Aaron Paul personally calls up Twitter followers: awesome, bitches?

Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul is fast developing a reputation as one of the nicest, most approachable celebrities. He consistently engages with fans on social media and we’ve never heard a bad word about him. Aaron recently did a Reddit AMA in which he was funny, down to earth and basically game to answer any questions thrown at him.

In case you’re not familiar with the show, Aaron plays Jesse Pinkman, a young meth cook currently struggling with his conscience. (I don’t think that’s a spoiler) His character throws out the word “bitch” to a comical degree. Since fans know him as Jesse they’re constantly yelling “yo, bitch!” at him, and he is happy to oblige. When asked on Reddit if he’s ok with that, Aaron said of course he is. “Yes, I get called ‘bitch’ on a daily basis and yes I do think I’ll get called ‘bitch’ on a daily basis for years to come. But to be honest, I don’t really mind because I like being called ‘bitch.‘” Ditto Aaron, I love that word. Another reason he’s awesome? He called up a bunch of fans who contacted him through Twitter. They were of course thrilled.

Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul surprised his fans Sunday by calling the first 10 to respond to a Tweet asking for their phone numbers.

“Happy Breaking Bad day b––s!” Paul Tweeted. “What’s your number? Calling the first 10 people to answer questions. Ask me anything.”

Fans quickly responded to Paul’s request, and the actor – who was recently nominated for an Emmy for his role as Jesse Pinkman in the series – made good on his promise.

“Aaron Paul called me. I’m serious. I am at a loss of words. He actually did it,” @vbizzlebeee Tweeted. “He asked if it was vbizzlebee then asked if I was crying and then I said he was my fav person ever and then he said he loved me.”

“Thanks for the call man!” @alonzo_j30 wrote. “Thought of a real question for you now but it’s [too] late. #INeedARedo”

“OMG @aaronpaul_8 just called me,” @joshfishr Tweeted. “Super cool down to earth dude.”

[From People]

This isn’t a LeAnn Rimes type of situation. Aaron isn’t bringing personal drama to social media and asking fans to take sides, he’s just talking to people. It does seem a little weird, but it’s also genius. Just look at how much press he got for making a few phone calls, not that Breaking Bad needs it. Maybe Aaron is trying to line up some gigs. He’s an incredible actor and I’d love to see him have a movie career. IMDB has him starring in two films that are in post production, so it could be happening for him.

Breaking Bad spoilers and conjecture follow
Aaron’s character Jesse is going through a deep depression. Jesse is numb and doesn’t want to deal with the world or his situation. In the last episode, Buried, we saw him being detained after trying to get rid of millions of dollars by tossing bundles of cash out of his car. The cops don’t have anything on him, although Hank knows that Jesse is involved with Walt. Hank will try and use Jesse to shore up a case against his brother in law. I doubt Jesse will tell Hank jack sh*t. He’s just going to sit there staring into space. I think that Hank is going to realize Jesse is a dead end, but try to convince Walt that Jesse talked. Walt doesn’t think anyone will be loyal to him, and he’ll believe Hank and get duped into spilling more details. This is just a theory I have, there’s no knowing how this brilliant show is going to play out.

Here’s a video of Aaron Paul calling a fan. He sounds a little high to me, but I’m probably just confusing him with his character. This also has a minor spoiler for Breaking Bad, but it’s kind of a no-brainer.

Aaron Paul is shown out on 7-25 and 7-31-13. He’s also shown with Bryan Cranston, Anna Gunn, and his new wife, Lauren Parsekian. Credit: FameFlynet and WENN.com

He seems like an awesome guy. Did you see the video where he comes outside to chat when he sees the stars’ homes tour van in front of his house?
I hope the fan interaction always stays positive for him.

I wonder. He pulls this on Reddit too, asks redditorsbto pm their numbers then he calls. On the surface its sweet. But think about the myriad of things that could go wrong. There are alot of mentally ill people out here. I mean seriously so. People who will conjure a far deeper relationship from a meaningless call. People who now know where he lives. His wife in particular would be a prime target for said sicko. And remember I only need to be right about one such individual.

