If you’re familiar at all with Lamar Odom, you know that his father Joe was not around whatsoever for most of his life. Joe was (and is?) a drug addict and a user who only re-entered Lamar’s life when Lamar started making money. Now that Lamar seems to be in the midst of his own addiction issues, Joe has chosen to speak out. Guess who Joe blames for Lamar’s downfall? Well, Joe doesn’t blame himself. Some highlights from Joe’s new interview:
He said: “Someone’s got to speak out, I’ve got to do something about this. It’s simple. They brought him down. He would be better off without them. Let him go and get his life together. I think the best thing for him would be to have a clean break, divorce Khloe and as a single man try and get his life back together.”
But Joe thinks Lamar’s drug problems are being hyped up by the Kardashian family, especially momager Kris, whom he thinks is trying to push Lamar out as it’s ruining their image!
He says: “The mother has been talking a lot of trash about my son, saying he’s on drugs and stuff like that. She’s got something against my son, something against my family. Kris Jenner is very negative. She’s an evil b*tch. She doesn’t care about Lamar, she just cares about their image and money.”
When asked if the Kardashians take drugs, Joe said: “I blame Kris in particular, she’s been through a lot of stuff herself. She’s no Cinderella. I can’t really say if the Kardashians are doing drugs, but my son would never use hard drugs. I can’t pinpoint right now who’s giving it him, but I’m going to investigate. The Kardashians haven’t been a good influence on my son. They don’t give a f*ck about my son. It’s more about the damage they do to the Kardashian brand. They brought him down. He’d be better off without them. Let him go, get his life together.”
He said: “I wish he had never got married to Khloe to be honest. She’s controlling. Those Kardashian women all are. You get married they think they wear the pants. You just bring them your whole paycheck, that’s how it works. I saw her totally differently when I heard the way she talked privately. It isn’t pleasant. In public she’s nice, but if you see her personally you see the real person come out of her. The mother’s like that too. The whole family, they put up an act.”
He said: “They haven’t been a good influence on my son. It’s been the curse of his life. He hasn’t really accomplished anything since he’s been with them. Without them, he’d still be in the NBA playing basketball. He’d be playing for the Lakers and be one of the top players in the league.” The 59-year-old says that if they end up getting divorced he believes it will eat into Lamar’s $56 million fortune, adding: “I guess he will have to pay her. He married her. You know how that goes.”
“I heard Kim say they don’t have crackheads in their family. That *issed me off. Look at where she came from. We don’t want porno stars in our family,” adds Joe.
Joe says: “I love my son dearly, but my advice to him would be: Leave the drugs alone. If he is abusing drugs, he’s got to stay straight and get his life together. Go into rehab. If it is crack he is taking, he’s got to get help. They’ve got to get him treatment. Nobody’s perfect. I would like him to get his act together. If something’s wrong he’s got to man up and talk about what’s going on with him.”
I was expecting that interview to simply hang out there, without anyone saying anything about it. But it seems like the interview upset Lamar Odom, so Lamar spoke out in defense of his wife and her family:

After weeks of being shadowed by reports of infidelity, drug abuse and marrital woes, the husband of reality star Khloé Kardashian took to Twitter on Tuesday to speak out against his father, Joe Odom, who blamed his daughter-in-law and her family for his son’s troubles in an interview.
“He wasn’t there 2 raise me,” Odom, 33, wrote on his Twitter page. “That man wasn’t even invited to my wedding. He has never met my mother in law and some of my other family. How can a man who has NOT once called me to check on my well being have the nerve to talk so recklessly about his own ‘son.’ ”
The athlete, who is not currently signed to a team, admits he has been going through a “dark time,” but slams reports his wife and her family have been anything but supportive.
“He disrespecting the ONLY FAMILY that has loved me without expecting anything in return,” he wrote. “They are the ONLY ones that have been here consistently 4 me … Say what you want about me but leave the ones who have done nothing but protect and love me out of this!”
Before news broke of Odom’s troubles, a source told PEOPLE the couple – who will mark their fourth wedding anniversary this Friday – had planned to renew their vows. Instead, Kardashian, 29, and Odom have been living separately since he was charged earlier this month with a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence and checked in and out of rehab after a day.
I think this is so sad. I mean, I have no sympathy for Lamar’s father, but I’m reserving some judgment on Lamar. He’s going through some crap, for sure, and while I think some of the crap is Kardashian-induced (Kris Jenner loves to leak to TMZ), I also think that Lamar and Khloe did love each other, and Lamar especially loved Rob Kardashian too (they were like brothers). Lamar had some semblance of a support system, and now he’s defending that support system.

