These are pictures of artist Amber Heard on the set of her new movie, London Fields. This is her first turn as a leading lady since (correct me if I’m wrong) All the Boys Love Mandy Lane. This latest movie sounds … kind of awful from the synopsis: “Clairvoyant femme fatale Nicola Six has been living with a dark premonition of her impending death by murder. She begins a tangled love affair with three uniquely different men: one of whom she knows will be her murderer.” The movie costars Theo James, Jim Sturgess, and Billy Bob Thornton. I’ve included some photos of Billy Bob at the bottom of this post. He’s looking a little less Botoxed than usual, which is good.
Amber’s been pretty quiet lately. She did all sorts of promotion and graced a ton of magazine covers to promote her role in Paranoia, and then that movie flopped. Liam Hemsworth is not a leading man, and Amber doesn’t pick movies that end up doing well at the box office. Even last weekend’s Machete Kills ended up failing miserably with a $3.8 million opening weekend. Considering her status as the next Angelina might be in jeopardy, do you think she’d have the nerve to start acting like a diva? You know, because she’s dating Johnny Depp. The Mail claims to have the evidence:
Now she’s dating Hollywood A-lister Johnny Depp, actress Amber Heard seems to think she can act like a superstar too.
The 27-year-old, right, allegedly threw a tantrum on-set while filming a scene for thriller London Fields, after complaining that a group of onlookers was distracting her.
“There were some people watching the shoot outside, then Amber came out to film,” an on-set spy said.
“Right in the middle of the scene she stopped and said, ‘How am I supposed to do this when all I can see is that guy in my eyeline?’ Next thing, they put up a screen so Amber could film her scene without any distractions.”

This actually doesn’t sound like much of a tantrum. Granted, I am willing to err on the side of Amber being a diva if the facts present themselves. She’s already demanded a nicer set trailer than Gary Oldman (and gotten it ), but I don’t think she did anything wrong here. Am I wrong?

She’s really pretty, but the between the “I need a bigger trailer than Gary Oldman” antics and dating middle aged (but still wonderful) Johnny Depp (their whole relationship is just blecch to me), I’m kind of starting to not like her.

I’m more curious about the clown man behind her, are those ruffles around his ankles/shoes?

Yeah, it is. Set etiquette amongst the crew is to not look at the talent whilst acting, yknow, cuz like normal ppl feeling eyes staring at you, it is distracting. Can’t do anything about onlookers, so putting up a flag to block especially for the eyeline is normal for production.

Yeah, this is not a diva tantrum AT ALL. She should be in a movie with Julia 😉
London Fields is a BRILLIANT novel by Martin Amis. Nicola Six is one of my favorite literary characters.
I am doubtful that Amber Heard is capable of handling this role. If she pulls it off, and if they have managed to make a good script out of the book (which would be difficult) then she will definitely go up a few pegs on the ladder in Hollywood.
The book is sublime, real laughter in the dark (one of Amis’s best). Had no idea it was being made into a film. Jim Sturgess as Keith Talent sounds reasonable, but Theo James not remotely how I’d imagine Guy Clinch and I’m also very doubtful about Amber Heard as Nicola Six… not seeing that at all.
Bit surprised it’s an American director too.
I hope they make a decent job of it.
Originally Gemma Arterton (she was in Hansel and Gretel recently) was going to do it with Michael Winterbottom directing (he directed Mighty Heart with Angelina Jolie) – Gemma hasn’t been lucky with her choices recently. From what I remember of the book – read it years ago – Nichola Six was a brunette and ravishingly beautiful, or maybe I’m not remembering it correctly…
I also think Alexander Skarsgard was supposed to play Guy Clinch but couldn’t due to scheduling.
This movie is going to piss me off, I loved that book. My first thought was “Noooooo, not her, anyone but her”, she does not have the spark needed to play Nicola. Angelina would have been perfect. And I always pictured Keith as a Colin Farrell type. And she is not clairvoyant, she orchestrates her own death.
Dana, right. She needs to be a very obvious femme fatale-type, with immediate presence. Heard is so bland and insipid and seems such a strange choice. I’m good with Sturgess though, have seen him in a few things and I think he’ll do Keith justice.
Did you just spoil the movie and the book?
Olivia Wilde was originally playing her part, I don’t know who would be worse……