People hate to admit it but theres a good reason to be a little distant as a celeb. Its a balance for sure but Aaron is tipping on the reckless side of that balance. So unnecessary.

      • Falula says:

Zoey, I see what you’re saying, but I don’t think he’s telling fans anything they don’t know by being nice. That carload of fans that went to his house already knew that he lived there – that’s why they were hanging out outside. I agree that there are ill people in the world, but I don’t think living in fear of said people is the way to approach life, famous or not.

      • Sara says:

I heard about the reddit thing too SMDH! Reddit is the toilet of the internet. As in this is where people admit openly to pedophilia and rape. Its not smart to encourage familiarity there or even on the internet generally. Infact, Reddit has a rule about posting personal info for this exact reason.

    • Holly says:

Yeah Lucy, that was an amazing video! I don’t know who on earth would be so cool if you had a car full of people sitting outside of your house like that; most any normal person would tell them to eff off or call the cops, but Aaron seems to be living up to his image <3 him!

    • Migdalia says:

Honestly, it doesn’t matter if he does stuff like this or not. Look at Jennifer Lawrence one of the more elusive stars of today, but someone managed to not only get her brother’s phone number but knew where her house was in Kentucky, I believe. If someone wants to know where someone lives they will find a way if deranged enough.

I love Aaron….a couple months ago he posted for fans to come hang out at a bar with him in LA to watch a band. Random lol.

  2. David99 says:

    Way cool.

  3. blue marie says:

that’s really cool of him, he seems like a genuinely nice guy which is hard to find in HW I bet.

  4. Kristin says:

Okay, I seriously LOVE this guy! He does seem genuinely nice and at a great place in his life. I genuinely want good things for this guy, and as I’m a bit of a cynic, I admit I don’t feel that way about too many celebs:)

  5. kay says:

    He’s awesome in every way.

  6. Blanca says:

That’s really cool right on man πŸ˜›

  7. mom2two says:

Aaron does seem like a really nice guy. And he’s smart, he knows how to engage with fans in a good way without encouraging the crazies. He’s a wonderful actor, so I hope he continues to have a good career after Breaking Bad.

  8. CleoCat73 says:

He’s one of those amazing actors who can convey every emotion under the sun w/o saying a word. Beautiful man.

    • Tiffany :) says:

I agree! I can’t help but fall back on a cliche, but he brings so much HEART to his role!

I knew Cranston was going to deliver an amazing perf when I started watching BB, but I had no idea Aaron had such talent. I am so happy he is getting kudos!

  9. Summer says:

He’s amazing. I hope he keeps it that way. Also It looks like he has put on a few pounds. He looks awesome!

  10. nikollet says:

He does seem like a genuinely nice guy, hope he stays that way.

If you’re a Breaking Bad fan you have to check out the the ‘bitch’ compilations on youtube. Love me some Jesse Pinkman!

  11. MademoiselleRose says:

I don’t watch that show, and haven’t really heard anything about this actor, but I hope he stays safe. How awesome he must be though, makes me want to know about him now. So nice to read about someone in Hollyweird doing good instead of being a total loon.

  12. Falula says:

I follow him on Instagram (I hardly follow any celebrities but Jesse is one of my favorite characters in the history of TV), and he also comments on and likes a lot of fan pictures. People are always so excited and I think it’s nice that he takes a few minutes of his time to do that for people.

  13. Mooncake says:

Pinkman is my favorite character on Breaking Bad. God I love that show!

    Science, bitch!

  14. Jennifer12 says:

He’s definitely a people person. A little odd, but down to earth and a nice change from stars and their bodyguards.

  15. Dee says:

He is a wonderful actor and i hope hollywood gives him lots of work now that Breaking Bad is ending. He also seems like a nice guy. Kudos!

