Yesterday we covered Jennifer Lawrence’s wrinkled and candy-crusted Dior toga at the London premiere of Catching Fire. Now the cast has already hit Berlin for the German premiere. I love this photo of Jennifer with Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson because the “love triangle” in this franchise is anything but romantic. Liam looks so ridiculous in his blue suit (more on that below), but Josh is owning his stature as a short guy. No lifts required.
Jennifer was wearing a light-blue Dior dress coat with some pink-and-blue embroidery in the skirt area. This dress is sooo much better than her fug London attire. She looks kicky and fashionable and nowhere in jeopardy of falling on her face like she did at the Oscars. The nude Stuart Weitzman heels are an annoyance, but they’re a universal annoyance. Hollywood needs to quit this trend.
Elizabeth Banks didn’t fare nearly as well as she did in London. Elizabeth looks great in bright colors, but she chose this washed out Elie Saab gown for last night’s premiere. The dress is technically metallic with a ridged belt, but it doesn’t go well with Elizabeth’s beachy looks. Perhaps with a more dramatic hairstyle she could have pulled it off, but this “edgy” dress was paradoxically not enough for the lovely Banks. My vote in London was Elizabeth, but JLaw easily wins Berlin.
Before I get to the men at the Berlin premiere, here are some bullet points from JLaw and her cohorts:
* Jennifer reveals that she remains terrified of falling in another Dior dress after her Oscar blunder: “Eventually I [will] stop slapping myself every time I [think] about it. I don’t have any plans to avoid future falls. I can only use sheer will power. I will be much more focused when walking. I was just at my brother’s wedding and I had to walk down all these stairs and I thought, ‘I can’t fall again! I can’t!’”
* When quizzed about their favorite young adult novels, the cast response was mixed. JLaw favored Harry Potter while Josh and Sam admitted they never read many (optional) books while growing up. The true winner? Elizabeth called “the Flowers in the Attic series” while admitting she had to hide the books from her parents. That sounds exactly like me and The Exorcist. True story! My BFF and I read it together on our 5th grade playground. We were such rebels.
* JLaw tried to remain diplomatic when quizzed about Miley Cyrus and her sexy image: “I don’t really worry about it. It’s definitely something that’s just kind of a part of this world. It is a part of the entertainment industry that sells. Sex sells, and for some disgusting reason young sex sells even more.” I agree about the grossness of “young sex” selling the most.
* The main tributes did not enjoy their wetsuits, but JLaw was “surprised at how little camel toe problem there was. I was expecting a lot more.” Hutch added, “We tried cups in the beginning, but they looked ridiculous.” Claflin reveals that thongs were originally required for the males, but “we eventually went with cycling shorts and that kept it all intact.” Then Hutch admitted, “[The wetsuits] were pretty comfortable once we found out you can actually pee through them — just go into the ocean and take care of your business.” [Insert JLaw fart joke.]
* I briefly mentioned this yesterday, but we’re still getting tips about how Jennifer fled the London red carpet to socialize with a young fan in a wheelchair. JLaw embraced the young girl and thanked her for attending the premiere. Tears!
Here’s some pictures of Liam and Josh last night. Josh looks serviceable (in more ways than one), but I can’t stop laughing at Liam. He looks so cheesy in this blue suit. Dude can’t work it without a “helllll-o, ladies” vibe.

Don’t like the dress. Double breasted?? No. The skirt on it is nice, but this girl can do so much better style-wise. EB looks great. Love the dress, but maybe a different hair style. I like the blue on Liam. He’s just so goofy and has no presence. Poor josh. That’s all I’ve got.

I don’t love the hair here and the coat/dress is cute, definitely an improvement from the one she wore in London but it looks like something I’d expect Michelle Obama to wear – I feel like Jen is pretty and young but her hair and outfits are just teaming up to age her as much as possible. I wish her stylist would think more about using her style to reflect her young and quirky personality.
Exactly! I love Michelle Williams style and I think something along those lines would work really well for Jennifer. But NO, her stylist has her dressing like a 50 year old socialite…so not flattering at all!
I would also love to be Angelina Jolie’s stylist as well, or her personal shopper, she has so much potential and it is ruined by black work slacks and tiny strapped oversized camisoles.
Budget looks SO budget.

