Furry Hugh Jackman covers Town & Country: would you hit it, always & forever?

“Always and forever” came to mind immediately when I saw this cover of Town & Country featuring the formidable Hugh Jackman. It also is the perfect way to describe Hugh’s relationship with his wife of 17 years, that lucky bitch Deborra-Lee Furness. I honestly don’t dislike Deborra-Lee despite how jealous I am of her. There’s something so sweet about her relationship with Hugh, and I can’t hear enough about the two of them. I love it when they talk about each other and when Deb humble brags about Hugh. They adore each other, and it comes across as genuine to me and not like they’re trying to prove anything. So that’s why I particularly enjoyed this interview. Here’s some of what they told Town & Country, with more at the source. The article is primarily a profile of Hugh and Deborra, and they only give a few good quotes:

On trying to wait 6 months to propose to Deborra but only lasting four
“I decided, I won’t ask her to marry me for six months. Then after four months I thought, That’s the most ridiculous rule!”

Deborra on her charity work
“I’m working with Americans to create an international campaign to shine a light on the fact that there are 153 million orphans in the world. If that were a country, it would be the ninth-largest in the world, just ahead of Russia.”

Deborra on if she likes Hugh with a beard
“I do. But I like him clean-shaven. But I like him all ways: chubby, muscley, skinny. I’m always having affairs. Don’t make that headline.”

[From Town & Country]

I like Hugh with a beard, but one that’s much more close cut than this. He definitely needs to shave his neck. That said, these are some sexy photos, right? I want to smack that hand, unless it’s Deborra’s hand, in which case I’ll grudgingly tolerate it. Damn that hand model.

Oh and Town & Country points out that Jackman earned $55 million last year, making him the third highest paid actor behind Robert Downey Jr. and Channing Tatum. He certainly earned it. The Wolverine cleaned up at the box office.

These are photos of Hugh in Japan on 8-27-13 (he shaved the beard!) and outside the Late Show on 7-23. Credit: WENN.com Magazine photos credit: Joe Puhliese/Town & Country

If you’re going to have a beard, you might as well have a scruffy one. I dislike those prissy trimmed things. Beard? That’s not a beard. I’m beginning to see that blokes and bloke things, like beards, aren’t popular in America. (I won’t lower the tone by making beard puns).

Yes. I would. Hit it. Always and forever.

    • TheyPromisedMeBeer says:

Heeeeeey – please don’t let Hollywood or the magazines fool you. American men know how to grow beards. I could write out a dissertation and defense, but will refer you instead to a beautiful gem called “Duck Dynasty”.

  4. T.Fanty says:

Mmmm. The beard is having that kind of “seeing velvet” effect on me, where I just want to stroke it.

    • Anna says:

There are other parts of him that are getting stroked first, at least by me. But seriously, could this man be any more charming?

  5. bokaki says:

I found Deborra’s comment so sweet: “I like him all ways: chubby, muscley, skinny. I’m always having affairs.”
And yes,I would hit it alway and forever!

  6. Agnes says:

Short answer to that is yes. Long answer is f*uck yes

  7. lou says:

I dunno…being an Aussie I really dont think hes so attractive to us gals over here I think they..Hugh and Deborah have just cashed in on the American scene…I dont find them at all genuine and I hate the beard.

    • m says:

It’s funny you say that Lou. I’m Canadian and have also lived in Australia and the UK and I think is a little sad that all of these three countries love to hate homegrown talent who make it big in the US.

When they first get success in the US we cheer them on, but if it continues we seem to decide that they have gotten “too big for their britches” and start to cut them down.

I think he is an amazing Aussie export and love how grounded he seems, considering his incredible success. I think he sets a great example in Hollywood of how not let superstardom go to your head.

I have a long running subscription to T&C so I will be ecstatic when this issue arrives in the mail!

I read “Furry Hugh Jackman” and for some reason, I think of a Hugh Jackman muppet. Which gives me an idea … *looks for Hiddles*

    • j.eyre says:

Well, there goes my plans for the morning. I’ll look in this room. *whistles and snaps fingers*

(I don’t really need to answer the “would I hit it” question, do I? We all kind of know where I would go with that one?)

I have never been so jealous of a hand in my life.

  10. Tessa says:

He’s flawless to me. So incredibly handsome, and that body…. Hold me!

  11. Serenitynow says:

I suppose to some people the two of them talking about their relationship would be over kill. They have been around while. Hugh is just staring to make the A list and the tabloids. But if I was Deb, I would be like “bitches better recognize- that’s my man”. Yes I too would hit it.

    • Mel says:

I kind of feel that their interviews are overkill. I am not in the “she is too plain” camp myself. And it is offensive that in not looking like Jolie she is branded a beard. However, why on earth are they doing so many interviews together? RDJ and his wife have a similar producer type relationship, how often are they going on about their marriage?

      • Jay says:

Have you seen RDJ’s interview on Inside the Actors Studio? He adores his wife to pieces and isn’t afraid to show it.

  12. AustinMJ says:

    Yes. Always. Forever.

  13. serena says:

‘But I like him clean-shaven. But I like him all ways: chubby, muscley, skinny. I’m always having affairs.’ Yep. I totally get her.

And yes, always and forever. I just love him.

  14. Mabs says:

But he does musicals. 😐 lol

  15. MAC says:

No I see him as a family man. Glad he is happy.

  16. LovesGossip says:

Hugh and Deborra Lee do so many interviews together because he has to sell the “straight happy family man” image to the public. Anyone with an adequate functioning brain can tell the man is GAY.

    • Mindy says:

Well, he is definitely fighting the perception that he is gay. Whether he actually is or isnt is another question

Between the joint interviews and dispatching his wife to claim that gay talk bothers her, its pretty clear that he is on a PR offensive.

  17. Shannon says:

Would I hit it…WOULD I HIT IT??? Ahhh yes I would. He’s so hot!!!

  18. NorthernGirl_20 says:

Yes yes yes always and forever!!

  19. Diana says:

The answer is yes. I would hit it forever and always. God, that man is H-O-T. And Deborra IS a very lucky woman to have just as he is lucky to have her. They are so swwet. I’m so jealous.

  20. bluhare says:

    Rhetorical question, right?

  21. Natasha says:

How did The Wolverine cleaned up at the box office?

It cost $120 Million and only made $358 Million worldwide.

  22. FartSack says:

I would hit it till the died one of us died…and then I would consider something else to do.

  23. Jane says:

I just turned 49 today and would love this man as my present. I don’t care if he is clean shaven or not—LOVE-ME-SOME-HUGH!!!!

  24. vv says:

I love this guy. I finally seen Les Misérables the other night and I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would. There is one part in the church when he is singing about leaving the past behind etc, and I almost couldn’t stand how awesome he was.
