Alec Baldwin deleted his Twitter account after threatening to ‘f— up’ journo

Alec Baldwin

Another day, another tantrum from Alec Baldwin. Of course, I couldn’t resist illustrating this story with photos from Cannes that show Alec hoisting his pregnant wife, Hilaria, into the air while they made out for the photogs who were about ten feet (or less) away. So weird.

Alec Baldwin

But yes, the tantrum monster has struck again, and this time, it started after a journalist (who doesn’t understand how Twitter works) from the Mail wrote an ill-advised story about how Hilaria supposedly tweeted during James Gandolfini’s funeral service. It must be noted that Hilaria was not funeral-tweeting, and I explain that part at the bottom of this post. The story was clearly erroneous and should have never been written in the first place, but naturally, Alec had to step in and say a thing or two or six about what he really thinks. Then he deleted his entire Twitter account, but not before Gawker grabbed a screenshot of the entire mess. Here are Alec’s relevant tweets in text format:

Someone wrote that my wife was tweeting at a funeral. Hey. That’s not true. But I’m gonna tweet at your funeral. — ABFoundation (@ABFalecbaldwin) June 27, 2013

George Stark, you lying little bitch. I am gonna f— you up. http://t.co/eoHfGGjD46 — ABFoundation (@ABFalecbaldwin) June 28, 2013

I want all of my followers and beyond to straighten out this f—ing little bitch, George Stark. @MailOnline http://t.co/eoHfGGjD46 — ABFoundation (@ABFalecbaldwin) June 28, 2013

My wife and I attend a funeral to pay our respects to an old friend, and some toxic Brit writes this f—ing trash http://t.co/eoHfGGjD46 — ABFoundation (@ABFalecbaldwin) June 28, 2013

If put my foot up your f—ing ass, George Stark, but I’m sure you’d dig it too much http://t.co/eoHfGGjD46 — ABFoundation (@ABFalecbaldwin) June 28, 2013

I’m gonna find you, George Stark, you toxic little queen, and I’m gonna f—…you…up. http://t.co/eoHfGGjD46 – ABFoundation (@ABFalecbaldwin) June 28, 2013

[From Alec Baldwin’s defunct Twitter]

Man. Alec is so tightly wound — he’s like Cameron Frye in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off with the lump of coal that turns into diamond. Most of the people who read Stark’s story at the Mail would realize that it’s bogus and just forget about it, but Alec had to make a grand affair out of the situation. He could have simply tweeted a denial without profanity, but I guess then we wouldn’t be talking about Alec.

Meanwhile, Hilaria took to her own Twitter page to calmly explain the situation. She was not tweeting during Gandofini’s funeral at all but merely (later) retweeted someone else (Rachael Ray, who was not in attendance) who wrote something while the funeral was taking place. Enough said.

Those pictures are a serious cheese-fest. I have to say I thought the tweeting story could be true when I first heard about it, but glad it’s not. I can’t imagine how awful it must be to be married to AB, but she clearly knew what she was doing.

    • Hoya_chick says:

My friend knows her and she is definitely a gold digging gold digger who is just putting in the time, getting the security of a baby out of the whole deal, and then she’s out of there. She pretends like she is some Spanish expat with fake accent and all, to seem exotic but she is really from Long Island. Lol. That’s what he told me anyway. He is a rage monster and I don’t feel sorry for her. She knew who she was marrying. The pics are so barfy. He deletes his twitter after every douche tirade. Means nothing. He needs some serious anger management.

      • Kiddo says:

I’m not defending her, but how would he know that? Did she tell him, or did she pull this on someone else? I’m just really curious.

    • Sabrine says:

Alec looks like he’s piling on the beef again. Time to hit the gym and cut back on the food portions.

    • @bedhead says:

How do you know she wasn’t tweeting during the funeral? Did you actually see the tweets and timeline? This is what, the billionth time Alec Baldwin has used either racial or homophobic slurs. Why isn’t Alec being hung and crucified like Paula Deen?

