Duchess Kate repeats a 2011 LK Bennett coat for Remembrance Day: pretty?

FFN_William_Kate_FFUK_110713_51254263

I was tired of waiting to see if we’d ever get some the new Duchess Kate photos in, so if you’d like to see the new high-quality full-length pics, go here. I’m including some of the few photos we did get. Today is London Poppy Day (or Remembrance Day) in the UK, and Kate repeated a 2011 LK Bennett coat for the activities – we’ve seen the coat two times before, and you can see our previous coverage here. It’s a pretty coat and I always love Kate in red. I wish she would wear more red. Kate took a bus ride! How shocking. You can read more about it here.

By my count, this is the sixth public appearance Kate has made since giving birth, although my math may be wrong. It does feel like we’re going weeks and weeks without seeing her, but did anyone expect it would be any different? Well, maybe that one dude who works for Kate thought it was going to be different. The unnamed dude told People Mag that Kate was going to work super-hard after she gave birth. And all of us just rolled our eyes.

Anyway, I really wanted to talk about this story – remember how William and Kate always made such a big deal about how they loved living in Wales and how it was so private, except Kate was barely ever in Wales, she was always in London or at her parents’ house? And William basically only stayed in Wales for work, and the rest of the time he was on vacation? And then after Will and Kate left Wales, we finally got to see their “cottage” and it was like a Welsh mansion? Yeah, all of that. Well now The Mail’s sources claim William and Kate really, really “miss” Wales.

They only said their farewells barely a month ago but already the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are hankering after their beloved hideaway on Anglesey. According to local figures, the couple have been making discreet inquiries about returning to the secluded white-walled farmhouse they rented for £750 a month during William’s three-year posting as a search-and-rescue helicopter pilot at nearby RAF Valley.

The future King and Queen are in the process of moving into Princess Margaret’s 21-room former home at Kensington Palace, renovated at a cost of £1.1 million to the taxpayer. But they have made no secret of their love for the windswept island off the North Wales mainland where they first set up home together before they wed.

In a recent letter written by Prince William’s private secretary, Miguel Head, he referred to the island as ‘their beloved Anglesey’, and both Kate and William are said by friends to hanker after a permanent base on the island.

‘After the relative freedom of living pretty undisturbed as a couple in Wales, William dislikes the proximity of so many neighbours at Kensington Palace,’ I am told. ‘A bolthole in a place they know so well has definite appeal.’

The five-bedroom farmhouse, with its own private beach, commands stunning views of the Irish Sea and romantic Llanddwyn Island, named after St Dwynwen, the Welsh patron saint of lovers.
Guarded during the Cambridges’ occupancy by a seven-strong royal protection team housed in converted outbuildings, the farmhouse is part of Grade II-listed Bodorgan Hall belonging to the Old Etonian 7th Baronet, Sir George Meyrick, 72, and his 70-year-old wife, Lady Jean.

William loved to ride his Ducati motorbike around the family’s private racetrack.

Royal biographer Michael Thornton, who lives on Anglesey and often shopped alongside Kate at the local Waitrose, says: ‘Rumours are flying about the possibility of the Cambridges acquiring a home on the island.

‘I have heard they are interested in buying the farmhouse.’

Says a friend: ‘Royals rarely buy properties but they could rent again.’

[From The Mail]

This is fascinating to me because the Queen JUST bribed Will and Kate with an offer to move into Anmer Hall, likely because the Queen was uncomfortable with just how much time they were spending in Bucklebury with Kate’s parents. The Queen paid off the current resident of Anmer Hall and the place is now undergoing extensive renovations (likely funded by the taxpayers) so that Will, Kate and George can have a quiet country place. So what is the Wales thing about? Hm?

Very pretty but not a fan of the middle part in the hair (for almost anyone, not just HRH).

  2. vava says:

She’s looking very rough today. Terrible hair, awful makeup, tired. The hair is the worst.

No way is she moving to Wales. How would she SHOP? She’s not a country girl, she loves London.

