Princess Madeleine marries commoner, wears Valentino: lovely or underwhelming?

This post is by request – you girls seem to LOVE wedding stuff, particularly royal wedding stuff, and there seems to be a growing affection for all things Swedish royal family. Note: this post is just for the wedding dress p0rn. I’ll have a separate post for the wedding guests and the other members of the Swedish royal family.

So, the basics. On June 8th (Saturday), Princess Madeleine of Sweden married a British-American commoner named Christopher O’Neill. He’s some kind of banker in NYC, and Madeleine is going to move full-time to NYC now, where they will live all the time I guess. Maybe she’ll come back to Sweden a few times a year for special events. As we discussed last month, O’Neill has refused a royal title and he seems to eschew the royal life and life in Sweden. I guess he has his own money, and whatever. Many of you seem to think he has a case of douche-face, and the wedding photos don’t do much to dispel that.

Maddy (I’m going to call her Maddy because I hate typing out “Madeleine” over and over) wore a wedding gown designed by Valentino. It had white lace and a “four-meter long train” which is pretty small considering most royal wedding gown trains. Personally, I find the gown underwhelming for royal-wedding standards. I’m finding it hard to believe that Valentino even made this gown specifically for her – it looks like something she chose off the rack and then got tailored (poorly, because the lace part doesn’t fit properly). I also hate the dust ruffle at the bottom of the dress. That’s so tacky!!

What do I like about this? Let’s see… I don’t mind the cap sleeves, truly. I think too many brides go strapless and end up regretting it, and if Maddy had gone with full-length lace sleeves, she would be seen as “copying Duchess Kate”. So the cap-sleeve was a compromise, and it works. I love the tiara and I love that she’s not wearing a necklace, just the tiara and those HUGE earrings (and that bracelet which… she could lose and the whole ensemble would still work). On another girl, I might hate the big earrings, but they work here, I think because they “balance out” the tiara. I also like the subtle pattern of the fabric – it’s nice, and it’s more interesting in close-ups. Oh, and I LOVE that she’s gone darker with her hair. I remember when she was super-blonde, but this brunette shade really suits her.

Last thing: that kiss looks really awkward, right? Ugh. I hope she’s happy.

    She looks stunning!

    • polkasox says:

Agreed! I don’t love the dust ruffle on the bottom of the dress but otherwise I think she looks gorgeous.

    • A says:

Yes, she looks amazing – the dress does not.

      • FLORC says:

Maybe it’s just my taste, but her dress looks gorgeous and more importantly comfortable! Maybe the sleeve could have been fitted tighter with a stretchier material, but it’s simple and elegant. Since she seems to be drifting away from royal life it seems appropriate she wanted a more subdued wedding.

And just for comment condensing No one will ever be able to pull off Kate’s wedding dress when she wore it to such a heavily televised wedding, but her dress was a copy of another royal wedding dress in recent history. Though the original dress wasn’t the quality Kate’s was (lace hand made with hands washed ever 30 minutes) it was still not original.
        http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/royal-wedding/8508627/Royal-wedding-Europe-cries-copycat-Kate-over-wedding-dress.html

      • SamiHami says:

There is a striking similarity between the two dresses, but honestly Kate’s is much, much better. It’s fitted better and the detailing is far superior. It’s undoubtedly the same style, but I don’t quite think it’s fair to call it an outright “copycat.”

    • Liz says:

I think the whole look from head to toe is beautifully. It looks classy and fit for a princess.
I also feel that the train is the perfect modern day length for a princess. This classy look is exactly the opposite of what a Kim K & Kanye wedding dress would be.

    • karen says:

      Elegant. Poised. Feminine. Tastefully dressed.

    • JenD says:

Agreed, she and the dress are beautiful. And Valentino did design the dress specifically for her, according to a quote he gave about being honored she chose his design.

