Chris Brown ordered to do 1,000 more hours of community service in LA

In between hater-induced seizures and whining about Middle America destroying his music career, it’s hard to believe that Chris Brown hasn’t found time to actually complete his community service hours that were court-ordered after his plea deal for nearly killing his then-girlfriend. But no, Breezy didn’t feel like doing his community service, and he just lied and told the court that he did the hours because what is the judge going to do about it? Stupid haters always trying to take down Chris Brown!!! Well, the judge did do something about it. Chris was back in court on Friday to reinstate his probation (following the dropped charges on that weird hit-and-run incident), and the judge was like, “Oh, by the way did you ever finish your community service?” And Chris was like, “Um. Yeah. Sure.” And the judge was all, “O RLY? No you didn’t, so now you have to do 1000 hours.”

Chris Brown just got his ass handed to him in court — the judge sentenced him to 1,000 more hours of community labor after the L.A. County D.A. accused him of fudging his records.

As we reported, the D.A. believes the singer violated his probation in the Rihanna beating case by submitting bogus community service reports — in one case even swearing he was picking up trash in Virginia when he was actually on a private jet to Cancun.
The judge revoked Chris’ probation last month in the wake of hit-and-run allegations, but reinstated it today on the condition Chris completes an additional 1,000 hours of community service.

Think of it like a do-over — because of the discrepancy in Chris’ original labor hours, the singer won’t get ANY credit for service he may or may not have completed since his conviction. Chris was originally sentenced to 180 days of community labor (1,440 hours).

Unlike last time — when the judge said Chris could complete his labor in his home state of Virginia — the judge today ordered that Chris’ service must be supervised by L.A. County officials.

Chris can choose between Caltrans (aka highway cleanup), beach cleanup, probation alternative work services (PAWS), or our personal favorite … graffiti removal.

Chris must also report to a probation officer within the next 48 hours. He did not look happy in court.

The good news … Chris’ probation will finally end in August 2014. One more year to go.

[From TMZ]

It makes me sick to my stomach that Chris considers himself a resident of my state (VA). I wish my grifter governor would say Breezy is no longer welcome here. Anyway, I’m glad that there’s at least one judge in LA County who TRIES to be hard on these douchebags. I still think community service is a GIFT to someone who committed such a violent crime, but that ship has sailed and I’m glad Breezy will have to spend 1000 hours out of the studio, actually doing real work.

I’m actually glad he has to do this and not ‘serve time’ – ie, waste taxpayer money while earning ‘street cred.’ Let him earn it literally on the street, while picking up garbage!

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I thought he should have been sentenced to jail time for such a violent crime, but you make an excellent point.

      • Anna says:

For the abuse – certainly*. But that ship has sailed a long time ago. But as far as probation violation goes, this is fitting.

      • Tiffany :) says:

It isn’t that he just didn’t do the community service, he LIED about doing it.

I feel like getting a “do over” doesn’t really address the fact that he tried to scam the court. Shouldn’t their be a punishment for that?

  2. KatieD says:

It would be even better if he was ordered to do his community service in some other country, preferably one with no phone or internet…

  3. Dawn says:

A-hole didn’t do all of his community service hours before so what is a thousand more? He just won’t do these either. I wonder who Fist Brown is going to beat next? Either way it won’t matter because nothing will ever happen to the jerk. The way California treats celebs is a joke.

  4. MonicaQ says:

He’d do the community a service by going the hell away.

  5. Kiddo says:

Well, I just hope he drinks plenty of water as to not get dehydrated, ahem.

Boy George had to do something similar in NYC, community service that turned out to be sweeping the streets and picking up trash in parking lots. I think it was after he made a false police report about a break-in and they found cocaine in his apartment. He bargained a felony possession charge down to community service.

He survived and so will Chris Brown.

True, Boy George was hounded by paparazzi during his community service, along with some members of the public shouting abuse. But he also got to meet a lot of fans – one lady gave him flowers he had to carry around with his trash basket. You can see the footage on YouTube.

I don’t believe community service is appropriate for someone charged with very violent acts, but I’m glad the judge is making him redo it all, and not on his own terms anymore.
It will do nothing to change him. Though since apparently haters can cause a stroke, let’s hope the judge being tough causes something super irritating- shingles? Impotence?

  8. Emily C. says:

He gets community service for intentionally beating the crap out of someone and nearly killing her. Meanwhile, people do serious jail time for minor drug offenses. Because the jails are overcrowded with people doing serious jail time for minor drug offenses, violent criminals like Chris Brown walk. Our country is a mess.

    • Kcaia says:

omg don’t get me started. I’m right with you here.

    • Tiffany :) says:

I agree, Emily, the justice system in our country has the priorities completely backward.

    • kay says:

The reason why Chris Brown got community service is because the victim was reluctant to testify against him. Stop blaming the system, why should they waste their time when Rihanna did even want to press charges.

  9. bcgirl says:

I really wish you guys would stop referring to him as “Breezy”. Yeah, that’s his fun name for himself, does it fit? Maybe you could use something more fitting, less flattering. Just had to finally say that.

  10. Kcaia says:

Haha, this article made me get some weird looks bc Im in a waiting room and Im lol.