    • MaryBeth says:

I was thinking the exact same thing. Unsure why she has so much makeup on… Her eyebrows were just fine but now they’re very obviously being filled in? I want to put some eye cream on her poor eyes.. I feel bad saying those things because she is a really pretty girl & obviously is losing lots of weight because of the baby but meh…. I dunno… Her face with the middle part & tons of makeup is not good. 🙁

      • Florc says:

Some say her eye liner is inked in. Some women never watn to be seen without their make up. Her eyes and forhead looked like that to a lesser degree years ago. She then got some very good touching up around her eyes and nose to lessen the double bags she and Pippa got from their mother. Nature will always undo the work of a good surgeon though. Her forehead got more wrinkled around pregnancy either because of less photo shopping or botox.
Her weightloss has been addressed by how she puts a length of time aside to exercise and watches her diet closely. Those tid bits came out after the flat tummy flash playing volley ball.
A center part looks good on very few people.

      • Maggie says:

I am laughing so hard reading your comment. It’s obvious. You don’t like her.

      • Florc says:

        Oh Maggie.

  3. Kristen says:

    Wow. She looks rough.

    • Dena says:

      Hey FLORC:

I thought you had abandoned the board. I pretty much have. After all, there isn’t anything substantial to talk about concerning Waity.

She is her clothes and her hair. And it seems like if you disagree with her being held in esteem for that then you are labeled a hater (or such). We used to have good conversations about her/William/the Mids but not anymore. Glad to see you posted though.

      +***+***+
Looking at the DM pictures, what’s that on William’s leg in the third picture?😜😊

      • Florc says:

Dene. Been busy with work and house renovations.
We still have great conversations on occasion. Not as often though.

I could ave posted more, but didn’t I guess. There’s only so many ways you can tell a person their idol’s status should not be decided by their appearance, but substance. It’s their life though. Worship blindly as they like.

  4. lucy says:

    Remembrance day is the 11th.

For some reason I like that she’s not covering up her grey hair and looks tired and not as ‘put together’ as before. It makes her more relatable and I buy that she’s a hands-o mum.

  5. Dawn says:

Oh come on, she looks just fine. If this was anyone else you would all be saying that she is a new mother so give her a break. I won’t say that because of course I know she has nannies but we all have our days when we look great, okay and just down right bad. I think she is just having an okay day. Oh and I love that coat and wish I had it!

    • Liberty says:

@Dawn. I agree with you. I am not a Kate fan, but I think she just looks like she is having a ‘real life’ day. She looks fine.

    • emmie_a says:

I think she looks rough because the DM has pictures of her that are not photoshopped. I’m used to seeing her heavily photoshopped pictures so when we see the real Kate it’s surprising at how normal she looks.

Just like to add that I’m glad I finally figured out that celebrities usually photoshop their pictures before they release them. It’s nice to know that they are not as picture perfect as they seem… well, a few are but not the majority.

  6. AmandaPanda says:

NOW I understand why there were a gazillion police at my local tube stop today. It’s because waity was at HSK!

  7. taxi says:

It is time for a major haircut.

  8. Sam says:

Rememberance or Poppy Day is not today, it is the 11th November (Monday) as it is every year, although there are always events and services in the week leading up to it and people wear poppies from the beginning of November or thereabouts.

  9. iCali says:

Prince George – such a cutie!

  10. bluhare says:

Kate needs to cut her hair. It looks bloody awful. Love the coat, though.

And as for Wales . . . seems a bit self indulgent to me. They’ve got KP, Anmer Hall, I think William was gifted a property at Balmoral and now they want this place n Wales? William’s certainly been doing a lot more engagements than I would have thought for a transition year . . . maybe he doesn’t like being so close because he’s being asked to do things? No idea really.

    • Maggie says:

I agree with 98% of your comment.

    • Suze says:

What I want to know is: why are they are still “in the process” of moving into their apartment at Kensington? How bloody long does it take to move? Their London home was Nottingham Cottage, which is about 800 feet from their new abode. Good grief.

Coat is pretty. She looks tired, though, but that’s understandable, if the reports about George having a set of lungs on him are anywhere near the truth.

  11. We Miss You Enclave_24 says:

These pics make her look washed out, and the DM pics make her look rough. She doesnt look bad per say…just aged. It is a European thing? Why dont the women over there age well? She’s barely 30 and looks close to 40, such a shame. And the hair! My goodness, does she intend to look like an eternal co-ed. I do think she’s attractive, she does have nice hair and her body is ok if you’re into the skeletal frame….she just never looks polished.

    • tinfoil hat says:

These pics MAKE her look washed out, and the DM pics MAKE her look rough
      —————————————————————————————————————————-
Did you ever consider that this is how Kate really looks – without excessive airbrushing and photoshop?