  2. lisa says:

i’m a less is more wedding dress person

so many dresses are everything including the kitchen sink and look like the wedding will be in hef’s grotto

maddie looks lovely. unfortunately, her fiance has a serious case of doucheface. i hope that is just how he photographs.

    • chi says:

On the pictures, yes it’s a doucheface. But I’ve seen footages of the ceremony and he looked very humble and emotional, almost in tears. Of course he can be an excellent actor, but I think he truly loves her and just uncomfortable with all the attention.

      • lisa says:

i really hope so. he did seem moved in the ceremony. not everyone photographs great

my friend thinks he looks like some actor (we cant place of course) who always played villains so maybe that is what i am seeing.

      • Coconut says:

At first, I wasn’t sure about him because he never really smiles in photos. But when I saw him all choked up and emotional in the wedding footage, I realized he really loves her. He’s not the most handsome or charming man I’ve seen, but it’s clear he adores Madeline.

      • Moon The Loon says:

All my wedding photos had me doing what we’re calling here “doucheface.” And I was the bride!

Everyone who knows my husband and I know that ours is a marriage of love. I just honestly hate being the center of attention. Our wedding was microscopic in comparison, but I still nearly had a nervous breakdown at the altar. I don’t want to know what my disposition would have been if it was the size this one likely was.

    • L says:

Here’s a youtube link of her walking down the aisle (btw, the children’s choir? adorable) His face was clearly full of emotion, and at one point he was crying.

It changed my opinion of him quite a bit.

  3. lady mary. says:

not one of Valentino’s best work, but she looks beautiful and simple

  4. Eleonor says:

I like the dress, really. It’s very elaborated if you look it carefully, but simple at the same time. And jewl pr0n, Love it.

  5. Cool Phosphorescent Shimmer says:

She is so beautiful and looks completely happy. I love it when brides shine light from their faces in their happiness, and she is doing that all over these pictures.

The lace thing is confusing…it seems to be moving around in unpredictable ways. Fortunately, her face is so radiant that it doesn’t even matter.

  6. lisa2 says:

She looks lovely. I just don’t like the dress. It is just too busy for me. And too white if that makes sense.

They are way more affectionate than Will/Kate were. Congrats to the happy couple

    • judyjudy says:

I agree that the dress is too white. It would look amazing if it were a slightly more sophisticated shade.

And what’s up with his hair? He seems to have plenty of it so why does the part start all the way over by his ear?

    • Lana says:

The dress is too white because her skin is a little tan. Still gorgeous though!

  7. Birdie says:

She looks absolutely stunning. Very beautiful, hair and make-up are flawless. The dress is not very “modern”, but it suits her and she looks so royal and pretty. It all works.

  8. aims says:

I think she looks lovely. I have such esteem for Victoria, but as far as looks goes, I think Maddy’s prettier. She looks happy, But I agree the kiss looks a little weird. Awkward, I guess. I wish them a happy, loving, fulfilling marriage.

    • sauvage says:

It does look akward in photograph, but not in motion, I promise. It was a very loving, happy kiss.

  9. Jen says:

I like that the cap sleeve slid off her shoulder and she sincerely doesn’t look like she cares. That to me is a happy wedding photo – hair mussed, something’s gone wrong, whatever, and they’re still beaming all over their faces because they got MARRIED!

I’m getting married in like 8 weeks so I am kind of biased on this. But awwwww.

    • Ag says:

      Congrats!

You’re right! We got married during Hurricane Irene. There were glitches, but it was perfect. 🙂

  10. KLO says:

They look very happy and in love. It`s refreshing to see in royal wedding photos 🙂

I`m SO glad Madeleine went brunette again. The blonde hair totally ruined her natural beauty but now she`s super gorgeous again 🙂

  11. Vee says:

She is a much more attractive woman than he is a man. Their looks are out of balance. Other than that, she looks happy and radiant.

  12. Hautie says:

I really like her gown. I also see the beauty in the small details of it. Love that Madeleine went traditional with the gown’s style… and wore great family jewels.

