Jennifer Aniston claims she & Justin use an ‘equal amount’ of Living Proof products

Call me crackie, but lately I’ve been noticing more and more when Jennifer Aniston wears hairpieces, extensions and weaves. When she made her appearances at TIFF this past weekend, she was not wearing any hairpieces that I can see, and look at her hair – it’s thinner than usual, sleeker, flatter, less damaged-looking. What I’m saying is that while I sometimes like Aniston’s various haircuts, at this point, I’m kind of meh on her famous hair. I think it used to be thick and wavy and bouncy, but years of bleach, flat-ironing and obsessive blow-outs have given her the hair she always wanted: Gwyneth Paltrow’s. Flat, straight, sort of damaged looking. Anyway, if you’re wondering why we’re talking about Aniston’s hair again, it’s because she’s talking about her hair again in a new Redbook interview (which reads like a Living Proof infomercial):

REDBOOK: When did you decide that sleek, straight hair was your look?
Jennifer Aniston: When I was a little girl, I had long, straight hair with bangs, and my mom always said, “You’re not allowed to cut your hair until you’re 13.” I mean, I would get trims. [After 13] I unleashed myself on my hair: I cut it every possible way. But ever since then, I have been trying to get my long, straight hair back.

RB: People often assume shorter hair is easier to manage. But with long hair, you can just air-dry and go.
JA: Um, that’s my everyday! I usually shape the hair around my face with my fingers—just twist it and then refine it with a brush and let it air-dry. I use Living Proof Amp² styling cream [she’s a co-owner of the brand], or I’ll put it in two braids if I want a sort of manageable curl.

RB: Who uses more hair products, you or your fiancé [Justin Theroux]?
JA: I think we use an equal amount. He uses whatever is in the shower, and Living Proof products are what’s there. He likes the Living Proof Amp² too.

RB: Now that you wear an engagement ring, do you feel like you have to constantly have manicured nails?
JA: I do, and I’m so mortified because I have a chipped nail right now. Hopefully you’ll forgive me for it.

RB: Of course! Is there a nail polish you especially like?
JA: I’m a natural girl. But I go bolder on my toes.

RB: You always look bronzed. Do you use self-tanner?
JA: I like the L’Oréal [Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Towelettes]. They’re great. My confession is that [my color currently] is from the sun, with a bit of body makeup. I do have sunspots. I used to have such flawless skin, I really did.

RB: Is there any makeup trend you’d never try?
JA: Red lips. Super-bleached blondes—like Gwen Stefani—can get away with it, but it’s tough to pull off with my color.

RB: Any beauty secrets to share?
JA: Put Vaseline on your eyes at night—all over. It helps condition your lashes. My mom taught me that. And my girlfriend told me years ago that if you wake up with puffy eyes, you can put Preparation H underneath them. It’s amazing. And I used to not know how to blow-dry my hair, but I learned how to do it with a big round brush to get into the root and the crown.

RB: If you had to give up everything else and choose just one…
JA: Job?

RB: I was going to say makeup product. But what job?
JA: It’s so far from anything I do now, but I would love to be an interior designer. I’m almost finished with my next house—it’s an expensive habit, but I love it!

[From Redbook]

Do you think Mr. Hardcore Theroux is okay with Jennifer using his name to shill Living Proof? Wouldn’t it be great if she was like, “Justin loves Living Proof so much, he swears by it! It’s the only brand he uses to deal with his bald spot!” Love a good testimonial, I guess. Other than that… eh. Jennifer is paying lip service to the kind of grooming habits I have – I let my hair air-dry every single day (I don’t use any products though). I don’t wear nail polish on my fingernails, but anything goes for the toenails. I’ve heard the Vaseline trick too and my mom does that, but I just use my favorite Oil of Olay night cream under my eyes.

Also – The Daily Mail had a funny story about Jennifer’s “secret” half-brother Alex “AJ” Aniston. AJ and Jennifer share the same father. Anyway, AJ is totally punk now and having Jennifer for a big sister ruins his punk rep, just as his punk ‘tude ruins her wholesome, mainstream rep. AJ only made some brief comments to The Mail (while he was attending Burning Man) and he said, “It’s been happening since middle school (people asking about Jennifer). It’s been a pain in my ass for years. No comment.”

Have to agree with the remark about the bright red lipstick. IMO, that plus bleached blonde hair is not the look you should be going for when you are 40+ — looks trashy, cheap and overdone.

