Teresa Giudice begs fans for money to pay financial fraud legal defense

Teresa Giudice and her husband, Joe, have been indicted on multiple counts of federal financial fraud including conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, bankruptcy fraud, and falsifying loan applications. They’ve plead not guilty and face up to 50 years in prison if convicted. The general consensus is that Joe will at least serve some prison time. Teresa’s trial is set for early October, so we’ll have to stay tuned to see how it plays out.

Those of us who pay attention to these things know that Teresa and Joe regularly flaunt their ill-gotten wealth on television, in the tabloids, and on social media. Glancing through Teresa’s Twitter photos, I’m astonished at all the expensive dinners, parties and vacations she regularly has. Even if you don’t know these people, just looking at Teresa’s Twitter account will convince you that they live large. Joe and Teresa buy their daughters things like three foot wide chocolate Easter eggs, high end birthday cakes and quad bikes. Look at this family Christmas photo, check out the designer tree and how expensively everyone is dressed. This is not a family scaling back their lifestyle following a bankruptcy.

That’s partly why it’s so ripe that Teresa held a fundraiser to get money for her legal defense fund. She put out a whole press release announcing it. In response to the negative reaction to this news, Teresa tried to act like she didn’t really just beg people for money.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey star will be making a personal appearance to ask her loyal followers to donate money to her legal defense at the Malibu Beach Resort on Thursday night.

“Her supporters and millions of fans around the world strongly believe Teresa will be vindicated soon and are seeking donations for the reality TV star, who has four young children,” a press release about the event reads.

“The group is dedicated to helping Teresa stay out of prison and also help pay any fines or other restitution that Teresa and Joe are ordered to pay.”

As RadarOnline.com has previously reported, Teresa and Juicy Joe pleaded not guilty to the federal charges, which include allegations of falsifying tax returns and W2 forms.

While the Bravo star has dismissed the charges that she is having financial difficulties, the event organizers expect to have “hundreds of fans collecting money” to help Teresa and Joe pay for their lengthy legal battle.

Teresa and Joe are facing 50 years behind bars if they are convicted of committing the crimes with which they are charged.

Perhaps due to backlash about the fundraiser, Teresa is denying the information in the press release, Tweeting: “Tonight’s appearance at Maliblue is just a meet & greet w/ fans. I just heard that some of the workers there wanted to support me, and that is very sweet & I appreciate it, but if anyone wants to support me, please do it by donating to a charity I love: @NephCure. Xx”

[From Radar Online]

These people give zero f*cks. I just hope that the jury in each of their cases (they’re being tried separately) is allowed to fully examine Teresa’s Twitter account. Her tweets should definitely be admissible. She consistently purchases whatever she wants and shows it off to the public. This is not a case of Teresa doing her “job,” this is a family who systematically defrauded people so that they could become rich and famous. They think the rules don’t apply to them. Maybe Teresa will learn how to budget when she has to buy her luxury items from the commissary.

I just can’t with her hair line.

  3. Jessica says:

Ok, I know nothing about this woman, so can someone please tell me what the deal with her hairline is? It doesn’t look natural at all, but then I can’t imagine why anyone would wear a wig or get plugs that look like that?

    • Tapioca says:

If you look at her kids it’s (unfortunately) genetic, so natural. What I don’t understand is how she blew through 10s of millions and spent none of it on laser treatment!

      • Relli says:

+1 Because if I ever came into disposable cash the first place I am visiting is the dermatologist, the spa and the laser hair removal place!

  4. India says:

    Cry me a river.

  5. Kiddo says:

Yes, a worthy cause to donate to.
Bwahaha. Yep, can’t think of anything else more legitimate or valuable to contribute to.

    • Belle Epoch says:

Have they received any money? It should be illegal for them to even ask! Reminds me of Sarah Palin’s PAC, which she uses to get money from her supporters and then spends on herself. People are so D U M B!!!

      • Kiddo says:

I don’t think it’s illegal. Zimmerman set up a website and made a ton of cash. However, whatever they get, they have to report as income. I’m not following these bozos except on CB, were their assets frozen? They aren’t an NPO, so no tax credits for the fools who contribute.

  6. Lucy2 says:

Liars, cheats and thieves, oh my.

I love that the “group” says she will be vindicated…but they want to help pay fines and restitution they will owe. I guess no one involved knew what vindicated meant.

  7. Dawn says:

So I still don’t understand why reality actors have fans. And I mean that for ALL reality people. You can like them or not like them but fan to me is just too strong of a word. Thus being the case I cannot fathom sending money to any of these untalented people for any reason. Nope these two got themselves into it and they can pay to get themselves out.