So it’s not some crazy over the top tricked out dress. Thank goodness!

And she can actually move and breath in it. I am so tired of seeing bride’s in skin tight dresses. Strapless, boobs smashed and back fat.

And twenty years from now… when she looks back at photo’s of it. She will have no reason for regrets.

    • Janet says:

Co-sign. Except for the dust ruffle on the bottom the dress is lovely and classy. I hate seeing brides stuffed into strapless dresses looking like walking kielbasas. And the ones with mermaid bottoms look beyond ridiculous.

      • SamiHami says:

“Walking Kielbasa’s!”-LMAO!!! I love that & fully intend to steal it 🙂

I don’t know why, but I seem to watch a lot of “Say Yes To The Dress” and I cringe everytime a bride tries on one of those stupid kielbasa gowns. And I hate the mermaid thing, too. Very, very few women look good in those styles.

  13. Virgilia Coriolanus says:

I think he loves her very much, but he looks really uncomfortable in most of these shots….probably because of the cameras. Let’s hope this doesn’t turn into another JFK jr and Carolyn Bessette issue with them in NYC. Do the paparazzi even really care about royal families?

    • Shannon1972 says:

I think they will be fine in NYC. Unless it is Will and Kate (who are definitely a thing here), I don’t think anyone will bother them. Not sure the paparazzi even know who any of the other European royals are.

That said, I think she looks radiant! I think the style of the gown is very traditional, and she looks every inch the happy bride.

    • m says:

I was a little indifferent about him, but after watching the wedding, he won me over. He was so affectionate and sweet, and it was adorable how he was trying so hard not to cry when Maddie was walking gown the aisle!

    • mslewis says:

I guarantee there will be no problems with the paps in NYC. Maddy has already lived there for about three years and the past two she has lived with Chris in a nice apartment, I think, in SOHO. There have been almost no photos of them. Americans don’t really care about any royals but the Brits.

    • Kiddo says:

Maybe it’s those stupid balloonish tux pants that he’s wearing. Big and pleaty at the top and tight at the ankles.

  14. Sabrine says:

She is beautiful but unfortunately her dress doesn’t fit her properly. The lace top is sliding off her shoulder in one photo and folding over in the next. Under the bustline (third photo) it is not fitted properly. You can see bunching and puckering. It is really unforgivable that she couldn’t have been fitted properly for her special day.

  15. serena says:

She is gorgeous. I think the dress is perfect and ‘royal’ enough.

  16. poppy says:

    she looks lovely.
i don’t understand how you can make a dress for someone, knowing it will be seen by millions and millions of people, and not insist on the most visible part fitting correctly.
    NO
i’m glad she wasn’t bothered by the lace falling all over the place.
valentino has totally gone down the toilet.

  17. Maria says:

She looks every inch the bride and so happy. Nice to see him laugh and show some love to his newly wedded wife. Always seemed so stiff in other pictures.

  18. Ag says:

She looks absolutely stunning and crazy happy. Mazeltov.

  19. Dirty Martini says:

I agree the fit isn’t perfect (surprising).
But otherwise, she’s beautiful, stunning, and beams happiness.

  20. hadleyb says:

He looks like he adores her, she looks like she’s happy to be married.

In the kissing pic, her body language is almost like she can’t stand being kissed by him AT ALL.

    • marmitebaby says:

Body language speaks a thousand words! He absolutely besotted with her, she looks like she is just tolerating his adoration, does not bode well. She does not look him in the eye at any point. In every shot he is having to pull her towards him while she lets him kiss her cheek, while the ‘full on’ kiss says it all, she is rigid and pulling away. I hope I’m wrong and that they will be very happy but body language does not lie

  21. tracking says:

Her face and hair and makeup are exquisite, but she could have worn a more flattering silhouette. Victoria’s dress is much more eye catching and fits like a dream.

  22. Dedrie says:

I was prepared for the besotted groom to burst into a happy dance.. he was so outstandingly happy..

