Ben Affleck is like using the N-word - it’s not the act itself but the getting away with it. It’s not about sex or paying for sex but something in him that is attracted to the lurid in the worse way of a golden boy with the wife and the kids on ponies with a taste for more than the unknown. There’s something wrong with his eyes. I also never trusted Bill Clinton either. I knew he wasn’t going to end up with JLO, I didn’t care about that whole Bennifer thing when it was happening but for the sake of truth, I HOPED that they would stay together. Alas.

One additional thing that I dont get here is that people are openly classifying such behavior as a mistake. They then go on to say, it is better to make those mistakes then not.
Well, if you KNOW it is a mistake to do it, why do it??
(I’m not being particular to any behavior, I am highlighting the train of thought here)
That is rather ignorant, and actually, immature, compared to knowing when and where to draw the line on your behavior, and knowing what to and not to do, regardless of your impulses, temptation, or social reactions etc.
Also to kick a dead horse further, yes there are women who think similar to the men in this post, either by their own initiative, or, they are actually cajoled into believing what the men tell them. But, there is still the 2% of women who DONT think the way the men do, and THEY ARE entitled to disagree, whether you think it places them higher or lower than you on the ethical ladder.
The world is full of different people. Please just dont tell anyone to change themselves, to make you happy. Dont mess with other peoples minds or tell them to alter their standards, to console your bruised ego. THAT is really the selfish way to live; whereas I move on when I see something -ethically- that rubs me the wrong way in another person. I dont tell them to change their mind for me. I dont expect them to make ME more comfortable or secure. I am in charge of that, not others.
I just leave, I just exclude them rather than attempt to manipulate them to my own liking.
In my eyes, that is actually the kinder thing to do, and that is why I do it.

My point is clear as day; pretending certain behaviors are morally neutral when performed by certain men of a certain age when they clearly are not and then dismissively telling a person who is hurt and disappointed by such behavior that they have no right or basis to feel hurt and disappointed is manipulative, mean and for lack of a better word, retarded. Fortunatly, only a moron would fall for this sentiment which in essence boils down to the following: “All men stick it to hookers, treat women like kleenex and engage in copious promoscusity in their 20s - it is just a reality get over it you fat prudes! Accept the inherent affront to your esteem and conscience and keep your mouth shut! Just wait around until they are done humiliating themselves, your gender and you - it is not indicitive of poor character. Seriously.”

I mean, who are you trying to fool here? Just because you say I have no right to be upset does not mean it is true. If you want to sleep with a hooker, be my guest, but don’t try to convince anyone with a 3 digit IQ that this is not morally questionble behavior and extremely low class to boot. I understand that certain people want to valid thier poor choices and be told it is okay for them to behave like trash but get a reality check. There are consequences in life when you engage in morally questionable ways. One such consequence is hurting and disppointing the people you love.

It doesn’t mean that you can’t learn from your mistakes and move on. It doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t be forgiven but let’s call a spade a spade here.

And for the record, you’re right. I would not be with a man who has slept with a prostitute. That is a deal breaker. We all have deal breakers - I’m sure even ChrisX has a couple deal-breakers.

No, Peter, she started off talking about a double standard, which is sexism. Chris took it to the “every guy does this” level, which I find ridiculous. As I mentioned before, everyone makes mistakes. But Chris was essentially saying, boys will be boys and we shouldn’t expect anything better, which is a very unfair and dangerous sentiment. I assume that you’d all love a skanky twentysomething Affleck to date your sister, your mom, or your daughter?

I am the one that discussed his Chris’s specific language, basically, showing how he meant to be offensive.

So there. I’m not changing, I think I’m right, and the world goes ’round. Besides, my horse is too high for me to hear you.

If true, and I think it probably is, that was not a one time event. He was seen with another woman and buying drugs in the Boston area right after his engagement to Garner. In addition, there have been several mentions of him and other women and drugs post-marriage. Don’t kid yourself, Affleck, is street smart and very discrete as well as having the money to buy silence.

c’mon, you just know that there are a bijillion tales of nookie in the naked city. the director’s couch is a very real thing and still in operation…to get acting jobs women have to fuck their way up (lol) the ladder in many cases. it does fuck them up, too im sure, or maybe not.
one time there were some girls who got together and talked about their exes.