    • pp says:

Amen to that. Plus how is this woman famous for her hair. It’s fine, looks unhealthy. This shade is dishwater blond

  2. Andrea1 says:

These pictures aren’t doing her any favours!

  3. MegG says:

Love the quote from the brother about her being a “pain in the ass!”

    • Cecilia says:

      @ MegG

It’s not ‘her’ being a pain in the ass — it’s being constantly asked asked about her that is a pain.

  4. Mindy says:

How is AJ? Because I am getting an angry adolescent vibe off that quote and its giving me the giggles.

  5. emmie_a says:

I think after she became famous because of the Rachel cut she started using insane extensions and wiglets and whatever to make it look like she had ultra fabulous hair and thus her hair became even more of a focus — when in reality, the hair we see now has likely been closer to what her natural hair was all along (minus the color).

    • Sullivan says:

Hair, hair, hair. Jennifer Aniston has hair. She was married to an A+ list actor. She was on a hugely popular sitcom in the 90s. Hair, hair, hair.

      • janie says:

I agree! I’m so sick of her & her 90’s hair, the continual reference to Pitt & last, but not least… Friends!!!! Go away!

  6. toto says:

The guy is creepy as hell, yesterday huffington post covered part of GQ Mag.
He said he collects people teeth , he has a dentist friend who collect themfor him and keep them in a box.
She might be about image and products but still better than this creepy .

This interview is so blank, as if I did not read it. She needs better way to advertise her products.

    • Andrea1 says:

My God I just read that now! And its creeping Me out what does he keep them for?

    • Esmom says:

It’s not really an interview, it’s an informercial. And I got the sense that even JA was bored with it, as she tried to steer the question from “beauty products” to “jobs.” I think she knows how shallow it all seems.

  7. doofus says:

not too surprising. wasn’t he kind of a metrosexual even before he hooked up with Aniston?

Though I find Theroux kinda hot, I can’t imagine sitting with the bf and talking hair care products.

  8. Bex says:

Stay out of the sun! She’s turning into a handbag and her skin & hair color is so off now. Also not digging that harsh black eye liner, it is making her eyes look kind of beedy.

So weird she’s a spokesperson for hair care and skin products. I can’t look at her and think “I want what she’s using”.

    • Maggie says:

She’s forty four not twenty four so she’s bound to show some age. I think she looks fabulous, really pretty in these pictures. I would love to see what some of you look like. She’s a comedic actress and is wildly successful and not because of who her ex was. Her career would have died long ago if that were the case. The writer is so objective and the sheep follow. Ridic!

      • jamie says:

Cut it out with the personal attacks on posters! You’d love to see how the look! You want their SSN next? I’m sure there’s better looking and worse looking people who don’t like Jen because she’s just a blob.

      • Teapot says:

Why are you so hyper sensitive? Bex didn’t even mention the ex.

  9. Hannah says:

This is my new favorite thing. Giving a comment, only to end it with “No comment.” This AJ kid is hilarious!

  10. Andrea1 says:

But how can she represent a skin care and hair care brand. And she has damaged skin and hair I can’t look at her and say I would want to use them because of her. There are lots of celebs with very good skin and hair. She is absolutely the wrong choice

    • Josephine says:

I believe she owns a piece of the company.

But I totally agree. Her hair is awful lately, although I never thought it was all that. It has always looked frosted and damaged to me. I never thought it looked healthy, but now I would have to say that her hair is close to a liability. It needs a solid cut and she should stop with the color.

  11. Evyn says:

She should be sued for false advertising. Her hair looks waaaay different than it does in her print ads.

  12. epiphany says:

Mortified because of a chipped nail.
Yeah, that’s pretty much all the adversity this woman could cope with; G-d forbid something really terrible happened – like sweat stains!
Oh yeah, “natural girl” – first of all, there’s nothing natural about you, and secondly, you’re 20 years past being a girl – you’re a middle aged WOMAN!

  13. Hypocrisy says:

Her skin shows premature aging and severe sun damage leather skin.

Plus, she is a woman, so she uses tricks to lessen the real state of her skin.

Her bare one is probably worse that what we see in pictures.

    • tracking says:

She acknowledges the suns spots yet continues the sun worship. I don’t get it. Most women I know in their 40s start slathering on sun block after the first or second sun spot.

    • Birdix says:

She’s in her mid-40s! That aging is not premature…

  14. blue marie says:

my only complaint about her in these photos is the all around eye-liner makes her look rough, ages her more.

as for the rest, I agree with most of it. my mom would not let me cut my hair until I was about 13 either, now I wish I had never started cutting it. It reached my hips, was curly and thick.