  23. EllenOlenska says:

I was completely convinced he was a total doucheface but when I watched the ceremony yesterday it appeared that he was completely and totally in love with her…he teared up a few times and just was darling to her. Unless he is the ultimate con artist there were way too many tiny moments that you just felt he was madly in love with her…

  24. Amanda says:

She looks pretty. The only thing hat bothers me is that sleeve that keeps falling off her left shoulder. Did she not have proper fittings before the wedding?? Also, that kiss DOES look very awkward! It makes me wonder if she is just marrying this dude to get out of the royal game?? I don’t know why anyone would want that, though! Hmmm, things to ponder…

  25. MrsBPitt says:

She looks beautiful, and the two of them look beyond happy!! Just like newlyweds should!!! As for the kiss, I’m sure the groom is not used to all the attention and was very nervous!! How different from a certain (forced) wedding in Monaco!

  26. TOPgirl says:

    Awww..so pretty! congrats to them!

  27. L says:

I thought she was perfect as a royal spring bride. The dress was light and airy. The flowers beneath her tiara were beautiful. All nearly all royal brides wear sleeves, so I liked how she mixed it up.

As for the kissing-he kissed her hand when she got to the front of the church. Kissed her check after putting on the ring. Kissed her before leaving the church. Kissed her outside. Several times. Kissed before getting on the boat. Seemed like they couldn’t stop kissing. It was touching to see-they seemed crazy about each other.

  28. lower-case deb says:

regarding the bracelet, i read that it was once owned by Princess Lilian who just passed away earlier in the year, whom the Swedish royal kids treated as their grandma (as their real grandma, Princess Sibylla was sadly no longer with them growing up). i think it’s sweet to wear sentimental things like that 🙂

also, Victoria wore Lilian’s tiara and necklace. Lilian had always said that her tiara would go to Victoria, and to wear it is a great tribute for a great figure i think.

Also, according to the Order of Splendor site, we can watch the whole thing again completely
    http://www.svtplay.se/video/1253415/8-6-15-00

  29. Nicolette says:

She looks really pretty, relaxed and happy. She doesn’t give off that stoic, stiff vibe that a lot of royals do.

  30. Itsjustblanche. says:

Love the dress. She looks gorgeous.

  31. Enzo says:

    Very Anna Chlumsky, lol 😁😋

  32. teehee says:

She looks so radiantly happy! I think the shoulder/chest part of the dress is a bit odd, though, otherwise, the rest of the dress is amazing!

  33. Anna says:

I loved the look head to toe. It was very princessy, very Madeleine, but nothing ridiculous or over the top. It was also a very youthful and flattering look on her – a relief, considering she’s picked out quite a few dowdy pieces in the past. I’m glad she didnt go with the cameo tiara – she’d always be compared to Vics in execution, and this way she made the look all her own. The dress will actually stick around in my mind, as I cant think of any famous bridal gown that really resembles it. I particularly like the off-the-shoulder top and the kicky ruffle/valance at the hem.

PS – Doucheface is present as ever. I am sorry to think it but I cannot see this working out. Too bad for such a lovely girl.

PPS – if princesses can’t do better…what hope is there for the rest of humanity?

    • sauvage says:

I thought he had a serious case of doucheface as well, but watching the ceremony on YouTube actually changed my perception of him. He’s just not photogenic (a flaw that I can very much relate to). Seeing him in motion gave me the impression of someone who is MADLY in love with his wife, just not familiar nor comfortable with all the attention and cameras and such. I’m rooting for these two!

      • teehee says:

The protocol must be really difficult. Imagine being suddenly stuffed into a lavish hall with 20 royals on all sides of you– no doubt I would clam up suddenly and it would show, too… he maybe jsut has a hard time relaxing or expressing emotion through his face; other than that, given how happy she looks, I really do wish both of them nothing but the very best in the future!

      • SamiHami says:

Agree! I didn’t like him either, but after watching his reaction as she walked down the aisle I can’t help but like him. You just can’t fake that kind of real, genuine emotion.