    • Me Three says:

I’m sorry but I believe Hilaria (pronounced eelaria btw) was tweeting at the funeral. This woman has taken fame wh@ring to new heights and turned Alec into a laughing stock, which is not that difficult based on his own PR issues. She’s using her new found “fame” to start a celeb style career and in two years she’ll dump him and have her own fitness show or club or DVDs or all of the above with a hefty alimony from her present sugar daddy.

Sorry but funeral tweeting is right up her alley.

  2. lisa says:

    maybe he needs another show

some people cant handle spare time productively

  3. ncboudicca says:

I prefer to remember Alec standing naked in the shower in Hunt for Red October and not think about the real-life rage monster that he apparently is. Oy.

    • rose says:

Haha, i prefer to remember him as ‘Snake’ in Working Girl…who, by the way, i think Scott Disick models himself on without doubt

      • stinky says:

ooooh, my favorite scene when Melanie calls out the ‘snake’ !
she was enviously cool as a cucumber… yes i remember it well.

      • Nicolette says:

Haha, you’re right Scott does resemble that character! Alec has been around so long you almost forget some of the great movies he’s done. Loved him in ‘Beetlejuice’ too. He used to look soooo good. Now meh, not so much. He’s still really funny on film but in life just seems like a mega douche.

    • Becky1 says:

Yes! He used to be so fricking hot. As a young man he was gorgeous-hairy but gorgeous LOL. I had a huge crush on him when I was in high school.

He’s a great comedic actor but seems to be a really unpleasant person. In addition to all of his tirades, I lost a lot of respect for him when in his mid 50’s he chose to marry a woman in her late 20’s. I won’t feel sorry for him at all if she ends up leaving him. These wealthy older men are delusional if they think these young, hot women aren’t with them because of the money. I doubt Hilaria would have looked twice at Alec if he were a teacher or a cop.

  4. Anne says:

I do believe she WAS tweeting live during Mr. Gandolfini’s funeral. Alec knows she was caught and of course his answer to the truth is to fly off the handle. you say at the end of your article she says she wasn’t so enough said. what? that proves nothing!

    • gogoGorilla says:

I was wondering about that. I read that there was back and forth tweeting time stamped during the funeral. But I don’t use Twitter so I’m not sure how that might work.

    • emmie_a says:

Yeah I don’t use twitter but the time stamps on Hillaria’s tweets look like they were sent during the funeral.

Personally I think these two belong together. I saw her on Rachael Ray’s show and she seems super annoying. And what does she even do? I didn’t understand why she was on Rachael’s show talking about what to bring to the beach. A fame whore who married a rageaholic. Perfect.

      • Annie says:

She used to be a yoga instructor and now Alec is helping her fake a career as a “tv host”. The jobs he’s been getting her, man. When more deserving and prepared people were lining up for them.

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

Not defending her but I’m pretty sure they proved that it was 3 hours later when she was tweeting. She sucks but I doubt even she is crass enough to do that.

    • Agnetha says:

This story did nothing to convince that Hilaria wasn’t tweeting during the funeral. Other sites have the times that she was tweeting and it looks like it was during the funeral to me. Totally disrespectful. Her and Alec are a match made in heaven.

      • Kiddo says:

I thought they said that she left the funeral early because she felt faint. I understand tweeting is a cure for faintness, so that explains everything.

So what’s worse, tweeting about materialist things during someone’s funeral, or ranting homophobic slurs with threats?

No matter, they make a perfect couple.

      • Alec is a homophobe says:

Why do so many people defend him when he has made both homophobic and racial slurs many many times? Did I mention he has done it about 10 times? Why isn’t he hung out to dry like Paula Deen? I’ll bet she was tweeting.

  5. poppy says:

deleting his account is probably for the best.

hard to believe he would hashtag his foundation on those tweets or use that account to threaten someone.
is it a one board member only (AB) kind of foundation?

the crazy is strong in this one.

    • EscapedConvent says:

I wish I were a betting man, cause I’d wager Alec will be back on Twitter within the week. I don’t think he can stay away; it seems like a compulsion.