I really loved Elizabeth’s dress here. I think’s Jen’s coat dress is cute but I was wondering before the press tour what in Dior’s fall couture collection she would wear for premieres since there wasn’t really any suitable dresses and some of the better ones have already been worn by others. It looks like she got the leftovers. I really hope her contract with Dior ends soon and she won’t be obliged to wear Dior anymore but can pick the best dresses from different designers.
I have to admit I find Liam hot when shaved but he’s appeal completely disappears to me when he has a stubble or beard.
I love Elizabeth’s dress too. And the loose hair makes the dress not as stuffy as it could have been.
And I agree about Jennifer’s Dior contract. I hope she’s getting good money to wear their clothes because I can’t think of too many things she’s worn that really suited her.

I’m not really feeling JLaw’s coat dress. I don’t think white is her best color and it looks slightly too big – as do her shoes. As far as her hair – I like it. It looks young and modern on her and not at all like Kate Gosselin over-hairsprayed helmet.
It could use some tailoring and maybe some funky or edgier shoes. The sandals aren’t working for me.

I like the idea of a dress coat, especially when it’s November and freezing. Jen looks great, but the style ages her, I think.
I like Liam’s suit, I think he wears colour really well, while Josh’s suit gives me a Grandfather vibe. Poor Josh is so short though.

She sounds very self righteous even more than usual in this promotion campaign by referring herself to be a role model. Wasn’t she caught smoking weed and getting drunk at the oscars, which i have no problem with but is it a good example for her to be setting to her young hunger games fans? She’s just any celebrity complaining about fame but carries on playing game. She doesn’t seem like a bad person but every needs to stop treating her like a messiah.
Also if this was Kristen stewart or Anne hathaway saying half the stuff this woman says they’ll be crucified by this site and other blogs.

on this side JLaw cannot do wrong. She is cute and her PR team makes her an innocent young angel. Maybe when the next likeable starlet comes across and the love affair with Jen ends… then the tone will change and people will judge her in a more objective way.

She seems to be acknowledging that it is commonplace, and makes no judgement on the choice to do it. She may have gotten drunk and whatnot, but she didn’t advertise it on stage. I don’t really care that Miley did. But I am confused about the outrage here.
There’s always blow back here when too many people like one person. If you really think about it, every celebrity has contradicted themselves at some point in time. Just like every human being in the world. I don’t get the big deal.
I’m not even certain it is a contradiction. Even if she did “lad” magazines, it doesn’t mean that she found it appealing. Plus she doesn’t shade the people who do it, just the fact that “selling young sex” is part of the industry, and that it doesn’t sit right with her. I haven’t seen the lad photos, so it’s difficult to gauge if they were very similar to a Terry Richardson special. It’s possible that she may have regrets about those decisions as well.

Sshe often talks about the intense training she does for stuff like the Hunger Games and X-men, so she certainly doesn’t claim that she never works out. She’s obviously very fit and active, and looks it.

More she talk that didnt diet and working out – MORE I think that she exercising like crazy and eat only right food. In recent two years she lost A LOT weight and her body now looks perfectly toned. Jlaws words and obvious things contradict to each other.
She said in an interview that she exercises when preparing for X-Men and Hunger Games movies but they do so much running and stuff on sets that she doesn’t need to train while filming. Running up a hill for hours in order to film a scene is enough.

Elizabeth’s gown is beautiful, she looks lovely. Jennifer’s coat dress is nice, but a different shoe would’ve worked better. Something that would have given a pop of color maybe. Loved that she went over to her young fan, spoke with her and gave hugs.
Her shoes are hideous. The beige is ok, but the style is just so, so bad. That tiny little strap across the toes makes even a small-sized foot look awkward.
Banks looks stunning, this Elie Saab I actually like for once. Lawrence looks like a mix between Kate Gosselin and Kate Middleton. And not in a good way.

Oh my goodness, I love the blue suit–although I agree that Liam kind of looks funny in it. I get what they were going for, it makes his baby blues pop. He also looks fine as hell with that dashing smile in the second-to-last pic.

I personally like this hairstyle on her the moment I saw her with it.. I think it makes her look fresh and don’t think that it is soccer momish like many people think. Maybe because I have a short hair and I like JLaw so I may be biased.

I like her hairstyle here. The dress coat is a huge improvement over the fug weird candy dress. I also think that E Banks is so beautiful but could have gone more severe or edgy with with either the dress or the hair and makeup. And Liam needs to take off that suit at once. At. once.

wow, upper part of the dress is flight attendant, lower part, ice-skater. Shoes are beyond mismatch, the color, the season, the style. Ugh. Dior is so wrong for young and perky thing like JLaw. She should wear Proenza Schouler, Wang, something cool but not too edgy. The only thing working here is her hair.
