Jennifer Lopez got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday. These are some photos from the event. J.Lo was being honored for her music career (she’s sold more than 70 million albums) rather than her film career, although she had friends from Hollywood and from the music industry in attendance. You know what I love? Keenan Ivory Wayans was there to honor the former Fly Girl!! Isn’t that sweet? I loved that J.Lo got her start on In Living Color as a Fly Girl and that she doesn’t mind being reminded of it on her big day. Jane Fonda was also there to honor Jennifer, as was Pitbull, her manager Benny Medina and her boyfriend Casper Smart (gross).
Jennifer wore Christian Dior for her big day – RFCA says it’s a pre-fall 2013 look, with a cashmere & silk knit top and a coral hoop skirt. It’s pretty diva-ish and it fits with what we already think about J.Lo. I don’t really have a problem with her wearing a de facto ball gown to a day-time Walk of Fame ceremony (Classic J.Lo), but I do have an issue with how much her skirt wrinkles at the slightest provocation. That is what makes it a bad choice!

Why is her daughter wearing Gucci mary janes? Superficial, I know, but that’s what stuck out most to me.

Yeah, they looked annoyed; maybe it was a combination of being in the sun for a long time, for a very boring ceremony, in very uncomfortable (for a kid) clothes, with lots of photogs taking pictures. And it was probably kinda loud, too.
Might I had, at least the boy seemed to have some life! The girl looked asleep.

This is what kills me, I actually like Jennifer even though she’s not a great actress and her songs aren’t life altering she’s really entertaining, but her personal life and choice in men kill everything good about her. Casper is sooo freaking nasty I want to puke when I look at him
I’ll admit to a fondness for J-Lo and her booty and lovely face but Jaysus! She has the most piss-poor taste in men I have ever seen. First Johnny Depp’s Ghost ( Marc A) and now this dude. She’s loaded and hot, surely she can do better all round than this?!

I don’t like her shoe choice, but this is very diva and very her, without being second skin kind of tight and/or see through. Anytime there is a lack of illusion netting, I’m halfway to liking something.

I actually like her hair and makeup but that dress(?) is terrible. I just don’t get her fashion sense. She has such a killer body and she is always wearing the wrong things. There are about a million other daytime outfits she could have worn that would have looked a thousand times better than this.
THe dress is awful but I will give her credit for being creative for once in her life and not wearing a body hugging dress. Her son is majorly cute. He got the best features from his parents.
It’s not my favorite color, but it is a vast improvement over what she generally wears.

I just don’t understand why she chose what seems like a “heavy” dress for a seemingly hot day. Am I imagining or can you see a lot of sweat marks in that white top? I know that those things just happen, but she is an experienced professional, she could have certainly afforded something a bit lighter and that wouldn’t show sweat stains.

I can’t help but noticed she’s dyed her hair the same exact colors as her kid’s. it seems a lot of Hollywood moms do that.
All I can see are the pit stains when she’s on the ground, and the sweat marks around the band of the skirt.

Nah, she still uses it. Between the eyes and around them. Not everyone gets their entire forehead immobilized, but the fact that she can stand in the full sun without sunglasses and not frown or squint, tells me all I need to know.
felt she was channeling a Disney princess. A budget Disney princess. WTH it just a star on the sidewalk where peeps spit and piss on.
I think looking at the photos today it’s a bit over the top but she looks old hollywood glamorous and that will show well in photos in years to come marking the day she got her star….and if you’ve never seen the walk of fame, it’s a total dump any other time. final note, that last photo with her and casper is utterly cringeworthy. ruined the whole thing.

Okay, SOMEONE PLEASE tell me who her beauty consultant is for her skin because there’s no way she’s wrinkle free without help. Her skin is flawless, and maybe it’s partially genes but COME ON. She’s in her mid-forties. Someone tell me what she does to look that way!!!
Ya she doing something their were pictures of her a couple of weeks ago and you can see wrinkles on her face in the close ups.
In these close up their are a lot less wrinkles on her face then before. What ever she doing she doing it the way by not going over board.
Laser treatments will help with wrinkles quickly.

Is anyone else wondering how her kids are blonde?
Lots of children have light hair when they are little, because the melanin hasn’t developed yet. They’ll get darker as they get older. My sister was almost white-blonde at their age, but has almost black hair now. My kids and all their cousins were also light-haired when small, but now, all have really dark brown hair.
She’s a beautiful woman and her kids are cute. That being said, I’m not so sure about this gigantic peach skirt. If even J.Lo can’t pull something off you know it might not be the best look lol.

You buy your own star for crying out loud! It means nothing as far as how good of an entertainer you are. From my understanding, the only type of celebrity not allowed to have a star are reality stars (Jersey Shore etc.) Godzilla has one! Oh well, I would probably cry with happiness if I had enough money to burn on something like this too. She’s rich, Bitch!

What’s happening with her hair? The skirt is pretty, but needs to be worn by someone taller. It overwhelms her.
All I can see is a tragic impersonation of the inimitable Marion Cotillard wearing a self-directed version of this dress perfectly and with minimal make-up back in January.

Ok, so fine: she looks good. But totally agree that this was not appropriate for a daytime event! And that parted lips face still drives me insane. She should be proud of herself, absolutely – but there is nothing ‘classy’ about her response to this honor (which she has to pay for, btw!)

I loved that outfit! The color of the skirt is killer, and the simple top helps to bring down the drama of the ball skirt. The hair is a great “movie star” kind of style.

You’re right – you basically buy it. It costs $30K I think. Usually people do it around the time of a movie/album release for the extra PR. Not sure what J Lo has coming out that she’s doing it now.

Gotta say….she’s just never been my favorite…anything! Her performances of late are disastrous. I definitely do not think she comes with much talent, but must talk the talk or have good agents that get her into roles and dance or stage gigs because she’s just bad…looks like marrying Casper might be next? She just can’t hack being single or alone, and I think it’s because she’s basically insecure and has to have someone fawning over her…just sayin.

yeah her face is puffier than normal. she prob got some filler in her face to freshen up for the occasion and her faces is still slightly swollen from it.
The wrinkles and the colour just cheapens the skirt. I do like the design and the volume of the skirt. Marion Cotillard wore this in a dark navy blue colour and it looked much better on her. JLo is trying to capture her former glory back from her heydays at this point in her career. She’s holding onto the remnants of what’s left of her career by signing onto anything that will keep her relevant and maintain the lifestyle she’s accustomed to. If it weren’t for American Idol she would have faded a long time ago. Her kids look bored and fed up. x