    • Easi says:

Yes. I have been annoyed by this for ever. I’m resigned to hearing it now but it is ridiculous.

  8. Sixer says:

I have no idea who she is, but she’s made up like a pr0n star. If Z-list celebs are currently looking like pr0n stars, what on earth do pr0n stars look like these days? (Rhetorical question. I don’t actually want to know!)

    • Justpassingby says:

I find her so masculine-looking, and drag queen-ish!

      • Funtimes18 says:

Please don’t insult drag queens like that!!!! None of them would be caught DEAD looking that bad!

Let’s say, “Straight Man Who Likes to Dress in Drag as a Fetish”, but gets it all kinds of wrong!

  9. Samigirl says:

Disgusting. Maybe she could sell some of her furs or stop going on vacation all the damn time.

  10. brin says:

    No kickstarter for frauds.

  11. Shade says:

She has ‘millions of fans’??? Really???

  12. Gia says:

I’m feeling less and less sympathy for them and I mean that as a family unit. Their kids will be better off seeing their parents serve hard time for their greed and stupidity. These two people are deplorable.

  13. emmie_a says:

I hate these people. There was a story a few days ago about the police being called because they wouldn’t pay a $5 per person entrance fee to the beach. They were asked to pay and they started shouting and swearing and made the cashier cry. The police were called and the Giudice’s ended up paying the fee… What gets me is their skewed sense of entitlement. Don’t they realize that they are big piles of NOTHING? They don’t deserve special treatment just because they are on a shit reality show. I hope justice is served and they go to jail and learn to be humble.

    • lucy2 says:

Thanks for posting this – their “beach house” is in my town, which is actually on the mainland across the bridge from the beach. EVERYONE who lives in the area or goes to those beaches knows there’s a fee, always has been. You can buy a day, week, month, or season badge for varying prices. It helps pay for lifeguards and other things, and allows parking in the beach towns to be free.
The town they went to is right over the bridge, and was hit VERY hard by Sandy (several feet of water through the whole town, schools, municipal, fire company all majorly damaged). And these M’Fers thought they could cheat and not pay? With a group of 30 people! (who is hanging out with those scumbags anyway).
People can be really rude to the badge checkers, but rarely do I hear of the police being called. It must have been pretty bad.
These people are the WORST. I pity their children, but the adults need to pay for their crimes.

      • emmie_a says:

        Here’s the article…

        http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2403093/Teresa-Joe-Giudice-clash-police-refusing-pay-5-beach-entry-fee.html

The Giudices will steal and take take take anything they can get their hands on but will not (willingly) pay a (small) fee that they are legally obligated to pay; and They are such asses that the police have to be called — when I am sure the police have better things to do. Ugh.

      • Shiba says:

They had just paid 150 for 30 people down the beach and thought they were still in the same town. Once it was fully explained to them, they paid 150 AGAIN.
C’mon everybody – you’d get steamed too. $300 in beach fees in 2 hours?!

      • emmie_a says:

Shiba: Where did you read that version of the story? None of the stories I’ve read have mentioned having to pay twice. If it’s true I’m surprised their PR isn’t getting the story out there bc the original story just adds to their mounting image problems.

      • Lucy2 says:

I’m not buying the paid twice story. They’ve been coming to that beach for years, and the streets are marked when you cross into the next town.
If they paid the fees, left and came back, they should have known to go back in the same area they paid for. And if they somehow got confused and went elsewhere, why is that anyone’s problem but their own?
They cheat on everything, I don’t doubt for a minute they tried to cheat this too.

    • anne_000 says:

Yup. Rather than just paying the $5 or just going 2 a different beach, they’d rather bully the cashier & expect others 2 kowtow 2 them, resulting in police being called out. Anybody remember that incident on some vacation island when Teresa allegedly splashed champagne all over other customers at a restaurant & expected them to be OK w/ that? Resulting in police being called out? They’re just thugs & bullies.

  14. HK9 says:

So now who’s the “prostitution whore”? 🙂

  15. Maddie says:

I’m sick of people stating that they have four kids, like that’s an excuse for not going to jail for their crimes.

They had 3 of those four kids when they were filling out bogus W2’s and mortgage papers.

This is what suppose to happen when you commit a crime and get caught.

Plus why would people give them their own hard earn cash to grifters when they could give it to a more worthy cause.

    • emmie_a says:

Great point! I know people ask for leniency during their sentencing because they have kids and have to be there for their kids. So????? I hope judges don’t actually take that into consideration and give lesser sentences just because of the kids. Yes, kids are innocent and deserve their parents. BUT you still have to pay for your crime, no matter what.

