Is Robert Pattinson really neurotic about sex & relationships these days?

Here are some photos of Rob in LA a few days ago. The photos are really artsy, right? “Sparkles, Through Chain-Link” will be the name of the series. You could put these in a gallery and Twihards would line up. Anyway, the tabloids are still running stories about Robert and Riley Keough, and I don’t even know what it’s about at this point. Riley’s people denied that she was the one in Rob’s car, but all of the Twihard-sites and outlets are still talking about how Rob and Riley are “together” to varying degrees. According to Hollywood Life’s source:

Rob will probably be seen with other girls along with Riley. He generally considers himself both single to his friends and exclusive when he is with Riley. He wants his cake and eat it to kind of thing. It’s getting very physical between him and Riley, but he still isn’t ready to pull the trigger on a full relationship as he will be away filming soon and he doesn’t want to ruin something that is blossoming by leaving. He is aware that something still might happen, but he is being cautious. But with a strongly physical relationship that is happening, he knows that can always lead to more, so his mind is everywhere.

Rob was a little scared off that this new relationship was going to be a media firestorm, so he has slowed things down, so mostly it’s a physical relationship. They don’t consider it dating, but everyone around them does. And I wouldn’t say they are in love, but they could easily get there. He is afraid that he will get hurt or hurt her, so he is treading lightly because he does genuinely like her.

God, Sparkles sounds so neurotic. Like, is he a pillow-weeper? Is he the guy who cries after sex? Or should I say, is he the guy who cries after licking Riley Keough’s armpit? Anyway, take that as you will – I’m pretty much over that story, and I can’t wait for Rob to start dating someone really scandalous. Someone with her own profile and celebrity. Maybe someone a bit older too? Oh, that would freak out the Twihards so much.

In other Sparkles news, it looks like his long-gestating project Mission: Blacklist is gearing up to begin filming soon. The original director dropped out, but they found a new director – a Swede! – really quickly:

The Swedish invasion into Hollywood continues. Jesper Ganslandt has been tapped to direct Robert Pattinson in the psychological thriller Mission: Blacklist, about a brilliant young military interrogator who spearheads the capture of Saddam Hussein. Pic is based on the life of soldier-turned-intelligence agent Eric Maddox, who funneled his experiences into the 2008 nonfic book Mission: Black List #1 – The Inside Story Of The Search For Saddam Hussein – As Told By The Soldier Who Masterminded His Capture.

The Code Entertainment project was announced at Cannes last year, back when Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire was set to direct. Following Sauvaire’s departure, Ganslandt stepped in and will make his English-language debut after directing three features — Blondie, The Ape, and Falkenberg Farewell — in his native Sweden. Filming is scheduled for the fall. The script is by Band Of Brothers scribe Erik Jendresen, Dylan Kussman, and Trace Sheehan.

[From Deadline]

Does Sparkles have what it takes to play a badass soldier/merc/spy hunting down Saddam Hussein? What’s interesting to me is that there doesn’t seem to be a real thirst for stories about our “adventure” in Iraq, really. Hollywood makes the occasional Iraq War movie, and I believe every one of them has bombed thus far. But maybe if the film has a concentrated purpose/mission – hunting Hussein – it will make for a more compelling movie? Perhaps. Maybe this will be the Zero Dark Thirty of the hunt for Saddam. Or maybe we’re ten years and two months removed from “Mission Accomplished” and all we feel (as Americans) is abject regret.

Oh FFS, does anyone take Hollywood Life seriously? Really?

    • Janet says:

Hollywood Life is about as reliable
      as OK Magazine.

    • Anname says:

I like their new story about Kristen eating Hot Pockets and listening to Van Morrison – very amusing. No way anyone is believing this stuff.

      • Anname says:

Update this morning – Kristen is now studying Buddhism, according to HL, to help her get over Rob. Totally believable.

    • Jen says:

They are right up there with the Enquirer. I don’t believe anything either of these two dreadful rags makes up and this is from someone who does not give a rat’s a__ about this couple. I just hate Hollywood life and NE out of general principle.