    • mia girl says:

Yeah, that all around eyeliner it just too much. She has nice eyes, but the black is too jarring.

      • Esmom says:

Yes, the black liner was a misstep. I like her usual makeup, which is more fresh and natural looking. It seems like someone convinced her to try to be more edgy.

      • Camille (TheOriginal) says:

The black eyeliner makes her eyes look closer together than ever. Not a good look.

  15. Madpoe says:

Sorry. My coffee wasn’t strong enough to keep me from nodding off reading about her…brb….

  16. DenG says:

Can’t stand her alien blue contacts. And what is her hipster guy going to look like in a few years with black hair? Travolta?

  17. lisa2 says:

I don’t think she has done and actual interview since that Vogue one. Everything else are these infomercials for her endorsements or she is “interviewed” by some friend or co-star. Just shows again she has nothing to talk about. NOTHING.

And I have suspected for a while now that she wears body makeup. Look at her neck. She is covered in makeup.

Nothing else to say because..well nothing of interest.

    • Virgilia Coriolanus says:

Yeah, confessing to wearing body makeup in an interview when you’re doing commercials about how amazing your skin is (presumably) is not a good move. She’s pretty much saying that she doesn’t use aveeno and/or it doesn’t do what it said. At least that’s implied…..

I still giggle over that commercial, as it plays CONSTANTLY on Hulu.

      • Andrea1 says:

Yes she just confirmed she isn’t using Aveeno or that it isn’t working for her! She should be fired as the brand representative I wonder what they were thinking hiring her in the first place. She was a wrong choice. It doesn’t matter if she owns stock in the company…

      • Cecilia says:

She was a wrong choice…she should be fired??

I suggest you write a strongly worded letter…

  18. JustaGirl says:

I’m not a fan of hers, but I love Living Proof products! They actually manage to control my hair in our 99% humidity Southern summers (okay, maybe it only feels that bad most days). 🙂

    • Cecilia says:

      I know, right?

I am a product junkie & take great delight in trying out new products. I have to admit, Living Proof delivers. Another good hair product is the one Katie Holmes reps. Alterna. Their Bamboo line is incredible.

  19. AMLM says:

She’s looking old in these pictures

    • Virgilia Coriolanus says:

It’s the tanning and the harsh makeup. Whoever did her makeup for that premiere must really hate her, because it looks awful. And the area around her mouth and chin (skin wise) has been looking weird to me for the past few years–kind of plasticky, like a mask almost at some points.

I don’t understand why she tans so much–her original skin color was sooo much better, and it doesn’t take genius to figure out that tanning ages you horribly.

      • Birdix says:

Maybe she loves the sun and doesn’t care?

      • Virgilia Coriolanus says:

Well she’s obviously trying to get rid of some of the damage, because she’s said in previous interviews (this past year) that she gets lasers to get rid of the worst of the damage, and so on. But how hard is it to put sunscreen on?

And if she didn’t care about the sun spots, she wouldn’t be wearing makeup to hide them.

  20. Kay says:

@maggie and birdix,so now you gyz belief in ageing?hahahaha.I have nothing more to say because i wouldn’t have known this lady existed if i didn’t come on this site to read about angelina jolie.

    • Maggie says:

Well she probably looks better at her age than most on here will at forty four. Oh and an AJ idolizer too. That makes you objective.

      • Virgilia Coriolanus says:

Well everyone is objective, so there’s that….

I don’t think she looks any better or worse for someone her age–but I don’t get why she exercises so much, eats the same (very healthy) diet for years, but drinks like a fish, and tans. That’s a bit of a contradiction. That goes against her healthy, yoga and beach loving California girl image.

At least she’s not full on Goop about it…

      • Teapot says:

One can ‘idolize’ AJ and still be objective. Some even like both. I know thats not a concept JA idolizers support, but its not only an either/or concept for many. Only with JA fans it is.

    • Cecilia says:

Gosh Kay…you really need to get out more.

  21. ann h says:

    She’s sooo deep. (giggle)
She’s living proof that your skin can look like drywall, have thin, whispy, flyaway split ends on your head, put your face with a product and expect people to buy it from the “Beautiful Jennifer Aniston.”
    Give me a break.
I don’t care for J Lo but she would have been a better choice.

  22. Kay says:

@cecelia,i know many hollywood actors and actresses famous in africa and she’s def not one of them.