At least he’s gone back on after every other episode when he has deleted his account….

      • Kiddo says:

He’ll be right back as soon as something else pisses him off. Which shouldn’t take long, lol.

    • bluhare says:

He’s deleted it before (airline mobile phone incident).

  6. EscapedConvent says:

Alec, Alec, Alec—could you not have stopped after your first tweet? That makes your point, & it was funny.

    And then……

I can’t count the times I’ve heard of him deleting his twitter account after each episode of putting his foot in his mouth.

Must make the point that I love Alec, & always have. But how tedious & embarrassing it would be to be married to someone who goes off so often, so loudly & at so many small things. I wish he wold simmah down before he gives himself a heart attack.

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

I love him too but his anger issues are so off-putting.

Totally agree that he should have quit while he was ahead.

      *sigh*

    • Liz says:

I am sure we only know about 1% of the number of times he has gone off on either homophobic or racial rant. If he can call his own daughter a pig he is a jerk. I find him to be a far worse person than Paula Deen. Why he keeps getting a pass is beyond my comprehension!

    • Mitch Buchanan Rocks! says:

I wonder if AB has ever taken up smoking – not a habit that’s usuallly encouraged but in his case it might help.

  7. Lucy2 says:

I loved him so much on 30 Rock, but of screen he needs serious help- especially with a baby on the way.

All he had to do was say it was not true and that it was hurtful of the paper to say that it was. The timeline of her account would easily prove that, and everyone could move on.

  8. Nikollet says:

It’s the homophobic language he has used that really gets me. Clearly he is angry and wants to defend his wife, which is understandable and in the heat of the moment you can forgive some profanity, but the homophobic comments are gross.

    • mata says:

I’ve noticed that, too. In every attack on someone, he seems to go for words like “queen.” Considering the bisexual rumors that have circulated around him for years, you have to wonder what that’s about.

    • Esti says:

Yuuuup. It’s tacky but understandable to get pissed and swear about the DM story (if it is in fact untrue, which I’m not convinced is the case — there were more tweets time-stamped during the funeral than the retweet of Rachel Ray). But it’s NOT OKAY to express your anger by using slurs. Just like it wasn’t okay for Paula Deen.

  9. Kate says:

Gawker must have an employee whose sole purpose is to get screenshots of celebrities’ twitter accounts before they come to their senses and delete the tweets.

    • DreamyK says:

I know, right? Someone has to catch these screen grabs before they are quickly deleted.

For the record, she admits she was using her Twitter account at the funeral. Tacky.

Someone upstream said she was a known gold digger? Good luck trying to dig that gold out of AB, baby or not.

As much as AB is a rage monster, I give him some slack because it’s obvious he is totally in love with his wife and very protective of her.

    • Bijlee says:

As much as people would like to believe so I don’t think there’s any way to delete things off the internet. Either celebrities do this on purpose for publicity. Or there’s recovery programs where you can recover deleted tweets from users. It just seems impossible to me.

I think even twitter stores it somewhere and that it just takes years for that deleted tweet to ever truly disappear. I once had a professor in college tell me you can try to delete a file off your computer but it’s never going to be truly deleted. The only way you can make it disappear is if you overwrite it with a different file. I imagine it works similarly on the internet, but I honestly can’t be sure. I love that there is all this data for us to analyze in the future if we one day have the technology. But it’s equal parts frightening and invasive too.

I think there are recovery systems whose sole purpose is to store ANY and ALL tweets in some sort of server. If you use it, then you can find out which tweets were deleted by the person you follow once you hook them up to those servers. That’s more than likely how Gawker does it. They use that recovery system for tweets.

  10. marie says:

Yeah, Cameron was tightly wound but he wasn’t violent like Sausage Fingers Baldwin. He needs some anger management and probably a xanax cause he’s going to cause himself to have a heart attack.

  11. hadleyb says:

Twitter has time stamp and she retweeted after her first tweet so I think shes lying.