  34. Jennifer12 says:

Love the shade her hair is; top of the dress is really pretty, bottom is not.

  35. Talie says:

Swedish royals have the best tiaras and they always wear the glam jewelry unlike the Brits.

  36. bettyrose says:

LOL. She married Chandler and now she’s moving to New York. I’ve seen that sitcom!

  37. A says:

The dress has a 70s vibe that I dig but other than that, no.

  38. Sachi says:

She was gorgeous. The dress is not the best but the combination with the tiara, hair, makeup, and Madde’s smile made the entire look radiant and beautiful.

As for Chris…he has big front teeth and he can look weird when he smiles with his teeth showing. He probably prefers to look serious most of the time if he’s conscious about his teeth.

Anyway, it was a lovely wedding and both bride and groom looked in love and happy. Loved the Chris’s fist pump outside the Church when they kissed. 😀

I honestly think they’re going to last. Chris doesn’t strike me as a douche at all. He seems serious but also grown up and mature. Madde seems very in love with him and after Jonas’s cheating, she deserves a good man.

  39. Mew says:

Waiting for the s… hit the fan with this relationship. I give it 2 years. Prove me wrong Maddy.

  40. Isabelle says:

At least she’s not wearing strapless and like the simplicity of the dress. Strapless gowns all look the same to me, so over that trend. She looks beautiful.

  41. Emily C. says:

The kiss looks like an actual really-truly wedding kiss. They are always, always “awkward” and weird and uncomfortable. Smooching in front of your friends and family and a civil servant or religious leader is not normally the most graceful thing in the world. For this couple, add all the ceremony and picture-taking and GAH. I’d have eloped.

  42. anonymoose says:

Picture perfect (except where the dress slips down her shoulder but still so lovely)!

  43. Lucy2 says:

She looks beautiful. The dress kind of feels a bit dated to me, but it’s not terrible.

  44. Victory says:

I think the wedding and bride were beautiful. I usually don’t like Princess Madeleine very much since it feels like she doesn’t care for Sweden much at all. What with moving to New York and staying there with her new family.

However, she looked stunning yesterday and I wish her all the best with Christopher.

  45. Patrice says:

I’m 100% with Kaiser concerning the unflattering fit, cut & details of this wedding dress. Madeleine is without a doubt one of the most beautiful girls around, but aside from her gorgeous hair styling, jewelry & makeup, the rest of her wedding look did nothing to showcase that 🙁

It is a HUGE deal for a high-ranking royal to eschew all the money, freebies, rank, and privilege that come along with their birth titles (see Prince Edward’s adbication as well as the ongoing Harry & Chelsie Davy saga) so I’m really hoping that Maddy had her family’s full support in doing this and was 1000% sure about her choice in favor of living a fully “common” life before she made it. Judging from the elaborate, offical royal wedding, it would seem that she does & has 😀

P.S. I know a lot of ppl have been giving her hubby a ton of flack for some reason but I don’t at all understand why. I think it speaks volumes about his character that he flat out refused any of Madeleine’s money or taking any rightful titles of his own. Seems to me both of them-just as with her sister Victoria’s seemigly lovely/loving marriage-entirely went into this for love.

    • Ann says:

Madeleine has not abdicated and is not giving up on any of her royal privilegies or money, she is still a Princess. She’s basically eating the cake and keeping it, living off the royal system (ie the taxes of Swedish “commoners”), while moving to NYC to be free of almost all royal obligations.

Regarding Chris’ giving up on Maddy’s money and the Prince title etc, this is because he wants to keep running his highly profitable risk capitalist business. Any person that takes on a royal title in Sweden (everywhere perhaps?) is not allowed to keep running their own businesses, as for instance Prince Daniel who had to give up is gym business when he married Victoria. Or former Princess Märtha Louise of Norway who gave up her royal title because she wanted to run her own business.