  2. Isabel says:

I don’t think he even thinks about dating now. If he is the sweet guy I think he is (he comes off in the media as a shy, somewhat neurotic sweetie) he is heartbroken right now and don’t care about new vagina. He is prolly drinking with friends, and hanging out randomly.

I kinda want to hug him, he always seems sad/nervous/uncomfortable, boo!

  3. Cece says:

He’s a young guy, and will no doubt date a number of women over the years. All of this guessing as to who he is dating and the state of their relationship is boring and speculative. I just don’t see the fascination.

  4. Tessa says:

Rob looks so good these days. He’s always so much better looking when he’s not with Kristen. When he puts in minimal effort, there’s no one hotter imo.

  5. marie says:

ha, he will forever be tagged as “pit licker” for me.I think he’d be dumb to tie himself down right away. Get out there, play the field.

  6. Mia 4S says:

Who cares? Given the production company involved it will barely get a release. Not to worry. Shame really, with a stronger actor and more prominent director it might have been something.

  7. Lulu86 says:

There is something unique about this guy, i cant quite put my finger on it. For one not many guys forgive their women after cheating on them. It seems like he has something to hide, most guys in his position would of been complete womanizers.Maybe he is rubbish in bed or has a small member. It may sound shallow but i am truly not trying to be, there is something more to Rob. Alternatively he could just be a decent guy.

    • Tessa says:

No one thinks Garrett Hedlund or Liam Hemsworth have a small penis just because they fell into longterm relationships just as they were getting famous. Hell, Chris Hemsworth got married and had a kid! Not every guy, no matter how hot they are is cut out to be a womanizer. And if they’re not, it doesn’t mean they have a small penis or are hiding something, they just prefer monogamy and actual connection vs. empty hookups. I think Rob fell in love with Kristen and planned a future with her and she pulled the rug out from underneath him. The last year has been a mess with having to finish out Twilight without total fan combustion and drama. I think he’s dealt with it really well, and ending things now when there’s nothing left to promote and he’ll never have to work with her in any fashion ever again was the only way.

    • Annie says:

If you’ve seen him in sweatpants or tight pants, you know he’s actually quite big. So no. That’s not why he’s a decent guy.

Some people are just raised better. If you watch interviews of him talking about his father, you understand why he has so much integrity. He’s a good guy, a very romantic guy. An idealist and someone who truly believed he could fix his problems with Kristen and forgive a mistake. But now he sees the mistake was actually taking her back and she’s not the person he thought she was. So he moved on and good for him. Now if only he could get his career together.

    • Erinn says:

It’s a sad world we live in when we’re suspicious of people who are considered to be well behaved.

Not every guy is a womanizer. Just like not every woman wants to quit work and raise babies.

Some men are legitimately nice guys who love to have the bond of a monogamous relationship.

      • Annie says:

And I totally see Rob stay single for a while and then start a new long time relationship.
Hopefully he’ll pick someone better and has learned not to idealize a woman so much. He thought Kristen was perfect.

    • Claire says:

Hahaha poor Robert – can’t believe we are talking about the size of his penis now

  8. Ramona says:

I remember being in my twenties and dating….my girlfriends and I used to contemplate which came first….the baldness or the ballcaps?

  9. lisa says:

no scinos for you rob patz! you are too sensitive

  10. Tig says:

Not that I expected anything from HL to make sense, but this is a new low. Good grief- if he’s a bit hesitant about a new relationship, who could blame him?

Re Mission Blacklist- it’s not an action/shoot em up movie. I really liked ZDT, so I am excited to see this get made. Has anyone else seen any of this director’s movies? If yes, pls share your thoughts.

    • Anname says:

Yes, he is not going to be the big burly guy shooting at everything, but the intellectual guy finding new ways to get information. The book was a good read, it could be a great movie, suspenseful and intelligent.