I mean yes, funerals are boring. But don’t go if you can’t handle it, suck it up and be adult about it. I mean they are not teens who grew up with social media/ cell phone so put the effin phone away.

    Not hard.

  12. Adrien says:

    Hilaria ensues.

  13. Elle says:

I hate that some of my favourite tv comedy actors are horrors in real life? Alec, Kelsey Grammar, Michael Richards…..

Steve Carell don’t let me down!

    • lucy2 says:

I know, I would be heartbroken if Carell ever turns out to be a monster, I have sincere fondness for him. I’ve never heard anything but wonderful things about him though, and his wife is awesome, so hopefully all stays good there.

    • KayMary says:

Carrell is a notoriously nice guy. Its even a hollywood insider joke. I forget the movie but theres a scene where Carrell cameos as himself and one of the film characters pisses him off. The gag is that the character must be a mega douche because Steve Carrell never gets angry.

And yeah, his marriage is adorable. They got together when he was still just teaching improv. Ok, now I am worried that hes too good to be true. Scandal ahead……

  14. Mrs. Darcy says:

It’s kind of hilarious because he always tries to act like he’s mellowed out now, if you watch the Riding in Cars he did with Seinfeld, the whole time he is trying to sell how chilled and zen he is to Jerry, all the while b~tching at the waitress and being finicky about his sandwich order. I can’t hate on him, well he is a nightmare to live with I’m sure but he is hilarious.I don’t endorse his homophobic slurs at all, but I think the man has no filter, look at the filth he spewed at his daughter. I think once his faucet blows that’s it, it’s unencumbered fury and he really should stay away from Twitter.

Especially as he should know the Daily Mail is like a step above the Enquirer, total waste of his fury. They made him look like a putz with their b.s. story, wouldn’t be surprised if it was their intention, so they won.

  15. Ramblingirl says:

Wonder if all of his sponsors will drop him and shun him ala Paula Deen. What he said is ugly and it’s not the first time.

    • evyn says:

Considering Alec Baldwin has always been a volatile, abusive a**hole, I seriously doubt it. I’m pretty sure he got that Capital One deal AFTER he called his daughter a rude pig.

      • stinky says:

(teenagers are rude pigs tho … )
        (come on)

      • bluhare says:

Alec Baldwin calling anyone a rude pig is just, well, funny.

      • KayMary says:

What kind of abusive parent calls his kid an animal?? You criticise Behaviour and you chose your moment. This is not rocket science!

I always thought that “pig” unsult was some kind of digg at her weight. Now that we know Alec, its quite likely.

Also she wasnt a teenager. She was eleven years old.

      • Liza Jane says:

I thought his rant at his daughter was very mild! Maybe I’m the wrong generation but honestly, there is nothing worse than a teenage girl talking back! I used to get totally infuriated at my 3 ( almost 30 years ago) and use stronge language a times! They certainly were little pigs! All are great, married moms now and great friends too!
He obviously always peaks before he thinks and gets very worked up, stupid when he is in the right to be annoyed but comes off as a jerk by what he says!! I like him though and am sorry if his love for Hilaria is misplaced and she is just using him!

      • anon33 says:

I am so envious of people who have parents that never called them a bad word/name in the heat of the moment. My mom has called me everything from a b8tch to a c8nt to a loser to a wh8re when we fight…”thoughtless little pig” is mild IMO.

      • Bijlee says:

Meh. My mom cursed at me horribly in our native language. Never going as far as slut or whore or anything, because THOSE are awful curses. But she called me a jackass plenty of times and a fat cow albeit lovingly. I think pig is pretty mild and something my mother would use, as well as daughter of an owl (yeah owls aren’t held in the highest regard in India and calling someone an owl is offensive). It was just oh she’s mad. Looking back I’m surprised she didn’t get madder often. We were right aholes.

Maybe it’s because I grew up bilingual and predominantly speaking English but it didn’t bother me. There are some awful curses in my native tongue I would NEVER say because they are just awful. But the english equivalent I can say. I don’t know why. We didn’t turn out damaged though.

