First of all, how cute a name is “Davey Detail”? It sounds like a pseudonym, and maybe it is, or a superhero’s administrative assistant sidekick. “Davey Detail, pull up the coordinates to Octomonster’s lair.” Anyway Rose McGowan, 39, and Mr. Detail started dating sometime last year and now they’re engaged. Her publicist confirmed the news, and Rose has been seen out with a ring on her finger. It’s hard to see in the photo above but it looks like a square-cut emerald surrounded by diamonds on a thick gold band. I’m more into platinum and silver rings but I like how substantial it is without looking ostentatious. It’s a nice ring. Here’s more:

Congratulations to Rose McGowan!

The former Charmed star is “happily engaged” to artist Davey Detail, McGowan’s rep confirmed exclusively to E! News Monday.

Detail is a member of the artist collective Cyrcle.

The now betrothed couple started dating last year, making for some adorable red-carpet photo ops, and pics of McGowan wearing a ring on that finger popped up last week.

The actress was previously engaged to Marilyn Manson, whom she broke up with in 2001 due to a “lifestyle difference,” and Robert Rodriguez, who directed her in Grindhouse. She and the filmmaker split up in 2009.

Yes the last guy Rose was engaged to was married with kids when she got with him and she was more than old enough to know better. (He may have been separated, but it was suspicious.) Director Robert Rodriguez helped her career until he couldn’t anymore and then they went their separate ways, probably in that order but not necessarily. Prior to that she was engaged to Marilyn Manson, so she doesn’t really know how to pick them. In any case I hope she’s happy with this guy and that it lasts for her. I’m surprised she’s not with someone higher profile, but maybe she’s just wildly in love and happy. In some of these shots she looks a little toasty too.
