The world was shocked to its very core on Friday when Radar and other outlets reported that The Greatest Love Story Of Our Time is now over. Courtney Stodden, 19, and Doug Hutchison, 53, have separated. They announced it on a Friday so we could take the weekend to recover. Obviously, everyone thought these two crazy kids (or one crazy kid and one creepy old man) would make it. So what went wrong? I haven’t the faintest idea how these two people – two halves of the same heart! – could end things. Well, Radar says this morning that Courtney has already kicked Doug out of their Hollywood Hills home:
Hot on the heels of their sudden break-up, Doug Hutchison has moved out of the Hollywood house that he once shared with wife Courtney Stodden, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.
Sources say Doug, 53, is was left “heartbroken and angry” and “devastated” when he was forced to pack his bags.
“I’m not sure they’ll be able to recover from this,” a source said of the couple, who married in Las Vegas in May 2011 when she was just 16.
“Doug’s world has been turned upside down, but for Courtney, it’s far from that. She is embracing singledom. It’s clear she has finally emerged to be able to call all the shots.”
RadarOnline.com broke the news: Celebrity Big Brother alumna D Stodden, 19, separated from her husband and last Thursday night, threw a Halloween party at their rented home, but Doug was conspicuously not there.
“She is branching out and doing her own thing and Doug is getting left behind,” a source dished.
Quite honestly, I’m worried about the idea of Courtney Stodden trying to take care of herself. As creepy as their marriage was with Courtney as half daughter/half wife (that just made me vom a little), at least we knew that Doug was old enough to remember to make the mortgage payments and go grocery shopping. Does Courtney know how to run the dishwasher? Does she know how to fill out a check? (Don’t laugh, I’ve met young people who don’t know how to write a check.) Does she even have a checking account?
In other Courtney news, CDAN is saying that Courtney banged some guy when she was in London for Celebrity Big Brother – it’s the same guy in these photos from Courtney’s drunken extravaganza a few months ago, the guy in the grey vest. CDAN also says Courtney has basically moved the guy into this Hollywood Hills house (or the guy is visiting). So does Court already have a new man? Probably.

I don’t think we have to worry about old Courtney. She did manage, after all, to pull off the mother of all publicity stunts by marrying an old, creepy, barely-famous dude at the age of 16. Let’s face it, that’s why we know who she is. Sixteen is too young for a sex tape so there were limited strategies available to her (and her mother) to get herself on the map. Surely she has a manager who’s taking care of the household bills (and probably ripping her off) and, now that’s she done Celeb BB in Britain and dropped that dead weight Doug, she’s on her way.
I thought her mother was her manager from various articles I’ve read about Courtney. Also remember reading something early on that the mother was also living in the same house as Courtney and Doug. I didn’t know that was a rental house – thought it belonged to Doug.
Or maybe she’ll find a straight man.

I can’t help thinking that Doug was the dupe in this whole twisted arrangement. Either that or it was an arrangement meant to help his career as well as launch hers. It’s no coincidence that she dumps him just as she reaches eighteen and can legally pose for nekkid photos and make sex tapes and shop herself around to reality programming.
Are you serious? Just because her mother sanctioned the legal Raping of a 16-year-old by a man old enough to be her grandfather does not mean that as bystanders, anyone should blame Courtney.
Never condoning statutory rape… but I agree with lavinia on some level. I was not an idiot at 16 years old and neither was she. I think that she wanted to be famous as much as her mother wanted her to be. She could just as easily have married a 53 year old guy from PoDunk, Kentucky with zero fame if it was just about *love*.
But I do think that she’s confused fame and infamy. When she’s 50-something and plastic surgery can only make her resemble a freakish wax version of herself her “career” (whatever that’s going to be) will be over. Unless she finds something more substantial to support herself she’ll just be another clambering, dead-eyed Barbie desperate for attention.
And, although we all know Doug’s affinity for someone underage was creepy – I can’t help but restate what’s already been said. Courtney did not LOOK 16 years old. She looked like every other piece of arm-candy in Hollywood that these middle-aged actors rotate and parade around (ala DeCaprio). Doug is obviously a man-child himself emotionally and mentally – so her mind was a match. If you take those facts into account, it wasn’t really skeevy as much as it was pathetic.
So in a way – I pity them both. They’ve both destroyed their own reputations as well as limited their careers to prospects of lifetime mockery and ridicule.

I watched the UK Big Brother, the one she was on. She came across as a nice, ditzy 19 year old girl. In the back of my mind I knew as soon as she got a taste of freedom , she’s gone.

I know it’s a lot to hope for (since those who have been victimized often end up drawn to others who will do so as well), but I hope this move bc of her newfound confidence will be the start of her realizing she doesn’t have to put up with *any* BS, bc she CAN take care of herself, & deserves to be happy. I think it goes beyond general maintenance of self and home. With her level of cluelessness, she’s putting herself at great risk with other pond scum that may not value physical boundaries or even her life.
Her fame is based on a grotesque display of her sexuality and as she gets older and the novelty wears off, whether it be in one year or five, she’ll be forced to find new ways to garner attention. Her options are considerably limited so it’s probably just a matter of time before we see her releasing the sex tape she made and then diving into porn. Women in porn aren’t usually treated well. And then there’s the easy access to any drug of her choice in any amount she wishes as long as she’s willing to give a man (or woman!) what he or she wants.
I fear this is just the next move into a life that was groomed to debase and humiliate to meet the perverted needs of others. Thus far, it’s all she knows. Actions that began as a means to survive are continually reinforced by those she surrounds herself with, confirming this is how one earns one’s worth in the world.
I *really* hope she wakes up. She’d have a surprising number of people to cheer her on and make sure she gets the help she needs. Otherwise, it’s chilling to think of where she could be headed.

I’m not familiar with the stats but isn’t it common that one child is targeted while the others are spared? Yes, it’s reported that her siblings live normal lives but we don’t know how they’ve coped with the insanity that’s probably been going on since their childhood. When Courtney walked a red carpet and wore a typical half of nothing dress, her father spanked her behind with a big smile on his face. He looked like her p*mp. There are pictures that show her sitting on her mother’s lap with her breasts inches from her mother’s face while they both look seductively at the camera. Her parents approve of her dressing and acting like a tramp, her mom is papped more than Doug as she happily walks aside her almost naked daughter. Even if they haven’t followed in Courtney’s footsteps, I doubt her sisters have escaped their home life scott free. When one is damaged, they all are.

Maybe but when a kid displays tendencies that point to histrionic personality disorder (or something related) it’s often a result of serious trauma. She may have been biologically predisposed but usually something environmental triggers the behavior.