Yeah, I’m not convinced that Amber can act. Even in the film that she and Johnny met in (Rum Diaries) all she was was the “girlfriend”. I call her #HOTBLONDEWITHBOOB because it’s true–in terms of her movie roles, that’s all she is.
Which it wouldn’t be so bad, if she wasn’t saying all that “I’m an artist” bs–or saying that she wants to be one, and then only being the hot chick in her films.
Honestly Johnny? If you’re going to go younger, can you at least pick someone talented? But I think they don’t want to deal with him–I get the feeling that these guys go for the young, dumb, less talented women because they’ll basically do whatever to keep them happy. Can you picture Carey Mulligan putting up w/Leo’s bs?
She really can’t act. My husband was watching Pineapple Express a couple nights ago, and she was just atrocious in it. And it’s not as if that part was exactly challenging.
He is her boyfriend not her manager. Why he would have to care about her talent or career? he doesn’t do castings to find a new girlfriend. He is not Tom Cruise!
Maybe she doesn’t have a great talent on acting, but it’s good to him…in the things that a girlfriend have to be good to a man! (I’m not only talking about sex. All the other stuff, compatibility, common interests, etc)
The movie allready got a turnaround,sounds more like it’s allready in question if we ever get to see it.
She is so blah to me. A generic blah blonde with a roundish face with no oomph. Disapointed in Johnny’s choice for his partner.
She’s distracted by the eyeliner, but not the clown behind her, photo bombing? Plus, I’m wondering if Johnny Depp was the dude in eyeliner. He seems fond of it, lol.

Usually she’s gorgeous, but these photos of her walking around with dead eyes and her mouth hanging open are hilarious. It makes her look so… Wal-Mart.
I dunno, that’s pretty much exactly what Christian Bale did, yelled at a guy for crossing his sight lines during a take. Makes me wonder if there hadn’t been any audio, if the Bale thing would have been such a big deal.
The timing of the leak of Bale´s audio tape is way off, it was leaked shortly before the movie was being released, which was about a year after the incident.
The studio prob threw him under the bus to generate publicity.
What he did was out of line, but that tape could have easily gotten swept under the carpet.
I think it’s understandable for someone to ask bystanders not to walk into their eye-line – however – Bale’s outburst was awful. He ripped into the guy that did it and ranted and raved violently. It was completely unprofessional. Can you imagine if any of us did that at work? I don’t think it is right for someone to belittle and verbally abuse a crew member just because they happen to be the talent.
I never even acted in a high school play so take this for what it’s worth but it sounds to me like she was just getting unnecessarily distracted and wanted it to stop so she could concentrate. The best actors make it look easier than breathing but apparently it isn’t easy to pull off a believable performance so I would think she is well within her rights not to want distractions.
She is just so vanilla to me. There’s nothing uniquely attractive about her at all. She just looks like every other blonde in H-wood.

Billy Bob looks really attractive for the first time in years!! I would do him! (But I would ask him not to smile like in the 2nd picture).
She is ordinary to me, good looking but boring and without any features that stand out.
I’ve read the book and it’s pretty good. I can envision her as Nicola Six. But the book is so complex that I’m not sure they can pull it off
And by the way, I’ve read in several places that maybe Johnny is also taking a part on the film. Hope it works well. They surely enjoyed working together too much the first time, isn’t it?
She is over-rated for sure. Another Hollywood blonde dating a much older A-lister. This is the second thing to be reported about her since she started dating JD and neither is favorable to her. Don’t see them lasting and don’t see her career gong in the direction she would like it too. She just isn’t that talented and she has no depth as an actress, perhaps she should consider taking some classes to further “her art”. LOL! SMH!
You could not said it better, she is trying so hard to be a different “artist” but she just comes with the same things, the same films, the same role, in which her boobs are the only thing that we see on the screen, and the funny thing is that she said that she does not like to be the pretty girl in a movie. WTF!!!
People were giving Zooey Deschanel sh*t for this very same thing. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to not want a bunch of onlookers while trying to act out a scene.
Unbelievable!!! She’s just one more stupid blonde in the world of Hollywood, and has a career just because sucks johnny depp’s ass.
Of course she is hot and sexy but a real artist… hell no!
