Last month, the UK tabloids ran a very interesting “blind item” about a British rock star who had fathered a love child with a woman in NYC. Many people thought the rock star was Chris Martin, but Page Six managed to figure out that it was actually Liam Gallagher. The New York woman had sued Liam for child support, and there was paternity drama and stuff because Liam is already married and this child was conceived during his marriage. Apparently, Liam forced the issue of a paternity test (even though the woman said all along that she knew he was the father), and Page Six now says that everything is confirmed. The kid is Liam’s. But he still doesn’t want to acknowledge it AND he’s trying to make sure that the woman never does any kind of “tell-all”.
Philandering rocker Liam Gallagher is trying to force the mother of his love child, New York journalist Liza Ghorbani, to sign a legal agreement to never reveal any of his secrets — putting their negotiations for child support in deadlock.
Page Six exclusively revealed the former Oasis frontman fathered a daughter with Ghorbani after she interviewed him for the New York Times in 2010, for a story titled “A Night Out With Liam Gallagher.”
DNA tests have confirmed that the legendary rocker is the father of her 8-month-old daughter, Gemma — but Gallagher, 40, has yet to publicly acknowledge his paternity or his “intense” romance with Ghorbani.
A friend of Ghorbani tells us, “Liza had no problem signing a confidentiality agreement regarding Liam’s finances, but Liam’s lawyers discreetly tried to add on an agreement that Liza never disclose any personal details of their relationship. This has made Liza irate.”
“His lawyers have insulted her one too many times,” the source continued. “Liza sat quietly for Liam through her pregnancy and months after, while caring for their child with no help from him monetarily or otherwise, even trying to keep their identities secret in the court case. She’s fed up. Liza and Liam were so close, they were picking out baby names together. She won’t sign the confidentiality agreement, she feels it is offensive because they did have an intense relationship. The negotiations are deadlocked.”
Gallagher — who has four children with four different women — and his team once again refused to comment last night on the legal proceedings over the baby or about new revelations that he has been dating former aide Debbie Gwyther “for months.” The Sun reported Gallagher was romantically involved with Gwyther before his split with wife Nicole Appleton over his romance with Ghorbani.
Non-disclosure agreements are standard operating procedure these days, so I’m not clutching my pearls at the idea that Liam’s lawyers are trying to make Liza sign one. That being said, if I was Liza, I would be pissed off too. I believe her side of the story – that they didn’t just have a one-night fling, that they had a relationship and that she tried to deal with the paternity/child support issues quietly but he made it impossible. I kind of want her to hold out for more money, more freedom to say what she wants and all of it. Take him to the cleaners!

She interviewed him and that was likely the event that led them to be attracted to each other a spark up a romance. Since she claims this was an ongoing relationship the timeline makes sense. It also blows his 1 night fling defense out of the water. He was never all that nice of a person. Noel was the brains and heart of that band and when Liam threw a tantrum on Mtv unplugged their personalities became very clear.
Hope she takes him to the cleaners too.

I don’t understand how legally he can demand a confidentiality agreement / withhold payments. He owes child support, period. It may just be a case of how much, as in he’ll agree on more if she signs. But I hope she tells him to stick it and a judge sorts him out tout suite.
Doesn’t she have a right to child support whether she signs a non-disclosure or not? I could see a non-disclosure for other things (including financials) but seriously, can they refuse child support based on her not signing a NDA?
Hazarding a guess here- child support is typically established according to Federal guidelines. It may be he’s saying “forget guidelines, I will pay you over and above that, in exchange for the NDA”- she won’t sign, and he won’t budge.
So that puts it back to court for judge to set amt of support. Quite frankly, this guy has the morals of an alley cat, and he’s only 40- he could father any # of additional children. The financial pie can only be cut so many times. She should get the most money she can while he still has it!
It’s state guidelines, in this case, New York – 17% of gross adjusted income. The judge has discretion to increase or decrease based on disparity of wealth or income between the two parents (meaning Liam Gallagher could be ordered to pay more than the guideline percentage). He could also be made to pay medical, education, etc.
In most jurisdictions, child support cannot be waived no matter what private agreement is in place. Certainly he could agree to pay her more (but not less). If he continues to behave like an ass (he can’t seem to help it), he’ll certainly get dinged for it in court. Judges don’t have a lot of patience who try to strong-arm the other parent using child support.