God lord. This entire thing has gone off the rails. My take is Lamar just needs to get as far away from the Kardashian’s as he can, get help and focus on his life before they drag him down further. EVERYONE knows it’s Kris that has put out all the negative media regarding Lamar.
Nobody dragged Lamar down but himself, and no one can drag him back up but himself. He seems to recognize that and take responsibility for himself, even if others don’t.

It is tremendously sad that the only real family he has had has been the Kardashians. It sounds like a lose lose situation between the absent father and his toxic surrogate family. He should dispense with all of them and focus on himself. Everyone seems to be using him for their own agendas.

I do not believe for a minute Lamar actually wrote those statements on twitter. It was Khoey or PMK using Lamar’s twitter account. I highly doubt Lamar is defending the Kardashians after what they have done to him.

I’m with you. I noticed there is not word one in his reply that mentions his children and that is so KrapTrashian to deny that there are children from other women. Besides there have been rumors for months that Khloe has been messin with The Game and not missing Lamar all that much. She just wants the BRAND to look good because that is all that matters to any good Karda$hian. I believe Lamar’s dad any day over a Kardashian or Kris Jenner. And I am pretty sure all the KrapTrashian girls have white powder up their nose at one time or another just based on who they hang with. I don’t buy this.
Why doubt him? He’s not lying. The Kardashians have been there and supported him. He would denounce them if they weren’t. If he’s a drug addict, it’s his doing not theirs. Just because you don’t like them, it’s no reason to twist the facts and make them out to be monsters.

He looks so scary skinny. Until he completes rehab, no team would take a chance on him. He should get his shit together, kick the habit and go play ball in Europe for a few years. I think Khloe and rob really love Lamar. His dad has no right to say hit and probably only did for a paycheck. I remember Lamar saying something about that on the show, that his father had sold stories and always only wanted money, so it was better to keep him distant and send him an allowance. Sad.
I’m torn. I doubt Lamar’s dad is a source of credible information and yet I can see everything he said as possibly being true. Dad honestly needs to shut up up though.
I agree with all of this, I know that his whole absentee dad thing should negate anything he says but that family really is messed up.

I’d like to think that she’s wearing her ring as a way to say get your act together and I’ll be here. However it’s being reported that she’s filming scenes with and without her ring. This whole thing is going to play out humphries style on the next season.
Is she sad? Probably. Will she do what’s best for business? Most likely.

No, I meant going from tweet speak using 2 and 4 to using verbiage like ‘well being’ and ‘recklessly’, and quotes. This tweet took a long time to write, it is very thoughtful. I am team Lamar and hope he gets help soon but this sounds like a PR person trying to sound like him.

Actually, I think you make a great point. Re-reading it does sound like it was written by a woman or least someone disconnected from the real emotions of the situation like a PR professional. NOT because is heartfelt and emotional but because it doesn’t really read how most Men would speak AND thats what I have noticed about twitter everyone writes how the speak.

couple of things that keep falling off the radar–Lamar is a notorious cheater and put his children’s mother through hell just to end up with Khloe and leave her and the kids hanging. he has always had many side pieces and continued to do so through his marriage. Khloe hired private detectives to track him for a YEAR…this is not a strong marriage full of love and tight bonds. she was gathering information to suck every penny she can when they head for divorce. Khloe and her mother have stormed him at hotel rooms and other women’s apartments…Lamar IS THE PROBLEM. as vapid and meaningless as I find the Kardashians, they are not the ones making him commit repeat infidelities and light up the crack pipe. the only thing the Kardashian’s are interested in (INCLUDING KHLOE) is damage control on their image…i.e., $$$ lost on their brand. period. Joe is an ass but he’s not totally wrong here.and I agree that Lamar’s tweet is very contrived and doesn’t seem directly from him.
Honestly if Lamar wants to get healthy and he and Khloe’s marriage to work they have to get away from both their toxic families.
I think that Khloe and Lamar genuinely love each other and I hope they can settle this sticky situation they are in.
But these are a few things Khloe and Lamar has to do to grow past this and move on:
1. Lamar has to come clean and stay clean. Everyone has made mistake, so don’t blame others for your irresponsible actions. It is not a good look on your part.
and 2. Khloe needs to step away from her family. I think she is the wisest one of the family and I would love to see her succeed with little of her families help. I love the way she thinks and she has a good head on her shoulders.
But if she was really thinking to get ahead, would it be fantastic if she is a manager just like her mom. So that way she can manage herself and hopefully people who can follow along with her.
Lamar was in court this year caught snoozing & had to be woken up by a court guard , you think he was modifying visitation custody & child support because khloe says so, or baby momma knows he is a crackhead absentee father who doesn’t want to pay or be a active present father.children aren’t bills or scheduling conflicts they are human beings .his daughter tried to commit suicide where’s her father oh he is out doing him with khloe on his a$$ .