She/they are not going to live a “common” life. To me these two are part of an international jet set, two spoiled multi-millonaire one-percenter brats, not giving a crap about anything outside their self-entitled little bubble.

      Greetings from Stockholm

      • Lana says:

Well at least the most European royalty are in the spotlight and you are free to say bad stuff about them. I’m from Malaysia and there are 9 !!!royal families from each state and we hear nothing about them. Not even charity work. They live and work in UK and create scandals in other countries. Example, a royal family member crashed a wedding and attacked guests with golf clubs and sharp objects!!! And I just heard about it through the Internet . Its not even reported in any local news oaper. Btw, this occurred in 2005.

      • TG says:

@ann – you really know how to kill a fantasy. Please don’t ruin my American fantasy about European prince and princesses. All kidding aside I think she looks beautiful and he looks cute to me. He looks like Cousin Matthew from Downton Abby. Her dress is ill fitting and I don’t like it. They do look to be in love but that last pic is worrying because it looks like he is leaning away from her exactly how JLo and Chris Judd posed together in their marriage photo and we know how long that lasted.

    • Ann says:

Sorry to ruin your fantasy TG 🙂 I hardly ever post here (but read lots!), but I just couldn’t resist now, since this wedding has inundated the Swedish press and the city of Stockholm for days. They even took our normal city buses away to dedicate them to “the royal wedding”. Very hard for me to stay in the fantasy then 🙂 That said, I was much more into the dream when Victoria & Daniel married in 2010, it’s also that I really don’t like Chris & Maddy (their public persons that is).

      • Hipocricy says:

I totally get you but i think there are worse cases of royal family misbehaving/mismanagement than the sweedish one…I mean Monaco and its scandals have been going on for generations and they are the oldest european royals reigning.

The Spanish house isn’t looking good these days because of el rey Juan Carlos scandalous spendings in a country where crisis is at its highest level and now because of his son in law and daughter suspicious in that financial scandal where public funds were used.

In the UK, all personal properties whose only owner die without inheritance fall back to the queen’s properties. Every year she is becoming millions richer from those properties.
To me it looks like an old feudal system kinda management.

In Belgium, there are also some of these financial cases with some members of the Royal family like queen Fabiola and her dubious financial plan for tax evasion. The government asks for accountability, transparency and has already reduced yearly royal allowances of many of its members.

    • Ann says:

Interesting read Hipocrisy! I’m sure there are plenty “worse”, but I guess we all compare within our own context too. The examples you bring up are horrendous though.

  46. Katherine says:

LOVELY. Anything more would have been too much.

  47. Queenfreddie says:

She looks beautiful and I don’t think the kiss was awkward at all. These two really love each other. I wish them the best. My only gripe would be I had hoped she would wear a differnt tiara. She wears this one all the time and I wanted to see something new. It was her day and she did it her way.

  48. Maritza says:

She looks gorgeous! At first I thought she was Lucero the famous Mexican singer and actress.

  49. The Original Mia says:

I loved her dress. Was it underwhelming? Yeah, but that’s what made it beautiful. The lace & detailing was gorgeous. Best of all, Maddy & Chris looked absolutely besotted with each other.

  50. claire says:

I saw these pics on DM yesterday and was blown away by how beautiful she looked. I see upthread people mentioning the bad fit of the dress – I didn’t even notice! She looks gorgeous! I was shocked though to read that she was 30 in the DM article. I would have pegged her at 40 for sure.

  51. jes_sayin says:

SHE looks beautiful… but the dress is just like Kate’s, total “meh”.

All I know is, if I had Valentino, Versace, etc., at my beckoned call, I could do WAAAAAY better.

  52. Kate says:

The dress is great because you don’t notice it as much as you notice her and how stunning she is. That’s what a good dress really should do, right?

  53. Shelly says:

I think she looks lovely. I hate to criticize any woman’s choice of wedding gown, as a wedding is a very personal thing.

  54. Sarah says:

He looks like something that crawled out of a haunted swamp.