It depends on the parents. My mother was not an abusive parent. She clearly loved her children and made a million sacrifices for us. It’s just when we f**ked up we got an earful (me most deservedly).

      • @Lisa Jane says:

So it is ok that Alec called his 11 year old daughter a pig because you also used to call your daughter’s names? You say they are now mothers themselves. Well you know what? History and generations repeat themselves. Your daughters are probably calling their children names because you did it to them. Some people are terrible parents.

  16. crtb says:

He must be very insecure. Because secure people would let BS role off their backs. They don’t feel the need to respond to every minor things said to or about them. The people who were at the funeral would know that this story wasn’t true. They are the only people whose opinions matter. So I think it must be true and he is embarrassed by his wife’s inappropriate behavior.

  17. Nanz says:

    1. When will Alec Baldein stopped being rewarded with paid endorsements and acting work and be called out for the homophobic, racist, sexist rage monster he is?

    2. When did it become OK to be on your phone for any reason during a funeral?

  18. LahdidahBaby says:

He has an awful mouth. Looks like a mummified vagina.

    My apologies to vaginas everywhere.

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

You almost got me fired. I seriously just guffawed in the most obnoxious manner.

      • LahdidahBaby says:

Ahahaha, kitten dear, sorry! But if you had no food in yr mouth at the time, I think your job is safe. But if you were snacking surreptitiously at the time, I just pray it wasn’t Cheetos.

    • marie says:

HA, that’s the funniest thing I’ve read all week!

    • Suze says:

HA! Although I never thought about it before you are so so right!

  19. Suze says:

Oh, Alex you ragey monster. You pretend like you’ve grown and mellowed and you are really the same hate-spewing fruitcake on a hair trigger that you’ve always been.

    Immensely talented, though!

As an aside, their relationship is so uncomfortable to watch.

  20. Paloma says:

He is such a head case, and that naive woman he’s married to still doesn’t get it, and will be shocked when he starts to turn that anger towards her some day.

    • bluhare says:

She might be a few things, but I don’t think naïve is one of them.

    • Becky1 says:

I don’t think she’s naive. I get the feeling she knew what she was getting into and decided Alec’s money, fame and connections were worth the trade off.

      • Liz says:

I am sure she is not immune to his anger management issues. He treated his ex wife horrible. I don’t give the gold digger and the homophobe anger monster 5 years…tops!

  21. GeeMoney says:

Every time he does something silly like cuss out a photographer or someone and then delete his Twitter account, the more he makes Kim Basinger look like a saint. I thought she was the unstable one, but I guess I was wrong.

  22. scylla says:

I think he also did a gay slur with this “queen” stuff.
Also: if I was the journalist I would sue him because this tweets could be interpreted that AB asked his fans to off him.

  23. Garvels says:

I think she did tweet during the funeral….why the over reaction by both of them if they can easily prove it was not true? With Baldwin’s connections he could easily destroy the reporter with the evidence.

  24. stinky says:

She wore the same hooker heels to Cannes & the funeral.

  25. lovegossip says:

I don’t get it. He isn’t THAT good of an actor, but he seems to be able to do this shit over and over again and no one ever “boycotts” anything he does or promotes. What am I missing? If he was a great actor, maybe… (I wouldn’t be able to ignore some of the things he has done, but Hollywood seems to be able to with certain people) but he keeps chugging along. Bad acting and not even good looking. Someone enlighten me, please? 🙁

    • Becky1 says:

He’s actually a really good comedic actor with a lot of charisma. I think he’s a horrible ass, but he’s talented and has been around for a long time.

Back in the late 80’s and early to mid 1990’s he was very handsome and had a number of “leading man” roles. He wasn’t particularly good as a dramatic actor, though.

    • Tammy says:

You’re kidding lovegossip, right? He’s a great actor and was super hot 20 years ago. All of the Baldwin guys are either insane or rageaholics , it’s either genetic or how they were raised or both.