    • Olivia says:

I am shocked at the director they got for mission blacklist. I was really hoping for someone more seasoned.

  11. Annie says:

Meh, that movie is going to come and go with no buzz whatsoever like everything Robert does, minus Twilight. It’s weird that he hates Twilight so much when it’s what got him his own appartment and financial stability. It’s pretty much his only job that has paid off at all and his best decision so far.

Anyway, I think it’s too soon for us to see him dating anyone. Maybe he’ll hook up a bit, but dating? Way too soon. Kristen pretty much messed him up. After an ugly break up there’s so much uncertainty and negative feelings that the last thing you want is a new relationship. You just need your space. I don’t even think Rob is at the stage where he even wants fun. I think people are forgetting what a horrible 12 month period he’s had because of Kristen. Maybe he just needs to breath.

Can’t believe it’s going to be a YEAR of this mess. Wow.

    • Another Ann says:

I never got the feeling that he “hates” Twilight. He’s said numerous times that he’s very grateful for what it’s given him. I do think he’s really amused by so much of what surrounds it, and likes to joke about it. He jokes about everything. A lot of people don’t seem to get his very British sense of humor. And being a 20-something guy, he’s not the target demographic. Of course he’s going to shake his head at much of the storyline, but that doesn’t mean he “hates” it.

      • Anname says:

I am glad he wasn’t like Taylor Lautner, claiming that he thought the story was great and how much he was into it. That would have been fake and annoying.
I like the way Rob jokes about it, and yes, he has expressed how grateful he is and how Twilight has given him so many opportunities. He isn’t saying anything we haven’t all thought anyway! The story is sorta ridiculous, yet it hooks you.

      • Nicolette says:

        Agree.

      • Annie says:

Yeah, i guess. well hopefully he doesn’t hate it. I think he’s lucky to have such a loyal following. And the opportunity to make so much money and maybe not worry so much about his finances anymore. So I hope he’s grateful for that.

      • Dee says:

        This

And i think he played his character in it very convincingly, atleast the first one. After that, the other movies got a little messy, but i think that was more due to week script & direction.

So as long he does his work with commitment, even though he doesn’t completely agree with the subject matter, how does it matter? It’s not like SM was targeting audience of 20 something male, when she wrote TWi.

    • Dee says:

I don’t agree with the first part but completely agree with what you have said about his dating.

I don’t think you give him enough credit. You may have formed an opinion that he is not thankful about Twilight and everything it has gotten him after something you heard him say. It’s very possible that he may have a love-hate relationship with that movie. But he is an incredibly self-aware guy. Just to state an example, I say this because i have seen him acknowledge that the reception he got at Cannes last year for Cosmopolis got to his head and made him act like a ‘douche’ and that was within a few days after the conclusion of the festival. So have some faith in him, he is more mature than you give him credit for, although i acknowledge that he doesn’t act so on a regular basis.

  12. Dedrie says:

He always looks like he has a jaw full of chewing tobacco spit.. and is anguished by all the nosy papps to find a private spot to do that..

  13. TinyPixie says:

I don’t know which is more preposterously stupid. Rpatz as a military interrogator or Kristen Stewart as a Gitmo soldier.

    • Dee says:

Why don’t you wait to watch these movies, whenever they are released to be able to form and give a more informed opinion.

That might make it worth reading it here.

  14. Mandy says:

OOOHH, I know! Wino and Sparkles should TOTALLY get together.

  15. Dee says:

I can understand anyone famous being paranoid about being used. It would definitely make dating more difficult than other people.

If he dates someone equally famous then it will double the amount of media scrutiny. But if it’s someone less famous or completely outside the industry, then he’ll be worried, whether they are genuinely interested in him or his fame, not to mention whether such a person will be able to withstand the constant media scrutiny, will remains to be seen. And we know, media is never your friend.

  16. Emma says:

I’ve always thought the Armpit story from dummy Kristen was about Rupert. Why do people associate it with Rob?

    • Olivia says:

      Because dummy Rob admitted it.

