People are postponing weddings all over the place these days. I guess no one wants to get married in 2013? Is the 13th year of the millennium bad luck? Anyway, first Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux postponed their wedding (indefinitely!) and now Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez are telling friends that they have no interest in getting married before their baby is born in October. Us Weekly says that they’re postponing the wedding because Halle’s “fairy tale wedding” dream doesn’t include a baby bump:
Halle Berry and fiancé Olivier Martinez have decided to postpone their summer nuptials.
“Halle wants to give birth to their son and then think about a beautiful wedding,” a Martinez family source says of the couple, who are set to welcome the little one in October. While Berry, 46, is thrilled to be pregnant, says a confidant, “she wouldn’t be comfortable walking down the aisle with a big baby bump showing. For her, that’s not what fairy-tale weddings are all about.”
But the pair do have one plan nailed down: their baby will be born stateside.
“My son will be an American,” Olivier said. “I feel good there.”

What do you think? I’m throwing shade on a 46 year old woman – who is twice divorced, FYI – still wanting a fairy tale wedding. I mean, it’s her life, her decisions, etc, but considering this is her third marriage and considering she’s 45 years old and she’s pregnant, you would think that “fairy tale weddings” would be… I don’t know. Impossible? Impossibly cloying? Besides, I just have my doubts that the wedding will even take place. But you never know – I think Halle found a guy who feeds into her issues perfectly. Halle and Olivier might be perfectly suited for each other.

I agree – The Horseman on the Roof is one of my favourite films and he was so beautiful in it! I always thought he had really promising career but after that film I’m not sure it ever really took off?
He looks like he has lost a lot of weight. The fact that he is a squinter does not help his looks tbqh.

Well when she finally comes out saying he was abusive/sexaddict/cheater/manipulative/womanizer/abuser, etc. I’ll believe her with this one. He skeeves on so many levels.
Yeah, I don’t see this relationship in fairy tale terms…it’s more the stuff of nightmares.
I think Halle looks so good! I don’t see this wedding happening however, but who knows for sure. All I can really say is the kid is really going to be a cutie.

Halle will only marry that violent thug if it becomes necessary in her custody dispute. As I said on the post re Kelly Rutherford they are following the same handbook and it is so obvious to everyone that they are full of crap.
I actually think they suit each other more than Halle + Gabriel.
They are both actors, both 46 and the fact that he accepted Nhala is a good thing…after all, he is the only man she went with as an already mother.
You don’t date the same way a single woman or a woman with children. You have to think about it deeply and accept more involvment in her child’s life.
that’s why i think that both Halle and Olivier may make more effort into this Relationship than they did previously…

While I agree with you completely, I have a hard time giving Halle that much credit. She hasn’t shown herself to have that much character in the past.
I agree with your reasoning about single moms dating but I don’t agree that Halle is a reasonable person. Her boyfriend beat the crap out of the father of her son while he was voluntarily dropping off his daughter on his own visitation time so Halle could have her for Thanskgiving. So no Halle is not dating with her daughter in mind. Never had and never will.
She didn’t procreate either with that child in mind.

Dear Olivier-remember Gabriel Aubrey? Better make sure you get your name on the birth certificate, because this has all the hallmarks of a set up for your dismissal.
Whatever, Halle. If they actually marry, I’ll be surprised.
I want her occupied with her new baby, so she’ll leave Gabriel alone to be a father for his child. Maybe now, Olivier will understand why Gabriel fought so hard for his child and heed the warning signs.
Can’t wait for their drama. Just hope the kids won’t be involved. But seriously, there’s no way that Halle lives a peaceful life from now on…

Hard Hearted Halle is no princess and Losing His Looks Olivier is no prince. When weddings are labeled as “fairy tale” it says that these two people won’t have to put effort into their marriage in order to make it work because they are two perfect individuals and the world owes them exempt status. At least that is what I get from it. No one person can opt out of the commitment and work involved because they have “princess” status probably given to them by an over indulgent father (have you watched those sweet sixteen shows, ugh!). Every time I hear or read some chick claiming princess status and everyone needs to bow down, including their closest loved ones, I want to retch and then smack them wonky for being just that indulgent and ignorant. Do you hear that Beyonce??? NEVER will I ” Bow Down”. And you are a slimy individual for even considering the concept.

Yes we know he used to be attractive, now he looks like an old geezer.
I don’t believe that she will marry him. Because she knows it won’t last forever. And eventually they will split. And then he will have more rights to their child if they will be married. And she knows that she would just want to kick him out of the life of their future child. Like she did with Gabriel.
They aren’t getting married. She’s already proven she is too selfish to share a child with anyone else.
Halle and Olivier will get married and it will be beautiful. Olivier is handsome even now and will make a good father and stepfather. He is obviously a good fighter and will protect his family.
Why Halle would pick that leech Gabriel in the first place is beyond me, he’s violent and attacks people who disagree with him.