  55. Apsutter says:

I don’t care for the dress but she looks gorgeous!!! Great hair & makeup and she looks very happy. What a beauty!

  56. moja31 says:

The dress looked better in the sketches, honestly nothing about it screams master couturier, it could easily have been made by a Swedish designer(which would have been nice given that she’s already pretty detached from her country).
Her hair and earrings are perfect, though I wish she’d gone with the traditional Cameo Tiara and family veil, rather than the tiara she wears for pretty much every occasion, though given her position I understand why she didn’t.

  57. CC says:

I like this more than Waity’s dress, but I’m not a huge fan of white/beige/whatever (bland white-sih colors). so, I’m not a good judge. Then again, maybe it was Waity’s orange skin that ticked me off. Who knows?

  58. Amy says:

I think the reason I am not 100% crazy about this dress is the dust ruffle at the bottom. It looks like one of those dust ruffle things you put on a mattress support for a bed. However I love the top part and the cap lace sleeves. Also I am never a fan of floor length veils. One of the reasons I loved Kate Middleton’s veil so much was that it did not reach the floor and did not overwhelm her.

I also never thought Madeleine’s husband to be was particularly handsome but she always seemed happy with him. In these pictures the guy looks like he is bursting with happiness and smiling in every picture–he looks pretty good looking here! He usually has a sour/no smile expression but he may be really shy/not like the attention he gets by being with Madeleine.

    I wish them both well!

  59. Malificent says:

The dress looks entirely ordinary, and it’s not nearly as stunning as Victoria’s dress. But Madeleine looks lovely and happy. And I’m sure that the dress wasn’t foisted on her — so if she’s wearing her dream wedding dress, then yay for her.

Madeleine has always had what could be termed Princess Barbie or Prom Queen taste in evening clothes, she always looks good but has a definite style that boarders on Disney Princess sometimes. I like the whole wedding look (above the knee line) but the frilly edge to the gown is just that step too far that tips it into Barbie territory

Who cares about these people? Why are we reporting about various Princes and Princesses?

  62. angelique says:

She looks gorgeous. Victoria is Crown Princess, not Madde, so I think it’s ok for her to wear a less formal gown than her sister wore.

I think she looks beautiful. It may not be my style preference, but she looks great in it.

I don’t even know who these people are but i watched the link of their wedding and it was beautiful! Love the gown, she looked radiant, his face when he saw her! Oh, perfection, doesn’t every girl want this reaction?

She looks beautiful, and he seems like a nice guy. He can’t help it if he looks awkward.

  66. MyLittlePony says:

Certainly a love match, though I was suspicious about the groom at first (kind of old and grim looking), but after watching the wedding broadcast, my doubts vanished like smoke in the air. As to the dress, I like the 80s vibe, and this could start a new trend I think. Maddy is simply stunning so anything more revealing or figure flattering would have rendered the priests speechless I suppose, so the gown was a very well balanced choice I think.
    Tee-hee 😀

Omg can anyone believe that I moved to Stockholm his weekend and SLEPT THROUGH THIS!!! Jet lag!! On topic, that guy has douche written all over his face.

They look really happy together in these pics. More so than in any other pics I’ve seen of them before.

I’m not crazy about that dress. I don’t like lace anyway, so there are very few lace dresses that impress me. Grace Kelly’s dress an exception, hers was one of the all-time great wedding gowns.

And Kate Middleton’s just looked like a cheap knock-off of Grace’s dress — the kind of knock-off you can buy at a store. Also, while I know Kate was trying to copy Grace, it actually looked a lot like Lea Salonga’s gown from 2004, which I think was by Monique Lhuillier.

My all-time favorite is still Victoria’s in 2010. She nailed the look of a future queen. http://orderofsplendor.blogspot.com/2010/06/crown-princess-victorias-wedding-dress.html

A princess and beautiful at the same time, wow!! It’s like watching a Disney movie except the prince is not a prince. But that’s ok too.
