Blake Lively was in Milan to kick off their Fashion Week at the Gucci show yesterday. These are photos of Blake wearing a new Gucci dress in mustard leather, about to go into the show. She got to sit beside Anna Wintour. Of course she did. I have to say, I’m kind of hoping for some drama out of Milan Fashion Week. London Fashion Week was extremely boring – it was even worse than NY Fashion Week, as far as photos and celebrity-attendees went. Even the Burberry show – usually one of the biggest, most A-list events during LFW – was lost in the coverage because no one A-list really came to the show. You could say that it’s a good thing, that people are now free to focus on the clothes instead of the celebrities. But have you heard much about the Burberry S/S line? Not so much.
As for Blake in this leather dress… I feel like she’s really trying to make mustard a thing. Mustard is not a thing. Michelle Williams came the closest to getting mustard on the map with her 2006 Oscar dress, but this is like the second or third time Blake has worn mustard for a major outing. I don’t get it. Why fight so hard for mustard? It’s a color that only blondes can wear, and even then, you have to be a certain kind of blonde to make it work. Also: the leather looks especially stiff around the bust, either that or Blake’s tatas just look especially fake these days. Those are like Barbie Boobs in this dress.
By the way, Blake and Ryan Reynolds just celebrated their first wedding anniversary last week. Aren’t you surprised that she’s not knocked up yet? I’m surprised by that. I’m guessing Ryan is surprised by that too.

I do not hate the mustard leather whatsoever. Full disclosure though, my first year in high school was 1989 – 1990.
I usually dont care for her style but I think she looks fabulous here but she is very skinny.

Agree! I love this dress and I don’t mind Blake or anyone else trying to make mustard a thing. I’m brunette and wear a lot of mustard and I actually get a lot of positive comments in all shades of yellow/orange/mustard.
It really depends on your individual coloring. I’m Addams family pale with dark eyes/hair, with a big dramatic contrast, so mustard/yellow/orange will always look hideous on me(black, red and navy blue are the best). Somebody with warmer coloring even as a brunette could rock it probably.

I agree that I love the style – very classy – but it DOES look too tight to me. Look at the creases on the front of the bottom from straining to fit around her (size 2) torso. Maybe it’s just the material? It looks too small to be comfortable.

To me, the fact that we can see the outline of each thigh when she’s standing still is an indicator that it’s a teensy bit too tight. Still an improvement over Boobs McLegsly stylin’.

Her the color is great on her, I like her accessories, I like her side part, I like her red lippy and she looks so darned happy and carefree that it makes me happy just to look at her. But I think the outfit is a bit too tight in the skirt, you can see the outline of her underwear but I guess at least she is wearing some???

Ok seems like I’m the only one — but I’m not impressed with this look. I’ve liked a lot of her looks in the past but I don’t like this… I don’t like her hair flat ironed and I don’t know – something is just off.

She looked great. And i’ll be the first to admit i think her show of maturity and transition from YA to now has been surprising and positive. You can’t make up negative things to say bc she’s moved into her new role quite nicely. She looked great here – there’s a new aura around her. She’s got the right team/support working with her. Carrying herself in such a stand out why… whether you like the color of her dress or not, she shoulders say “watch out bitch… I’m coming.” while smiling at the camera. You go Girl!!

She looks stunning – and I gotta say that mustard IS a thing, I am a blue eyed brunette and always get compliments when I wear a mustard coat. This is a much better look than her over sparkly Marchesa stuff.
