Do people really have strong feelings one way or the other about Fergie or Josh Duhamel? They seem pretty harmless, not really tabloidy, yet famous enough for People magazine to be breathless about their union. Apparently, I’m out of touch, and people really care about them, and care that they got married.
It sounds like it was a really nice, somewhat conservative wedding. The wedding took place at the Church Estates Vineyards in Malibu. Since it’s Malibu, I guess that means it was ocean-front, though this People article didn’t have those details. Is it weird that I only care about the scenery and the food? Anyway, there’s no mention of what they ate. They didn’t even release info about the cake!
In a white fantasy wedding, Fergie and Josh Duhamel were married Saturday under magnolia trees filled with thousands of white roses, PEOPLE confirms.
The Black Eyed Peas singer, 33, wearing a Dolce & Gabbana gown, and the actor, 36, tied the knot at the Church Estates Vineyards in Malibu.
Fergie carried a bouquet of white flowers studded with crystals as the couple exchanged H. Stern rings engraved with personal messages. Ten bridesmaids were dressed in contrasting black.
Fergie’s specially-designed engagement ring featured a 4-carat brilliant cut diamond set amid other diamonds. A narrowed diamond wedding band completed the set. Duhamel’s ring was made of white gold with a brushed finish.
The ceremony was followed by a reception in a tent decorated as a forest of trees, with the ceiling covered in lights.
Among the invited guests were new parents Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell, Mario Lopez, Stacy Keibler, Kid Rock, Slash, Kate Hudson (Fergie’s costar in her upcoming movie Nine), the members of Black Eyed Peas including will.i.am, and Duhamel’s Las Vegas costars James Caan, Molly Sims and Vanessa Marcil.
Also expected were Duhamel’s family, who flew in from his home state North Dakota. “His family are so excited,” says a friend of the couple. “They really love Fergie and are so happy to welcome her to the family.”
Fergie, aka Stacey Ferguson, who has been working out to prepare for her wedding, “has lost all the weight,” says a source. “She looked amazing.”
The wedding week kicked off Wednesday night with a joint bachelor-bachelorette party at the newly opened Dakota Lounge in Santa Monica, followed by a Hawaiian-themed rehearsal dinner on Friday.
“Josh is a great guy,” says Mario Lopez, who shared his first kiss with Fergie as kids and later became close friends with the singer. “They will be great together.”
“Hawaiian-themed” rehearsal dinner? Will somebody talk about the food, for the love of God? Hawaiian means lots of fish, right? But it sounds like they got a pretty good turnout for their nuptials, a nice mingling of family and famous friends. No scandals, no gratuitous drunken speeches, no fights, just a nice, average wedding. A little boring? A little “meh”? Oh, well. They’re happy. I give it two years. Many congratulations to the happy couple.

She is always referred to as “Leatherface” in our house. Kids Incorporated or not, I can’t stand her.

I feel kind of sorry for Fergie sometimes. She may not be the greatest singer and had an unfortunate peeing incident on stage but she always seems kind of sweet. My friends in showbiz said she was always nice and down to earth.
Anyway, congrats to the couple. -

But she’ll always have the last laugh because she has the life she wants and is married to the man she loves.
@ Jenna and Kerri: If you had a friend who had a drug past and whose face might not be to your liking, would the terms “Methface” and “Leatherface” be something you might call them as well? Just wondering.

She may not be the most gorgeous person alive but she seems like she’s reasonably nice. I like that she’s been honest about her drug history and I really like how not tabloid-y they are. I hope they prove you wrong Kaiser and stick it out for the long haul.

I don’t know why every one acts like she’s so hideous. I know she’s not a beauty, but I think she’s quite pretty and has an interesting face, unlike so many other cookie-cutter stars out there.

I’m neither for nor against them, as individuals or as a couple. If they’re happy, that’s fine.
FYI, I don’t know the exact location of the vineyards, but if they’re vineyards, they’re probably in the Malibu highlands and not oceanfront. It’s gorgeous back there, just in a completely different way.

Wrong. If it was really “Hawaiian themed” there would be no spam. Lau-lau, kalua pig, poke’, lomi salmon, squid luau, haupia, etc. God, so many misconceptions about Hawaii it’s ridiculous. They proably just had some kid of buffet theme going on. Maybe some tiki torches in the background. Lame.

I lived in Hawaii for five years, and every Hawaiian themed event I went to served spam, so yes that is correct.