    • melmel says:

She was a smoker (maybe she still is who knows) and that maybe why she looks rough. I also can not believe that she can`t get someone from her salon to come to KP and vegetable dye her hair.

      • Bucky says:

At the same time, there are SO MANY celebs who smoke whose skin looks better. I mean, Aniston is 13 years her senior, was a smoker for about 20 years, and her skin looks a lot better than Kate’s. To me, this looks tired. Maybe with a cold or something. Tired and/or sick happens, even to rich folks.

  12. Lydia says:

Daily Mail has photos of her that show her grey hair. It’s kind of shocking.

    • Kate says:

Eh. I’ve been graying since I was nineteen. Noticed the first one my sophomore year of college. My mother started turning gray at 21 when she had her first baby. Premature graying is not unusual and not a big deal. I’ve heard Jennifer Lopez also grayed prematurely and has to color her hair constantly to hide the silver roots. It’s pretty typical and doesn’t have much to do with age or stress or anything else, usually. It’s more a result of genetics. Also, some nutritionists and scientists argue that graying is a sign of good health (can’t remember the reasoning for that, but I heard it recently on NPR). As a lifelong athlete who appears to be very fit, Kate is obviously very healthy, so if it’s true her graying would not be surprising.

      • Florc says:

I heard that recycled story about graying hair on NPR too. I have a solid silver “skunk” streak in the front with a few gray strands scattered about. I love it! I got them at 20 when I was partying hard at college and stressed out. Healthy anything was a far cry from my state. Genetics played a role as well. I feel like NPR is pandering more for a larger audience to tune in by running more relatable stories. I’ve been hearing many repeats or the same topics rehashed.

      • Justme says:

It’s definitely genetics in my case. Every member of my mother’s family for at least 3 generations both in the United States and in Ireland starts to go gray in his or her late teens or early twenties. On the plus side our hair remains very thick – both for men and women.

    • Gine says:

Why? I got my first gray hair when I was 22.

    • Suze says:

      Genetics, pure and simple.

Oddly, I like the fact that she is showing grey hair. It gives her some personality and makes her seem more relatable.

  13. Relli says:

I think Georgie is my new favorite royal, I just love that face!

Also, I have been reading on other sites that Camilla is totally horrible to Kate, is there any truth in that?

  14. Kate says:

Well, the number of public appearances Kate does is pretty similar to what Diana had to do when she had young babies. In Kate’s case, though, she’s not married to the next in line to the throne. That would be Camilla. Camilla should be the one who is most visible and doing the most appearances and representing the royal family in the most public way. Kate is required to have visibility, yes, but she’s not the one married to the Prince of Wales. She is not the queen consort-in-waiting. And ugh with the “Waity” nonsense some comments are still spewing. That might have had some sting (to an adolescent with a Mean Girl complex and the maturity level of a walnut) when she was just Willliam’s girlfriend, but the wait paid off, she’s married to him now and has his baby. Get over it. Charles and Diana had a quick, whirlwind romance and engagement and hardly knew one another, and look at how well that turned out. William and Kate did it the right way.

    • m says:

Oh yea, they did it the right way: William dumping Kate whenever a new piece came his way and only getting back with her when the girl he really wanted turned him down. William is worse than his father because William actually got to pick his wife and he settled for someone he has repeatedly proved he doesnt respect.

      • Maggie says:

        @m, nasty comment!

      • Florc says:

        m
You can’t convince them to take off their rose colored blinders. I wonder what the excuses will be when Will and Kate divorce. People were blind to Charles and Diana as they are to William and Kate. History repeating and all that. Or if William’s affairs ever got leaked. Do I know he’s having current affairs? No. Do I believe he’s faithful to his wife that he strung along while his ex gf’s left him. Reason given by one was he had a roving eye nd his behavior only supported that.

But hey. She’s got the ring and the baby. No career, no money of her own. no passion to do something with her position, and a man who may or may not be cheating on her during his many nights away. What a dream to aspire to!

      • Bucky says:

        @Florc
“I wonder what the excuses will be when Will and Kate divorce. ”

Jeezus, what’s your damage? I get the criticism, but good lord. This feels personal.

      • Florc says:

        Bucky
It’s not personal and i’m not sure how you came to that conclusion. Divorce is a likely outcome. Especially in that family.
My damage? Don’t try and attack me for stating an opinion. That’s silly. Argue a point back without trying to insult. She me your arguement holds water.