As for the Giudices, I hope they both get jail sentences. And because they have four kids, the judge will most likely not sentence them to concurrent sentences so at least one parent can be with the kids.

      • holly hobby says:

This is a federal matter, not state so it’s based on the sentencing guidelines. I have never heard of leniency in a federal case – especially one involving tax and bankruptcy fraud. Those cases usually get the maximum sentences.

Of course, the best way is the just settle the cases with the govt – it doesn’t mean they will escape jail, jail is a foregone conclusion – it only means that they may go easy on the penalties if they settle.

  16. janie says:

Oh my, my. Donations? Seriously? The sad part is she will get it. I don’t understand people who feel so entitled to have anything they want while screwing whoever they can to get it. I think she’ll do time & not so they can make an example of this delicate flower, but because she’s guilty.

  17. Marisa says:

I don’t feel sorry for these two at.all. They’ve dug their own holes.
Anyone who donates to these two a-holes is just as much of an ass as they are.

  18. j78 says:

I would like to donate to her prosecution.

  19. d b says:

    Awful, not-nice people.

  20. Shiba says:

The bar employees took it apon themselves to organize & promote Theresa’s appearance as a “fundraiser”. She immediately disavowed it & said if people want to help, they can donate to a charity, NephCure.
    This story is TOTAL BS.

  21. Lauren says:

    BWAHAHAHA bitch, please.

  22. Rinny says:

Her hairline irritates the HECK OUT OF ME!

  23. henderswife says:

I had a ridiculous large widow’s peak on my hairline and I had it lasered off in my early twenties. Not cheap but totally worth it. She should do the same.

  24. mrspatrickbateman says:

This is untrue. Teresa is having a meet and greet at the bar and some employees took it upon themselves to start this ‘fund’. When Teresa was made aware of it she tweeted that while she appreciated the thought, if people wanted to support her they should instead donate money to charity and she loves Neph Cure.

  25. . It was not put out by her people, but by the staff and people of the establishment of which she had a previous obligation for a meet and greet. If you’re curious about the review of her twitter, perhaps you should review it. She addressed this and asked that people please take their donations and give them to a more worthy cause. Her suggestion was Nephcare. I love this site, but come on!

  26. Ibbubba says:

I think some good quality “Slammer Time” would benefit them both. they flaunt their wealth and don’t give a damn about anyone else til it comes time to ask their fans for money….disgusting.

  27. Ms.Martin says:

GREED !!!!!! This entire “housewives ” franchise is a disgrace … Where is the TRUE reality show about REAL housewives and REAL women and SINGLE MOTHERS for that matter ,who STRUGGLE every day ?!?!! Uuuuggghhhh … I’ll admit I too fell for some of these shows ,and the voyeuristic thrill .. But now I’m just ashamed to admit it!!!!!! All the money spent on employing these pigs !!!!!DISGUSTING !!!! Plus … She looks lie a man !!!!!!

  28. Natalie says:

I’ve never seen whatever show these two a-holes were on, but having read about them in the news lately for their defrauding the government- seriously, who still tries to do that? You can NEVER win against the government when you try to be shady with taxes. Ask Wesley Snipes or Lauryn Hill how well that worked out for them, and those two are ACTUAL talented stars, not reality trash grifters- and anyone who donates a single dime to these two pieces of human filth is just as gross as they are.

And using your kids as a ploy for sympathy? Please. If you gave a rat’s @ss about your kids, you wouldn’t have put them at risk by scamming and committing fraud. Don’t do the crime if you aren’t prepared to face the consequences when you get caught.

  29. hownowbrowncow says:

Remember, there are only three rules for your pet Giudices. No bright light, no feeding after midnight, and whatever you do, don’t get them wet.

  30. Denise says:

I didn’t know they have four kids. I feel so bad for them. So, the parents have been reckless with their family’s future for fame and being able to show off their ‘stuff’ and now they’re appealing to the sympathy of others because their kids will suffer? What evil turds. This is what happens when two a-holes meet, get married and have kids.

I will never get used to her face. And that ‘opposite of receding’ hairline.

  31. RdyfrmycloseupmrDvlle says:

Joe is crazy. She’s just greedy. I actually feel kinda sorry for her because I really dont think she actually understand what deep s**t she’s in. I think Joe concocted this whole scheme and assured her everybody lies on their papers and no one will be the wiser. Well, hello, your on TV folks! Kinda hard to ignore! You would imagine in this day and age its basic common sense not to f**k with our government. You will never win.

    • Holden says:

Ignorance is not a defense. No matter how stupid you are, I’m pretty sure something should click about spending less money once you go bankrupt.