      • lovegossip says:

No I’m not kidding. I don’t think he is a horrible actor, like I said I just don’t think he is THAT good enough of an actor for all his blow ups to be totally ignored and forgiven. And I remember “back in the day”, sorry I didn’t think he was good looking then and I don’t now. To each his own. 😉

  26. Jayna says:

Wow, his temper is frightening sometimes. Not fear of being hit or anything. Just that wall of sound of verbal diahrrea coming from him when angry. Exhaustng. I guess his yoga wife isn’t centering him.

Every time I see her she’s on that Bllly Bush show with Alec trying to help push her to be an entertainment reporter and only she interviews Alec on there mostly. Yawn.

  27. Reece says:

Maybe he should try taking some of her yoga classes. Or did she quit when she got the ring?

  28. Decloo says:

Alex looks really rough in these photos. When he got married he was thin and was dyeing his hair and looked great. Now he looks like the not cute brother–is it Stephen?

  29. UsedToBeLulu says:

He needs to figure out a way to deactivate that rage gene of his. Sheesh.

  30. lisa2 says:

He picked up at Cannes before. 2 years in a row. So take that as you will.

A lot of excuses for Alec. and the reasons; he loves his wife so much. How do we know that. I see words “Rage Monster”. but it is in some cases used as a joke or pet name.

What the DM said about his wife was offensive if not true, but hardly the worst thing ever printed by a tabloid. But there are celebrities that have had way more vile stories printed and they don’t go apeshit on twitter. In fact they are not even on social media.

With celebrities I get the frustration in the lies printed. But when you go all crazy like this your response becomes the next story. So now the story is Alec.. not what was in the DM (a lying source by the way)

    • renata says:

Funny to read your post. I wasn’t aware of an issue of him having “picked up” at Cannes, but the first thing I thought when I looked at the photos was that this guy is drinking again.

The rage expression he seems to regularly experience is part and parcel of his background as an alcoholic. It doesn’t really matter if he’s drinking or not — rage is so intertwined with that illness that expecting him to stop is pointless. In some ways I feel for the man — I know others that go through the same problem, and its not fun. Not a bit. The humiliation following the “explosion” is just plain sad. There are periods when those who have an alcoholic background are just not fully in control, and there’s no use expecting anything other than that. It’s unfortunate — he’s a bright guy, talented, he has plenty to offer, but underneath it all he has this glaring problem that will never go away.

    • Kiddo says:

What does “picked up” mean in this circumstance?

  31. Asdfg says:

He is disgusting and he still gets work yet Paula Deen admits she used the N word under distress and gets fired?

Hmm… i’m not defending Paula I just find this a little weird. Alec Baldwin doesn’t get a pass from me. Nope. He has problems.

    • Agnetha says:

He has made so many homophobic comments in the past along with today. I don’t get why he gets a free ride while so many other celebs like Issiah Washington, Paula Deen, and Mel Gibson say things and (deservedly) get crucified. There needs to be equal consequences for all celebs that say hateful things.

Alec seems like one of the bigger A-holes out there in Hollywood. Remember how he went to town on twitter over some barrista he was upset with and kept calling him a queen and worse? Then he wouldn’t turn off his words with friends game on an airplane and caused a ruckus. Not to mention this dude called his own child a pig. He was very handsome back in the day, but now he is a bloated old fool. He needs to go.

  32. Debra says:

I believe they are still investigating about the timestamp of the tweets, but there were many more tweets from Hilaria during several hours, and they were not all retweets, they were straight from her.. my question is, when will Alec Baldwin be arrested for threatening the reporters life and inciting others to violence? Oh, I forgot.. he’s a big star so the laws and rules are different for him than for us normal people

    • UsedToBeLulu says:

Just to be completely b*tchy here: What the hell kind of name is ‘Hilaria’?!

      • Mitch Buchanan Rocks! says:

Sounds like Hilarie and diarrhea mixed together, though I believe it is pronounced differently in her native language. I marvel at how the lady can deal with Alecs verbal diarrhea, which is not all that hillarious.

      • Jayna says:

I think the H is silent. Her name is phonetically
ee-lah-ria or something close. She was born in Spain.

