Earlier this month, I covered some pics from the photo call for the new Broadway revival of Romeo and Juliet, starring Orlando Bloom (who is 36 years old) and Condola Rashad (who is 26). The photos made me sad because Orlando is really too old to play Romeo and he just looked sad and uncomfortable. That being said, Condola is a lovely young woman and that’s enough for Miranda Kerr to get her thong in a twist. Allegedly. Considering I truly believe that Miranda is the one with wandering genitals in this marriage, I think it’s a bit rich for her to worry about Orlando and Condola maybe hooking up. Projection much?
Miranda Kerr is one of the world’s sexiest women, but that doesn’t stop her from fearing her husband, Orlando Bloom, will cheat! Orlando is starring in a revival of Romeo & Juliet alongside 26-year-old actress Condola Rashad, and Miranda is less than thrilled. After Orlando and Condola recently flirted and kissed during a NYC photocall, Miranda became suspicious.
“She’s steamed about how close they’ve gotten during rehearsals,” says a friend. Miranda recently declared her belief in giving a man space in a marriage – but is now afraid her relaxed views have backfired.
“Her friends talk about the hot chemistry between Orlando and Condola… she confronted him and he confessed to being taken with Condola but swore that was it. He insisted it was only professional.”

Yeah. It’s perfectly possible that someone is trying to create ANY kind of scandal in the hopes of creating any kind of buzz around this sad event of a 36-year-old former heartthrob playing Romeo. For the record, I don’t think Orlando is banging Condola. I kind of wish he was. Maybe if they were sleeping together, they would seem to have more chemistry together. Anyway… yeah, I doubt Miranda is jealous at all.

Why are you so certain she cheats? All I recall is a story of Gerard Butler approaching paps over some party pics, which could mean anything. From they feared that an innocent hug or laugh would be misconstrued to they were going at it hard.

I only read one review of this production and it was pretty good. Is it really *that* dire? Orly has a baby face. I would have thought he would get away with it. Although I’m not big on the James Dean staging.

I don’t think Orlando is too old to play Romeo onstage. In a movie, god yes, he’s ancient, but a lot can be forgiven when you’re watching from a distance.
Agree. I don’t think actors older than the characters are really a problem on stage.It’s the same for dancers and opera singers.
Margot Fonteyn danced the role of Juliet at 45 and was apparently brilliant.
Jude Law was the same age as Bloom when he played Hamlet on stage and those who witnessed the performance didn’t seem to mind.
Orlando lacks Jude Laws chops.
His big sell was that pretty face and he is now reaping the downside of being only a fangirl fav.

Jude Law is an incredible actor. An extremely rare mix of movie star looks and actual, genuine talent as well. I liked him in Ripley, Road to Perdition, and that movie about Oscar Wilde. He wore the hell of that pink vest in Wilde!
I am mot a fan of Miranda. She seems so self- important. I bet she treats Orlando like she’s doing a favour by being with him. I don’t think this coiple will last. Too bad. He seems decent.

I know everyone thinks its sad but the reviews are alright for this. I dont even like Orlando as an actor but he seems like a decent guy so i wish him the best.
I do like him as an actor, but still think he is too old for Romeo. I hear what is being said re stage vs film, and agree to a point. I did see a stage production- admittedly not B’way caliber- where the actress playing Juliet was 10-15 yrs older than Romeo. They were both fine, but she was just too mature to be a convincing teenage Juliet. I think to some extent all productions are haunted by the Leo/Clair Danes, and esp the 68 film with Olivia Hussey and L Whiting.

Seriously the fact that Miranda sleeps around is like the worst kept secret in Hollywood. She “caught” Orlando back in 2007 when he was still famous from POTC and she was just another no-name underwear model…. but for the past few years that cow has been milked dry.

Miss Rashad doesn’t seem like the type to get involved with a married man. She can do much better and I think this story does her a great disservice, as if Bloom could have her if he wanted her. NOT!