      • Lou says:

He was asked about it on the radio in Oz, he joked about it, what exactly should he have said? It was probably very embarrassing for him. Hasn’t Stewart humiliated him enough? Plus, I’m pretty sure she was talking about Sanders.

      • Olivia says:

Like I said, dummy rob. If he wants to be taken seriously, he should stop saying stupid shit. It always backfires on him. People still talk about his smell and lack of bathing because he thought it would be funny. He brings this on himself.

    • Another Ann says:

Really don’t think she’d label her married director as her boyfriend.

    • TrustMeOnThis says:

Yes, Rupie is the pitlicker. Check out the right-from-the-gym minicooper pix!

  17. Emily C. says:

Pity is not good for his career. I do not believe that he’s this poor helpless woobie he’s portrayed as so often, and he really needs to lock that down, because it’s ew.

    • Lark says:

IA. His manager/PR does a terrible job, almost as bad as KStew’s. His stans buy anything though, and for some reason he wants the helpless little creature image…those late night hijinks last year where he ate food and acted sad weren’t exactly sprung on him. Best thing to do would be to put out there how excited and focused he is for work and to step out with a woman in a few weeks. Doubt it will happen, though.

      • Olivia says:

@lark I completely agree! While I didn’t mind that he handled the affair with class, the poor pitiful act grew old. The studio behind cosmopolis milked it, they thought any press was good press. Boy, we’re they wrong beucase the Bo fell flat. I want to see a new and improved rob, one hat looks in control as opposed to one that is looking for his mommy ans to take care of him.

  18. Dana says:

Could it be possible that he is actually dating Riley, but she (or her people) denied it because she is afraid of crazy Twihards?

    • Olivia says:

I doubt it. Riley hangs out with Kristen’s friends all the time. In fact, she was with Kristen when the truck pictures happened. His personal life is way too interesting to people because he allows it to be. His team needs to get a grip.

  19. Dana says:

P.S. It is true: He really looks so much better when he’ s not with Kristen. We are not imagining this. It is obvious when you look at his pictures. How odd!

  20. Boo says:

Oh how I wish Rob’s team would shut down some of the crap HL come up with. They are hell bent on continuing this ridiculous narrative of poor hapless Rob, he’s such a romantic sap. I believe Rob is sensitive and romantic, but he’s also a 27 year old guy who’s incredibly handsome and famous. He’s going to be sleeping with women a lot and why not? That’s totally normal and understandable, after being in a long term relationship.

  21. Lou says:

Really looking forward to Mission Blacklist. I think it’ll be an interesting role for Rob. I don’t think enough people give him credit for some of the intelligent choices he’s making. Rob is very smart and astute, he is making decisions based on career longevity instead of jumping at every ‘romantic’ leading man role, that gets thrown at him. He’s in it for the long haul, good luck to him.

  22. Boo says:

Robs looking really hot at the moment, saw some pics yesterday and I’m sure he’s been working out. Single looks good on him.

  23. KierneM says:

    Taylor Lautner- who?
In all seriousness, the kid seems to have fallen off the face of the planet!

  24. choppersann 13 says:

I don’t get his appeal… he’s average in looks and talent imo… and too sensitive for my personal taste based on his current public image… complete snore…I typically ignore posts about ‘sparkles’
if I didn’t have an odd case of insomnia I wouldn’t even be here to type this…

    • lindyuk says:

Funnily enough I don’t get the appeal of many Hollywood ‘Stars’..I find them totally un-sexy, boring and non-charistmactic but I can’t be bothered posting my negative opinions on their threads on gossips/blogs- what a waste of time and precious energy and ‘sleep time’ LOL!!! Get yer head down and sleep it off and go find some actor that you really really really like golly gosh!!!!

  25. Barbara Wilson says:

Wow, can the author of this article sounds any more bitter about Rob? You would think he did something to the guy personally. Lol! I guess I would have hard feelings against the guy millions of women fantasize about if I was a man too. Lol!