    • Bitca says:

Depends on several things–from pre-scheduled assistant run tweets to confusion re cross-pond time differences & 12 vs 24-hour time-stamps. In her own after-the-fact (frequently cloying) tweet, Hillaria states she NEVER carries a phone to solemn events like funeral services… in effect saying, where are eye-witnesses? Photos?

If the service was here in NYC, our time should be 5 hours later than UK. In LA, English time is about 8 hours behind.

As a rare twitter user, was never clear on how they handled international time & date stamps, whether tweetdeck follows same method, &c–but what is apparent is that the Baldwins’ DM Toxic Brit is a very early riser!

Am not obsessed, but still scarred from almost 15 years of x-pond dueling Clocks on email strings, faxes, & the like… :\

This man is insane. I predict one day he will beat somebody to death.

  34. Onyx XV says:

They can deny it all they want, but I totally believe she was tweeting during the funeral. She seems like the fame-whorish type that would do something incredibly thoughtless and tacky like that. Alec’s pissed that she got caught. I really like his work, but man, he acts like a giant 5 year old sometimes!

  35. Bella says:

Good luck new wife! Do you have blinder`s ? After the baby she will be
looking to get outa this mess.He has of shown his ass to her…

  36. Mitch Buchanan Rocks! says:

In the fourth photo Hiliaria looks like Punky Brewster.

  37. Dommy Dearest says:

Despite all the cheese that is his wife and what not. He’s threatening someone. It’s not fair that ordinary citizens get probed and arrested for threats while this wash up gets to get away with it. I know there is no equality among people when it deals with celebrities but this is ridiculous. He has enough money to make someone disappear. Even if they are empty threats (probably), why does he get to get away with it while people with no fame or money don’t?

  38. Tiffany :) says:

Isn’t threatening to hurt someone a crime?

    • Dommy Dearest says:

Exactly. People have been arrested for the same thing but Baldwin has money. And money is what makes the judicial system go round.

  39. Thiajoka says:

Wow, another pregnant woman wearing stripper heels. Geez, give those dogs a break, pregnant women!

I didn’t watch 30 Rock for years because of Alec Baldwin–I just couldn’t with him after the verbal abuse he heaped on his daughter. I finally did watch it just in time to sync up with the last season and I was sort of irked with myself for liking the character he played so much. Someone up-thread mentioned Kelsey Grammer and the guy who played Kramer–yeah, those two have ruined my enjoyment of Frasier and Seinfeld, too.

    • Raquel says:

I agree–my brother had to get me to watch 30 Rock for the first time–I was so sure I wouldn’t be able to stomach a show with Alec Baldwin in it (and, to be fair, whenever there is a scene with him, the song from Team America starts playing in my mind).

The thing is, though–I like 30 Rock, not because Baldwin excels at it, but because the show is just that funny. If his character didn’t have the lines that he did, Baldwin would be insufferable–so the writers saved him…not comedic talent of his own.

  40. yve says:

I’m so damn tired of the double-standard that perpetuates in our ‘celeb’ society. Paula Deen is getting raked over the coals, and her life is being systematically dismantled. (Even Sharpton agrees!!)Baldwin says racist, sexist, nasty stuff, and not a sound is heard from advertisers, networks, or anywhere. Actions, or inactions, seem fueled by political leanings – it’s the only explanation. Excuses are made for those who follow a certain agenda, while others’ transgressions of a similar sort, are magnified to ridiculous extremes. Baldwin and Deen are only two examples, but there are several as of late. Sickening.

    • Resa says:

If you’re insinuating that Alec is getting away with it because he’s a democrat, it would behoove you to know that Paula Deen campaigned for Obama. So lets not make this about poor disenfranchised Republicans because that argument just doesn’t work here.

  41. Mrs. Ari Gold says:

He will treat his new child and wife the way he has treated the others – he is a verbally abusive man. I feel worried and sad for Hilaria and the new baby.

