Here are some photos from last night’s 30th Annual Night Of Stars Presented By The Fashion Group International. I’m trying to remember if this event had a big A-list guest-list in years past…? Didn’t Gwyneth Paltrow attend this last year? I might be thinking of something else. Anyway, this year the big “get” was Miley Cyrus, who Bedhead will discuss in a moment. I’m covering the rest of the ladies! Ladies like… Kate Upton, who is possibly wearing one of the least flattering ensembles I’ve ever seen on her. Sigh. You know I like Kate and I want good things for her, but I get the feeling that her personal style is kind of tacky and budget, right? Like, this is the sort of unflattering mess she chooses for herself. The dress is Azzedine Alaïa – very ‘80s. If this had been a proper floor-length gown, it might have been a different story. But as is, Kate just needs to learn how to dress for her body.
Doutzen Kroes (my favorite model!) in Missoni. It looks like a fisherman caught a hottie in his net.

Sofia Coppola in ?? I don’t know, Marc Jacobs maybe? Surprisingly, I kind of think this dress works because she paired it with fishnets. Weird, I know.
Zoe Kravitz in Alexander Wang (one of her favorite designers). Hey, if you have the body for this, go ahead. I think she looks great.
Karlie Kloss in blah, meh, bland piece of toast. Sorry, I just don’t get why she’s a thing.

I agree. I don’t think that any of them look great. Kate’s matchy-matchy shoes, the puddle of net around Doutzen’s feet…. Even Aretha looks looks like she threw on a fur over a large t shirt when the doorbell rang unexpectedly.
I like Zoe’s look just because she’s kind of a Bohemian chick so I like that her look suits her, plus it’s really young-looking.
The rest are awful.
Karlie looks the best, and she’s the most beautiful to me.
Karlie Kloss’s outfit is really cute. Maybe not for a red carpet, but is totally wear it.
I love her outfit as well, maybe if she chose a more interesting top it would work better for the red carpet.
Zoe does look great- not a lot of people could pull that look off.
Kate Upton looks… I actually like her hairstyle and that’s all I can say.

And Kate, well.. She doesn’t have a “bombshell” curvy figure, she just has huge boobs. Her midsection is not defined, so her clothes need to be structured to give the illusion of a waist, or belted/cinched. I think the issue is only with her formal attire , because in paparazzi pics she looks great.
Karlie is a thing because she’s a good model, unlike Upton.
This x 20. Karlie is an amazing model. Having a vanilla personality doesn’t make her less ‘interesting’ as a model and she sure can walk. Kate Upton is good for burger commercials and nothing else.
Karlie can do high fashion & artsy at the same time. I think she’s very diverse.

Man who only cares about breasts because she looks like a sack of potatoes to me. It looks like she used to weigh 50 lbs more and just got the fat removed but left the rest. Not sure how she had become all the rage she has not curves other than her breasts.
This was a little bit harsh but I have to say I agree, she has great boobs and whatnot but she looks like she never works out and lacks tone.
And yet she had an hourglass figure in her Vogue shoot. Curiouser and curiouser! It’s almost like they just carved her out a waist with Photoshop…

Upton’s shoes are so awful. I do like that on the red carpet and events she does not have her ti** out and goes quite demure.
Zoe Kravitz’s outfit suits her but the make up is awful.
Dourzen Kroes is jaw droppingly beautiful.
Upton’s dress looks cheap, and it doesn’t flatter her chest very much. maybe a little more support up there would better the silhouette. I also don’t like the shoes, it makes her looks like she’s wearing black pantyhose, and matching the color of the shoes to the dress is kind of tacky with this color.
Kate Upton looks like Sponge Bob Squarepants’ long-lost busty twin.
As to Doutzen Kroes–love her! She is my favorite too!

🙂 you cracked me up. I don’t get why people call Upton curvy – she is boxy and busty, with no figure to talk about. But I think she is starting to believe her own hype, the poor thing – and dresses accordingly. Zoe looks marvelous and so does Doutzen.
Agree. Her breasts are the only curvy thing about her, she has a very boxy shape. That dress is not a good look for her at all, and it just accents her mid-section.
Aretha seems to have lost a lot of weight. Congrats to her.
I think Zoe looks good from the shoulders down. Her hair and makeup are horrendous and her face looks greasy.

The less clothing Kate Upton has on, the better she looks.
It appears that she got dressed in the young girls department at Wet Seal (size-wise and tacky-wise). She needs an amazing bra as well and to never wear those ugly ugly ugly shoes again. Oh, and please stand up straight. Yikes.
What’s striking is how bad everyone looks – including Sophia Coppola whose sartorial choices are usually good.
I think they all look pretty awful but in all honesty think back to how you looked at the last wedding you went to… these girls look better than all of us combined Im sure.

A nice cinch/waist belt would look good on Kate with that dress. Help emphasize her waist. I love doing that, it always makes me feel small! Her shoes are hideous.
Doutzen is gorgeous. I don’t understand the dress, but I can ignore that when I look at her face.
As for Kate… I don’t know how she allows this outfit to happen. She’s got something in the bank and people invested in her success now, y’know? She could do much better.
Love the last skirt- that one is cute. Kate Upton needs a better bra, or this dress doesn’t photograph well. She has an attractive face and great hair, and of course “the rack”, but she really doesn’t have the fab body of past SI cover girls like Paulina, etc.
I was going to comment recently that I really hate the high waisted skirt with bare rib cage look, but now I realize it’s an epidemic. To me, it makes even a perfect bod look paunchy. Why ladies, why?

I agree with the comments about the dress not flattering upton. The dress emphasizes her boxy shape and makes her boobs look a bit wonky. It doesn’t matter what any of these girls wear though, cause Miz Franklin is in the house wearing her fur coat and PETA be damned. She is a D-I-V-A
I think Sofia Coppola is GORGEOUS. She just gets better with age. Aretha is a boss and I am happy to see her, even if her face does look like melted wax. Glad to see Zoe smiling (I think, the pictures won’t load fast enough and I can only see a thumbnail of her), she usually looks like a surly teenager, or like she is getting ready to turn your soul to dust by gazing into your eyes…seriously, she gives me the creeps.

Kate has no curves, she looks like a rectangle with boobs. I’ve definitely seen her styled better in the past. On top of that, the dress and shoes are fug!

Love Kate but that dress (not the terrible, terrible choice in shoes) looks good only if the reason she wore it is to show the fact she has zero shape except for her boobs. It does nothing for her.