Anyways. Divorce is not out of the cards and if it does what will be said? No one saw Charles and Diana seperating and how many unexpected stories came afterwards. I’m simply speculating.
And as another posted above. It’s celebitchy, not celebgushy.

    • Bohemia says:

      YES to everything you said.

  15. Green Girl says:

I am disappointed with her look today. She needs a haircut and a good night’s rest.

  16. L says:

Still love the coat, and like it even more since she changed up the belt from last time.

And compared to the 6 months prior to giving birth, she has been doing more appearances.

  17. Mel says:

I like the pic where she seems to be listening intensely to someone speak in the bus and playing with her ring. I wonder how often she strikes that thing.

    • Bucky says:

I subconsciously play with my ring (not even the engagement kind) or earrings when I’m really focusing. It doesn’t mean she’s distracted by the ring. In fact, studies have shown that things like doodling and fidgeting are related to greater memory and comprehension of whatever subject the fidgeter is learning about.

      • Mel says:

I was joking but that’s interesting info.

      • Bucky says:

It’s what I cling to when I find myself doodling in important meetings 🙂

      • Janos says:

I disagree. I think anything that detracts and distracts when someone is spoeaking to you, like ring playing, hair playing etc is rude to the speaker. Probably a nervous tic like Charles with his hands in his pockets.

  18. Lovahbump says:

I actually think she might be pregnant again. I think she isn’t covering the gray bc some don’t like the color in the first three months. She also looks a little barfy and tired …maybe more morning sickness?

  19. Maria says:

I’ve nothing to add other than what a cute little boy!

  20. Faun says:

She looks actually sick, like she has some sort of major illness.

  21. apsutter says:

Wow…she looks like fresh hell in the pics on Daily Mail. That first photo made me gasp because she looks puffy and extremely tired.

  22. bettyrose says:

It must be so tiring to constantly remodel and move into new palaces.

  23. Murphy says:

Wales is code for visitng his mistress in York. Or some other one somewhere else. Or another one somewhere else. etc. etc.

  24. Audrey says:

    I love grumpy George!

I honestly think Kate is a hands on mom and George is way more fussy and grouchy than expected. She looks so tired.

I sympathize, my 7 month old is a high needs baby. Brushing my hair is a luxury these days lol

  25. Gine says:

The middle-parted hair doesn’t suit her, but I think she looks fine otherwise, just tired. Having a baby will do that to you–even months after the birth, your body is still pretty out of whack.

  26. Anon says:

Kate looks fine. This woman cannot win. Her last appearance, I read a comment about her being a bad mother because her child was left with a nanny constantly while she was out and about. What BS. If she repeats her clothes, she’s criticized. She deserves to be praised for it and both Prince George’s parents seem to be doing a great job of first time parenting. (It could go the way of what Prince Charles had as a baby.)

  27. Florc says:

So, we get another story about a superficial topic? I guess you’re doing the best with what’s given. Her hair, clothes, make up. How she allegedly wishes to have another home to be a happy family in with her husband and new baby even though she’s almost always at her parents without William. I don’t know why i’m shocked at this.
Are these stories about her released so we get more baby shots and the good will is stirred up again? And to think i’ve been a Kate defender on another Kate blog.

  28. Janos says:

Have always thought her hair too long. Reminds me of those last years on Friends when all of them had bone straight, uber long hair just dragging their 30+ faces down. No harm in taking off a few inches now and again. But she seems obsessed with maintaining her blown out hair.

  29. Janos says:

Think she’s always had an eating disorder too.

    • kelly2 says:

Always?? No, but she’s clearly had “issues” since around the time of the engagement. She used to be vibrant, athletic & healthy but lost a drastic amount of weight. Now after the pregnancy, she wasted no time dieting back down to stick figure proportions.

    • Florc says:

She looked very fit before. Very healthy. Often her fans refer to te white bikini photo from a decade ago. In her younger years she had a healthy amount of weight, but not slender. The engagement is the line in the sand where she started getting scary thin.

      • vava says:

I think she has issues with food, too. But I will say I was impressed that she produced such a big baby. That surprised me. OK, that’s one positive thing I can say about this woman…. LOL

  30. bonnie says:

I’m pretty sure tax payers are not paying for the renovations of anmer hall….i dont know for sure, but if it is their private residence, i think they pay themselves for it