  42. Henry says:

On the one hand–it was a pretty shitty thing that “journalist” wrote about his wife. I’m not saying she’s a good person, but, Christ, if you are going to say that someone was tweeting at a funeral, you had better triple-check your facts.

On the other–what an infantile way to react. And the homophobia just brings it to a whole new low. The fact that he felt comfortable using ‘queen’ as a derogatory term and publishing it for thousands to read speaks volumes about Baldwin…so why isn’t more being made of it?

The only reason this pitiful individual is even famous anymore is because he grabbed ahold of the lovely and talented Tina Fey’s coattails when she was on the rise.

  43. Danskins says:

People can try to twist this situation around in order to somehow increase sympathy for Paula Deen all they want but what Paula did (insulting the POTUS, calling blacks the ‘n’ word for years, allowing her brother to run a sexist working environment at their restaurants, making blacks use different bathrooms at their restaurants – I mean, wtf?, not taking responsibility for any of her transgressions) is far worse. Alec is ignorant for making homophobic rants but he didnt run a business empire for years and willfully treat his own employees like crap. Two totally different things.

    • Dommy Dearest says:

Twenty six years ago was when everything she just got in trouble for happened. Lil Wayne made a music video within the past few weeks of him stepping on the American flag. Nothing. Now Alec is sitting there threatening a journalist. Nothing.

You’re right he didn’t run a business, with his career it would probably flop anyways. But to sit here and let this man get away with actual threats of f*cking someone up, meaning and wanting to commit physical harm to another person… Words are words at this point and while what Paula said was unacceptable, Alec needs to be dealt repercussions for his words. Not a Paula supporter at all but come on. We’re going to raise the pitch forks at her but not this man nor Wayne? America, dude, America.

This seems like sexism at its finest.

      • Kiddo says:

Dommy, you need to read the depo, her actions are much more current, and her apology was shite. She said she wasn’t going to change. But I never liked her in the first place, so she’s not losing any business here.

However, I agree that Baldwin should get a “spanking” for her antics from Capital One. I think what helps him slide is that his last role was comedic and comedians do get a certain pass for things they say. I disagree with that in this case. It wasn’t simply the slur, it was the threats and inciting others to go at the gossip writer.

      • Kiddo says:

        For his antics.

      • Dommy Dearest says:

I do some reading with Paula but over all I just ignore the whole thing (but I will read some articles as I’d like to know what she has done recently). What has me outraged is the punishment for her versus the lack for celebrities like Alec. You learn not to use racist words but you learn it’s alright to go after someone on a social network and encourage others to do the same. It’s not right. We’re so against bullying and yet Alec did it so obviously it can be considered a slap in the face. Like I said I care less for Paula and I’m not on her bandwagon, just on the bandwagon that is outraged by ‘this is wrong but this is okay.’

When do celebrities ever give a sincere apology?

      • Danskins says:

@ Dommy, I never said what Alec did is “ok” (your words, not mine). I said what he did in no way compares to what Paula did. She demeened an entire race of people for years (not only 26 years ago…). She ran a sexist (and l wouldn’t be shocked if it was homophobic as well) work environment that was harmful and toxic to women and minorities. She’s disgusting and it’s mind boggling that some are trying to compare her and Alec when their situations are completely different.

  44. Kiddo says:

Stay off social media then, would be my advice. Supposedly his wife was asking the public about what gift to buy. If you want to be left alone, doing that sort of thing appears contrary to that goal.

  45. Dommy Dearest says:

Even if he does want to be left alone it doesn’t excuse the threats he kept sending the journalist. Nor getting his followers to join him against the journalist. He definitely didn’t earn a pass with that. There are so many other ways to handle that situation and given how there is no type of backlash against him with this, he’ll do it again.

    • Kiddo says:

Of course he’ll do it again. It’s his MO.

Another difference between what’s happening with Paula Deen and Alec Baldwin is that we pretty much know Alec is a bit of a dick. Even his last character was. Paula Deen was so sweet on the surface you’d get diabetes just listening to her. Not that it makes his behavior better. It just isn’t shocking since it’s been a routine.