  16. Mandy says:

Gosh, I can’t decide who I love more-Bryan Cranston or Aaron Paul! They are both so freaking adorable. I really don’t know what I’m going to do when BB is over. πŸ™

    • Holly says:

I genuinely feel like the world got lucky with BB and Bryan and Aaron. We got an amazing, original, phenomenal drama starring two actors who appear to be intent on being great people outside of the show, and want to let everyone know how much they love the fans for appreciating their work and keeping this show in business. I’m glad Aaron worked with Bryan and had such a great guy to learn from in terms of handling fame and humility.

      Best.Show.Ever.

Also, Anna looks beautiful in that first group pic, wowza!

      • Lauli says:

        Agree.
This show is beautifully written and acted. What a couple of fantastic and talented actors Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul are and all the cast deserves to be praised.
Especially in the second series every episode included something totally unexpected, so rare these days.

      • Pinky says:

You should read interviews with Vince Gilligan about this casting. 1. He wanted Bryan Cranston but the Powers That Be were not convinced and could only see him as the goofy dad from Malcolm in the Middle. It took a bit of convincing, but Vince was adamant. 2. Jesse Pinkman was supposed to die in the first season but they thought the chemistry (no pun intended, or pun intended, whatever you want) between the two actors was so good, they decided to make him Walter White’s true foil.

      • Keats says:

@ pinky: pun intended. pun always intended.
Seriously though choosing between Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul is such a Sophies choice.

      • Thiajoka says:

Well put, Holly. We are lucky to have had the show and the amazing cast and crew. But, boy will we miss it.

      • Tiffany :) says:

        I completely agree, Holly!

For once I feel like I got hooked on a series that did NOT go downhill after season 3. There are so many of my favorites that I just had to roll my eyes at in their final seasons (Six Feet Under, Weeds, etc.)

Breaking Bad started off as really high quality, and in season 5 they are still REALLY high quality.

I agree, this is my favorite show EVER!

  17. Really says:

Magnets, Bitch! I love you pinkman!

  18. Shelly says:

Aaron rocks. Jesse rocks. Breaking Bad rocks. Sad it will all end soon (going to go cry in my pillow now).

  19. Tania says:

He is amazing. I hope he gets lots of work. He is a great actor and is very well liked. I hope he is in movie after movie!

  20. Tania says:

Also forgot to say that he looks so healthy and happy.

  21. Maritza says:

He is a very good actor, I hope he gets some really juicy roles when Breaking Bad ends.

  22. Holly says:

I seriously want “Yeah Bitch! Magnets!” as my epitaph!

(whoops, this was supposed to be a response to Really #18!)

    • Tiffany :) says:

I saw him say that on Talking Bad last night and my heart melted. He is SOOOOO CUTE! There is this little boy sparkle in his eyes that just makes my heart go out to him.

He seems like such a sweetie in real life!

  23. Samtha says:

He’s 100% adorable and I hope he stays that way. It does freak me out a bit that he makes himself so available to fans. Like someone else said, it just takes one wrong person…

  24. Aunt Bea says:

That is too cool. Hide and watch for Pacino or some of his peers to do something like this. Most A-List ACT-ORS take themselves way too seriously, trying to lose themselves in character with Method Act-ting. And they actually do get crazy one way or the other — and always wind up egomaniacs. But look at this guy, will you! Emmy-nominated and he still acts just like a regular guy. A regular guy who appreciates his good fortune to be on the best show on TV and who appreciates his fans. Thanks, Aaron. You rock!

    • Tiffany :) says:

Friendly correction – He actually won 2 Emmys for playing Jesse! He is one of only 5 guys to win the award for supporting actor twice. πŸ™‚

I am so happy for him! I completely agree with you, he rocks!

      • Aunt Bea says:

Thanks, Tiff. Actually, I’ve just now managed to muster up the balls to watch BB. Tried before, but it was just tooooooo … INTENSE! But figured since it was the last season and cause I just love me some Cranston, I’d pull on my big-girl panties, tape my eyelids open, and give it a go. Very best regular series EVA! Mr. Paul deserves those Emmys.
