • jaye says:

What did Monica Potter say to Kerry Washington? I saw the that the video was over an hour long and I just don’t want to invest that much time in finding out.

      • Marty says:

She turned to Kerry and said, “Oh, you’re really smart. You went to college?” in a surprised tone. It really brought her down a couple of notches in my book.

      • lucy2 says:

It’s in the first few minutes.

I just watched it and didn’t think there was anything all that wrong with what she said. They were talking about jobs they had before acting, and Kerry mentioned substitute teaching and all the different subjects she’d taught, and I took it more that Monica was impressed she had done that, as she herself (and 2 others on the panel) didn’t go to college and couldn’t have done that particular job.

      • Marty says:

I’m sorry, but who says “Oh, so you’re really smart, like in real life.” And then follows it up by asking if she went to college. That’s is such a backhand comment.

    • freya says:

Yes. His fiancee was the one who set it all up. Now that’s a good heart.

      • Miss Grey says:

but I thought Tom and his fiancee broke-up, unfortunately, I was really counting on him being single. :/

      • Isabelle says:

Charlotte did set it up. Cute couple and guess those break-up rumors were false.

      • Liv says:

Yay! They are still together! 🙂 She seems so nice and decent, good for him!

  7. Jenna says:

He’s a sweetie, but when I saw those pictures all I thought was: “OMG what the hell have you done, Tom?!” I’m not feeling this look of his. 🙁

    • Marty says:

I think “Warrior” and “This Means War” are my favorite looks of his.

      • Jenna says:

He’s BEAUTIFUL in ‘This Means War’ and just damn right walking gritty sex in ‘Warrior’. Unf. *shifts eyes to Karl* Not that I’m not TOTALLY happy with what I have now. 😛

      • Chutzpah says:

Hell – I even fancied him years ago when he was an alien in Star Trek – now THATS commitment to a cause.

      • insomniac says:

Heck, I even thought he was sexy as Bane, when he had most of his face covered.

      • Jenna says:

While I thought he was attractive in ‘Inception’ I went for JGL; I didn’t want to bang that with the power of Thor’s hammer until I saw him as Bane though. =X

      • Trek Girl says:

@Chutzpah: I’ve been a fan of his since ST: Nemesis as well. Gosh, he was great in that movie. Imagine my surprise when I found out he transformed himself for “Bronson”. I didn’t know the man could get that big.

  8. Tiffany27 says:

That After Earth article is scary as hell. Now I have 2 reasons not to see it. The first being it just looks bad.

  9. Migdalia says:

The article of what Russell Simmons wrote about Amanda Bynes should be linked up there instead of the other thing

  10. don't kill me i'm french says:

do the actors in TDKR be a part to a contest on “we love the fans” or “awesome guys finally”?

  11. Lucy2 says:

That’s so sweet of him. Good luck to the girl fighting cancer, what a thing to go through so young.

After Earth sounds creepy when described like that. Will Smith is credited with the story. Hmm.

  12. Pam says:

I wish he would give me a pearl necklace.

  13. miffy says:

That is just lovely. I don’t get why more celebs aren’t like this, they’re in such a position to make a gesture that would mean the world to someone. I’d love to be able to do that!

    • Trek Girl says:

A lot of celebrities do things like this, we just don’t always find out about it. It has been way easier for news like this to make it out in the past few years because of Twitter and similar sites.

  14. Sachi says:

I watched Lawless over and over just for him. He was a bit “bulky” in that film but the intensity of his character as well as Tom’s acting chops were awesome. He just commands a scene with his presence which was impressive since Guy Pearce and Shia held their own.

He was so cute all the way back in Band of Brothers, too. 😀

He seems to be a really nice guy, but also someone with flaws and has his share of problems/issues. It’s nice to see him helping others.

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

There were a few biscuit-tingly scenes in Lawless between Hardy and Chastain’s character where I was glad I was alone…

He plays that strong, silent type so well.

I’m glad to hear you give Shia some credit. I know his douchiness makes everyone hate him but the kid can act.

      • Sachi says:

I loved the quiet moments between him and Chastain when they’d just look at each other and smolder. 😀

I love me some Shia, even way back from the first Transformers film. He’s a good actor and I’ve always found him cute playing that shy, awkward character.

IMO his chemistry with Mia Wasikowska really worked in Lawless.

      • TheOriginalKitten says:

        Totally agree with you, Sachi.

So you need to visit the next Shia thread and help me out when I’m getting eaten alive for defending him ok? I need at least one more good soldier on my team, deal? 😉

      • amy says:

You should love the story going around on how he makes sure the first agent who discovered him at age 11 still gets a percentage of his wages.

      • truthSF says:

@amy: I freaking love the story of him still paying his first agent a percentage of his paycheck, make me respect him so much more after reading that story.

And to you and TOK…yes, Shia is very talented and can act his ass off. Even if does act douchey sometimes in real life.

      • Trek Girl says:

I’ve loved Shia since Even Stevens and Holes. He really is talented.

He does do some odd things, but he has had an odd life. A lot of people have no idea about that or would care if they found. He’s just some rich “douche” who doesn’t know how good he has it, to them.

    • Jackie says:

Lawless is what made me fall in love with him. The way he looked at Jessica Chastain made me melt. What a man. I became obsessed with watching all his movies after that.

    • Jenna says:

He was bulking up for Bane when he shot that, but that southern drawl (paired with those grunts) really did it for me. Le Unf.

  15. Mew says:

It’s a dude doing this – it’s so cute pants are creamed just reading it. If it was Angelina Jolie, it would’ve been just begging for attention. Funny that…

Anyway, good for him doing charitable things.

  16. Original A says:

Tom Hardy is the best. Seriously. I’d love for the rumors about him playing Elton John in an upcoming film to be true.

  17. How very nice of him…
